f**k me what have you done now? It will be like poking a bear with a stick, all the Inciders will be out in force again! Nothing to report so no point in contributing. Sadly, I cannot foresee anything happening this side of Christmas. You didn't say which Christmas

Thanks for the report.
Good to see DC scoring so highly, credit where credits due, without him having the balls to roll the dice and make the changes at the time he did we would most likely have been knocked out.
It's only fair to praise him when it comes off given he gets roundly criticised when it doesn't.
Well done to DC and the boys, really looking forward to the replay back at our gaff.

FFS. If this were last year's or the year before squad I would still fancy us to get back into this game but it feels like game over already.

Don't have a specific date or match but my dad used to take me to Eastville when I was a boy so it would have been in the 1970's.
Sadly I never went to see them play at Twerton and life was consumed with school, college, socialising with my non football mates and then getting married and having 3 kids.
Strangely my interest in attending games was rekindled after being invited to attend the last game of the 2013/14 season by my daughter's school when we played Mansfield (we all know what happened then!).
Watching us get relegated to the conference was rough but it made me want to go to start going to watch them play on a regular basis.
I'm now a season ticket holder and attend virtually all home games (barring holidays) with my dad and my 10 year old son. Me and my old man even go to a few away games when we can.
Once a gashead always a gashead!

In the words of Victor Meldrew "I don't believe it!" I just missed our only open play goal of the season as I was running an errand in half time!

Radio Bristol DAB and FM AND Radio Somerset FM all playing Bristol Sh!tty, Radio Somerset DAB playing Yeovile!!! Four stations and three teams to commentate on and we don't get a look in. I'm listening on Radio Bristol DAB, seems fine to me!

C'mon DC and the boys, time for a decent performance and 3 points, don't care how we get them just get them!
Hopefully Payne will put in one hell of a shift to make up for his misdemeanours and prove he is worthy to wear those blue and white quarters.
UTG!

We all know a decent stadium is needed to push on any further than L1 but I don't buy the narrative that if we don't get it soon then we'll be down and out forever. Recent history proves this to be wrong, not very long ago we fell out of the league into the conference and we made it back and are still very well supported by families and children even now when we are struggling for form and near the relegation zone. Also how do you know UWE was our one and only chance, other clubs have had to wait decades for decent facilities and had dreams torn up along the way you know. Just because we are the gas it does not mean we've some divine right to have a brand new stadium. It's going to take time and money to make it happen, we're just going to have to remain patient as we have been for many years, but we also need to stay hopeful and have faith that one day it can and will happen. UTG I get your points, but... are you quite young? I write that not to be condescending but because 'serious' plans for a new stadium have honestly been around since the 1980's. I agree that other football clubs have take years to get where they are now, and some have seen what seemed like hideous delays at the time (e.g. Brighton) but I really, really doubt anyone could even come close to our succession of failed attempts, often with serious plans in place; sometimes even with PP in place. I was watching the 2006/7 highlights DVD the other night and the players were going on about being in the 'best stadium in the west of England' in 2 years time. And they totally, passionately believed it. that was 12 years ago already. City fans must die laughing. Yes they thought they were getting a new ground. yes, it hit a snag. Yes, they thought they could bluster their way through. Yes, they were arrogant and thought money could buy anything. Yes, they should have pulled out earlier... BUT when they finally re-discovered their brains they redeveloped the ground within a few years. At the time all of the above seemed to take ages, but actually it was just a few years and look at what they've already got. We really must be the slowest club in the UK. I'm aware of the history regarding our previous failed plans for stadium developments thank you. You don't have to be old to have knowledge of the history but for what it's worth I'm 47 which I wouldn't consider to be very young but perhaps it is by your standards. You may well be right that we beat all other clubs with the amount of failed attempts but we are Bristol Rovers, with a unique history of our own, true rovers in the sense that we have had to call a number of different places our home over the years, but that does not make us any more entitled to a new stadium does it? Yes we know that lot South of the river are laughing at us, that's easy to do when you are lucky enough to have a billionaire owner who is prepared to throw his money around. Well unfortunately we have not that been that lucky so far and we are having to do it the hard way, that means it will probably take us a lot longer and sadly there's nothing we can do about it but sit tight and keep supporting the club. The point I was responding to was in relation to the suggestion that time is running out for us and unless something is done about it soon we'll be down and out forever. To me that is irrational thinking.

