Very impressed with the new south stand myself, decent sized concourse underneath, in and out of the gents at half time no issues, a bit to eat and drink with minimal wait, superb view of the dreadful performance & some good noise started by those who congregated at the back. The Thatchers End yoof had some competition! Well worth the tenner and getting out of the tornado that battered the East. ....are the facilities now inside the concourse or still outside/shared with other areas? All outside.

Losing to Exeter last night further reminds me that as time goes on the more I see fan ownership as the perfect fit for our club. Hate all this reliance on random moneymen.

Yea if the number making noise in the South increases and it's a decent game it will be a new level at the Mem. Was a small group of us singing but sounded really loud especially at the start of the second half. Not into this 'the team need to give us something to cheer about' thing. Sometimes the best way to make the most of a bad game is to create an atmosphere. It's definitely decent and at a reasonable price I'd probably switch from the Thatchers. Better facilities underneath are desperately needed though - a decent toilet block within the concourse is something I expected.

Don't feel like they're doing this deal in any way as a concession around fairer ticket prices - it's a panic option to get the 75%. If they are serious about fairness the whole ticket pricing needs an overhaul. We have more seats and higher capacity so there is no excuse to keep terrace prices over £20 and seats behind the goal should be below £25.
Look at Bradford City for a club who have experienced little to cheer about on the pitch but maintained consistently high attendances for how it can be done if pricing is right.

Dropped the club an email at 1740, had a call at 1840 and a Thatcher's ticket by 1847. Cracking response from the club, can't fault them, thanks to Ethan and Chloe for their attention and consideration. If you think this is bad, try getting Liverpool tickets (if they get through that is) I remember the last time, it was hell, even as a season ticket holder at Trumpton, it was hell and relied on a friend of a friend to obtain one. Myself and my mate were students at the time. We went to the shop in Kingswood and asked what we needed to buy tickets for the Twerton Game. She said season ticket holders only. We asked if we bought season tickets could we buy tickets for Liverpool, she said yes. So we immediately bought two season tickets. Job done for both matches. As I remember it you had to go to a specific league game (Tranmere I think it was) to get a voucher. Or maybe that was something else. Anyway I got ticket for Anfield from the Kingswood office one way or another.

It's pretty incredible to remember (now certain scapegoats are no longer available) that the club thought the stand could be fully operational on the first day of the season.

How true it is I can't be certain, although the person who told me is trustworthy, but my understanding is that they're planning to demolish the current East Stand and replace the whole thing with a wrap around into the South stand. Whether that will be another temporary effort or a 'proper' stand, I don't know. My concern with the former option would be around the hospitality facilities and the shop? I've been told that the plan then is to build a two tier stand where the Thatchers is, with safe standing at the front and seats at the rear. That would then wrap into a new stand where the Cooling FX stand currently is.... Find it hard to believe they wouldn't replace the hospitality - unless new stuff is planned for the North maybe? The confusion (which is probably going to keep this forum busy whatever happens over the next 8 years) is that we started developing the Mem on the basis of temporary revenue ahead of new stadium and now we are further developing it on the basis of staying there permanently. So if we continue with cheaper semi permanent solutions arguments and uncertainty will arise about whether or not we still plan to move at some point or the board have settled on making do with a cow shed stadium with a higher capacity. Personally, after 33 years of it I'm done with speculation so if they're serious about staying they need to make it look serious.

1-1 vs Notts County 16th of March 1991. I was mid teens and my mum wouldn't let me go to a game unless a mate went with me. One did agree to come but let me down last minute so kept that quiet and went on my own anyway. Got the bus from the station and followed the scarfs to find my way. Stood in the Bath end. Don't remember much of the game though think Tony Sealey scored.
Got the wrong bus home and ended up in Staple Hill which was like another city to me at the time. Took me a while to find another bus back into town so home very late to an irate mother. She let me off though.
Went to nearly every home game the season after.

I think under Joey we controlled games, I always had hope we could avoid the one or two mistakes and start turning games into wins I’m not sure there was any game plan there today. First haf we were pumping it long like the dark ages. Second half was better but it had to be surely? The first half was the worst all season (aside the second half at Crawley) getting rid of Joey and then Mangan look like big mistakes to me. Appreciate not everyone liked Joey. (Understand why) Yep Barton going has been 100% positive but I simply can't see any sense in it from a purely football perspective. We were frustrated about missing peices of a puzzle now we can'r even see what the pieces are. Looks very much back to square one and Taylor has a big job on his hands.

