These two still haven't signed yet... Never a good sign.. Been there far too many times over the years... Ricky Miller anyone??? I guess they won’t be officially signed until their current contracts expire on the 30th June. My thoughts too, in fact I think the club have been very canny in staggering the releases of the news of contract extensions/rejections. Hargreaves, pause, Kelly, pause, Andre, pause, Hulbert, pause, Armstrong, pause, Walker, pause, Tomlinson, pause, Warwick, pause, nothing over the weekend, OC Yes or No either Monday or Tuesday....then July 1st arrives and the negotiations that have come to fruition can be released...and they might still stagger these or might double dip them....remember when we went from zero to two permanent keepers on the same day? Anyway I think the drip feeding of the playing staff news has kept June communications positive on days where we’re not announcing training ground progress, boardroom and ownership changes or debt to equity conversion info.

Topper, given you’ve posted over 18k posts and Alfie is one of our brighter prospects I guess you might be posting about him several more times whilst he’s with us. If I was a young man trying to make my name in the game I’d hope my own fans would spell it correctly I’m sure you aren’t the only one misspelling it, and it could be your phone’s correction software doing it rather than your fingers and thumbs but as you are the forum member most likely to post more about him maybe you could wean your phone off of the habit? I don’t enter into the grammar and spelling debates usually (up to the individual if they want to use their, there or they’re, definitely or defiantly, your or you’re etc) but I think players names are different. Of course nicknames or initials are fine and in some cases safer...TN was convenient if you weren’t sure whether there was one l or two!

I fear you might be right wilmslow.. It seems to be the way of the world now where money is more important to footballers than ambition and winning trophies.. He could go to Swindon, play 30+ games for them next season or rot away in our reserves for the next 10 months for a nice wage.. All this seemed to start in the late 90s when I remember Chelsea having a really good goalie called carlo cudicini. He was their reserve keeper and would've walked into any other PL team but chose to stay at Chelsea, warming their bench every week creating no football playing memories to tell his grand kids about but collecting a lot of cash for doing absolutely nothing. It seemed such a bizarre phenomenon at the time but now it's the way of the world.. There must be kids kicking balls in parks all over the country dreaming of when they grow up, earning loads of money to warm a bench at a club.. It just seems so wrong. 90s? Carlo Cudicini joined in the 00s and played over 100 games for Chelsea? Can't imagine Bennett has gotten anywhere near close to playing that for us. Agreed Cudicini is not the example of a money grabbing bench sitter that springs to mind when discussing Chelsea, that honour (?) belongs to Winston Bogarde.

Given both Baldwin and Davies have concerning injury records and next season is likely to be congested into a shorter period meaning more midweek games, it would be prudent to have six on the books if your preferred approach is a back three. We could rest Baldwin and Davies for midweek games, play three at the back and still have CB cover on the bench. Let's not get ahead of ourselves though and wait until we actually sign them first!!! You’re surely not doubting Bristol Post Live?

Does a lot of falling over in that first video, he might get £250 if he sends it to You’ve Been Framed. 24 goals in 41 Premier League U18 games. Not doubting he’s worth a look based on your previous meticulous research, just that I don’t think he or his agent have front loaded the good stuff on his highlights reel... if you don’t know him you might just switch off after the first four minutes and say he’s not for us.

Kieran Phillips another released by Everton. Has had a few injuries in the past, but on his day can be a clinical goalscorer. Joined the Huddersfield development side on a loan deal this season and if he hasn't agreed a permanent deal already with them, could be a good one for us. That would be fun ...we could have a front two of Kieran Phillips and Kieran Phillips...then if someone comes in to buy one we could send them the wrong one!!

Cue sax music and dancing macho bikers....always rather fancied a turn at the lectern myself ...Police Academy, now there’s a sign of a misspent youth! If watching Police Academy is the sign of a misspent youth then I would hate to bump into you on a wild night out. Nah you’re right, it was released in 1984 and I didn’t see it in the cinema...so I probably got it from Blockbuster video a couple of years later which would have made me 23. I guess watching it just makes you feel like a naughty schoolboy as that is the level most of the jokes are aimed at!

Everyone is fair game for oldie’s wry sense of humour including oldie himself! One thing is for sure though...a couple of hours with him is never dull!!! You swine sir!! What happened on your stays there, surely. Happy memories of Lincoln away. Been a while, time for a meet. Agreed! Luckily Mr Johnson is going to open the watering holes soon so we might even have a venue to meet in!

Of course two of those negotiating contract offers under the rovers listing have now been resolved and Tomlinson and Armstrong are now off that list. What little we were able to see of Tomlinson suggested there was a player there, although Cameron Hargreaves made more significant strides forward at the back end of the curtailed season. Hopefully both kick on next season.

With Black Lives Matter rightly topical and recent announcements proving to the detractors that the “Sheik” is not so fake maybe we can name it with a nod to our own history and call it Black Araby?

Seeing as a number of old pirate bases were names .... Bay i would go down that route with something like Wael Bay or The Bay. Baywatch? Although I can see that going tits up. We could get Pamela Anderson to cut the ribbon? Wasn’t Baywatch Andy Collett’s nickname?

Seems not everyone is quite so thrilled with this news as are the vast majority of us. On the 'what happens next thread' a few suspects refuse to accept the news for what it is and are looking for ways to find fault with what's undoubtedly a good news story for the club and us fans. These suspects have trumped the 'Wael wants out and the clubs for sale 'theories and Wael does not care , and they do not like it when Wael refuses to confirm or deny there rumours and then what happens? Well you know that scene in Indiana Jones where this 10 foot Arab waves this 10 foot sabre around at Jones? Indiana looks at him ,listens to his rantings, then calmly gets a pistol out and shoots him! Absolute classic! for the Arab read the doubters ,for Indiana read Wael! Indiana Wael and the Raiders of the lost [training] park Indiana Wael and the Temple of Fruit Indiana Wael and the Last Crew’s Aid Indiana Wael and the Kingdom of the Bristol Skull and Crossbones