"and are still very well supported by families and children even now when we are struggling for form and near the relegation zone." Is that really true, there doesn't seem many families and children in the West Stand/Enclosure and if we do go down this season there will probably be even less in the family enclosure. If we do miss out on the UWE and it;s not viable to redevelop the Mem it could be a decade or more before we get full pp/build a new stadium elsewhere. That's hardly an exciting prospect given it seems remaining in Div 1 maybe beyond us whilst we're stuck at the Mem. So a decade of watching Div 2, at best, football whilst most likely fighting for financial survival. That's probably because families have moved into the new family stand from other areas of the ground.... That's how popular it is don't you know!

It could one of two ways with Stefan. He will either sulk and basically just give up and move on at the first opportunity or he will play like he did on the first game he played for us and really silence the knockers with goals and skill. I know which one I would like it to be but I fear I could be wrong!! He won’t be in the squad on Saturday due to DC’s rotation policy, so massive sulk I reckon! Oh well at least we’ve got Tom to step back in 😂 I reckon he'll get on at some point even if as a sub, DC might want to give him the opportunity to make amends on the pitch in the best way possible whilst he has the desire to do so.

How are we now? And why can't we continue? Sure there are understandable frustrations but there seems to be a good few people trying to construct a crisis narrative. Employees are getting paid and the owners have supported the manager on and off the field. Because without a decent stadium and infrastructure in today’s footballing climate we have no direction going forward at best league 2 football whilst the red side continue to grow and at some point reach the top tier ( not too far away IMO), then we will see a situation whereby we lose all the potential support from youngsters and families who would like to go and watch decent football in a decent stadium. The UWE was our one and only chance of achieving this and for whatever arguable reason this hasn’t happened. So no we can’t continue much longer something needs to happen and fast before we drop down the leagues and no one then wants to know. I appreciate Upson scored last night but would prefer to have Linsey in for him tbh.
If it wasn't for the fact that he scored the first Rovers goal in a ridiculous about of game time I wouldn't have understood him getting MoM.

Being only 22 the last 4 seasons watching the Rovers and certainly been the best for me and it is for this reason sacking DC would be ludicrous at this moment in time the man took us back from the brink in non-league, how about standing by the man he is one of us and we will be alright we need to get behind him and the team tuesday and i geninely believe 3 pointd gets us looking back up the table. How about standing up and be counted in the hard times as well as enjoying the good. UTG Hooray another DC thread, just what we need! But for the record I agree with you UTG! Well to be fair we could do with a few more positive DC threads to counter balance all the negative ones so well done to the OP!

I'd have the same team as started the second half but swap Upson for Lines.
Goodness knows why DC didn't start with that team. It's bleedin obvious that Matthews and Bennett are some of our most creative players, Sercs came into the game once he was put in a central position.

Oops! You caught me out there. Perhaps Matthews would not be noticed as he's quite dinky isn't he?

Let’s hope that you have a long wait, not that we need support like yours. Perhaps you will be happy down in league 2 or even non league with DC after all that's were he is good and where he belongs cus in league 1 he has not got a clue and is totally out of his depth so good luck to you and the rest of the DC faithful but as far as I am concerned I want my team to be playing well giving 100% and getting results I am not after premiership or championship I just want us to be competitive in this league and build from there and if in a few years time we get into the championship so be it but it ain't gunna happen under DC Well that makes no sense whatsoever. We were competitive in our first season in L1 only missing out on a play off spot by a few games and even last season we were top half until the very end. The team may not be playing well but I don't see any evidence they are not giving 100% for DC and the shirt (except perhaps for Payne). Ok here's a challenge for you. If DC manages to turn this around and we end up with another mid table finish or higher, will you admit he's not out of his depth in L1? To be honest I don't expect you to as your clearly biased against him for some bizarre reason, we can all see it for what it is.

I'm DC in without a shadow of a doubt.
After what he has achieved with us I think he deserves a chance to get us out of the mess we are in at the moment.

Sorry Gasheads I don't post many but, why oh why do we give late goals away. Yesterday those around me anticipated that late goal, call it intuition maybe. 11/8. V Stanley. Lost 1-2. They score 89 mins. 14/8. v Crawley. We won 2-1 but gave a goal away 88 mins 18/8. V Wycombe away. We won 2-1 but gave a goal away 82 mins. 21/8 v Portsmouth. Lost 1-2. They scored 87 mins. 1/9. V Shrewsbury. Drew 1-1. Gave an own goal 73 mins 6/10. v Walsall. Lost 0-1. Scored 90mins + ok that's only 6 games out of 15 although I didn't look for giving goals away on half time. Is this a common problem with most teams? A couple of years ago we were the late goal specialists, how I wish we could regain that form