I think we can fairly confidently file the FM video in the incesingly large 'not fully thought through/ balls up' draw.

I doubt but really hope this was the real reason he was sacked and if so a shame that's not the reason the board gave. Objectively, I liked what Barton did from a purely footballing perspective and the transition to a new manager has been shambolic so it makes much more sense for this to be the cause. I've parked a lot of concern about Barton to support Rovers and if he was still manager today this would be the end of me attending games while he remained - a massive fina straw. Everything has been for the best in this light.

Drain the swamp/ get our Rovers back - some posts on here sound like a football verison of MAGA. Oh don’t you worry pal, for 3 years it’s been this, the idiot goes live Friday with his latest podcast interview glorifying his brothers murder of an innocent devoted Christian lad, his childhood, his antics with a cigar. Like the poor guys family need to hear this but this was also booked in when he was manager of us still. #HijackOver #WeveGotOurRoversBack #ProjectRebuildScoutingDepartment #VitosForSale 😂👍 I have no interest in defending Barton in any non-fottballing sense but on this basis Wael needs to go, and all staff that preceeded the new owners plus maybe any fan that attended games whie he was in charge. I support anyone that didnt go while Barton was in charge btw but to talk like this at this stage about the current coaching team seems a tad OTT.

I don't think playing it out from the back is a problem and there was actually more long forward balls yesterday than I've seen n a while. The days when every player would react to pressure by smashing it up the pitch in the vague direction of a not quite target man still haunt me. Orient also played it out but did so much better than us. Good sides play it out just needs improveent not abandoning. Needs to be quicker and the movement of our attacking players needs to be better. Nothing wrong with passing it through the lines but if everything is backs to goal it’s too easy to defend against. Tempo is key. Agreed. There were good moments yesterday and have been all season it's just not consistent. Cox and Evans both played world class long passes out to the right for example - Gordon was always looking to play quickly through the middle. but often feels it slows due to a lack of options and pressure.

One thing Barton could do was get us playing in way that meant we controled the game - at least for good periods. Since he's gone we've rarely looked in control and it's all much more reactive with the opposition dictating play.
POsitives the new stand looks good and encloses the stadium nicely. The very few times the crowd made any noise you could hear an echo.

Poor crowd tonight too. Need to get the appointment right and get the fans back united. Wonder if we’ll hear any complaints about the lights on the new stand pointing straight down into the 6 yard box. Perfect excuse for that goal 🤣 What was that all abouot? There was a dark strip running across the box and the light from stands had a totally different shade to the floodlights. I can't imagine anything other than they didnt think through the fact the new stand would block the floodlight.

Been watching Rovers since 1990 and this will be the first time I've seen us play at home with a seated stand that runs fully from one corner to another. If you'd told me in 93 that rather than a 40 000 stadium at Hallen in 3 years it'll be a single 3000 seat semi-permanent stand in 30 I'd have been a bit dissapointed but right now I'll take it.

Here's what I think is confusing about assessing Mangan - and this is not to take any side in the Barton love/hate conflict. Usually when a manager is sacked our form and performances have been abysmal so any unbeaten run regardless of the opposition and performances would be seen as a massive shift and put eyes on the interim manager. The problem here is that there is little to compare before and after in terms of quality because it wasn't bad enough to begin with and even the biggest Barton ball haters can't say for sure this run of results wouldn't have happened anyway. Attempting to upgrade without a major crisis in form/ performances is new territory for us as a club and that could be a positive but it makes gamble feel much bigger. Isn't that a bit like saying if Garner had taken us down, even the strongest Garner hater can't say for sure that he wouldn't have taken us straight back up. It is a silly thing to say. JB may have produced these results, may have not. JB may have not taken the FA Cup seriously enough and we might have been knocked out by a non league side. Who is to say. What is fact though is JB win percentage, which wasn't good enough this year. I mean sure the wording could have been better as obviously nobody can be 100% sure of anything. ‘Can be very confident’ might have been better. I don’t think you will find a single Gashead confident that Garner would have brought us back up but many could confidently say Barton would have got similar results to Mangan. I’m not sure this needed clarifying but there it is.
