Suspect it was sent to people who initially provided feedback in the first survey when it was sent? Which was potentially sent to all season ticket holders at that point? Anyway, I Dam love a meltdown. Clearly these are concepts, graphical indications to steer the design process, and yet as soon as they get out it’s the badge design and it’s awful. Classic. Can’t say I was enthused by much of the design work (graphics and typeface very meh) but let’s see a finalised draft before making an informed decision. Even just as a theme suggestion or a concept, putting those images out there is embarrassing. Why? It’s data harvesting. If there was just questions without imagery the designers would get the same feedback. However using imagery helps get an idea/message across.

Heard a rumour there’s going to be a new housing estate near Hortham Lane . Any truth in this ? I understand that this is untrue. An exclusive development of 6/7 bedroom executive homes is conceivable. The players and staff of local professional sporting teams would be given preferential treatment. Supporters with connections to Wiltshire towns and villages might be second priority. My sources are confidential. Sorry. And even that lot would complain, after purchase, that a big group of loud men turn up daily and shout and swear and kick balls at their fence all the time. Estate turned down at committee.

As an aside to this debate. Have been in the East Stand in the past and was there yesterday for the ffsc sponsored Greggs gas game. There has been debate on here in the past about why this stand could not be extended each side for the full length of the pitch. It has even said on several occasions that it can't be because the sight lines would not allow those in the stand to see the corner flags etc on that side of the pitch. Yesterday I had a good look and what has been said is a loads of bollocks! Sat right at the back and roughly on the halfway line, both corner flags and the touchline line can be clearly seen. Couldn't let this slide… From your vantage point maybe. Come on down a few rows and I’ll guarantee its not bollocks, you can’t see the near side touch line/corner when we are attacking (no laughing at the back) the Blackthorn End. The view from the East Stand is great but it’s a shambolic bit of design and engineering - built at all the wrong angles and not full length. Carry on!

You could argue 25 years of kids stood on the barriers (been there, done it) was probably good for crowd control. Whilst not strictly adhering to SAG policy, using kids as a human shield for the most part stopped the knobheads invading the pitch!

I’ve said this before so I’ll say again. The present condition of the Mem is holding back the progress of BRFC. We need get out ASAP. The problem is for the time being we have no where to go and are going to be stuck at the Mem for at least another five years. Club should set aside a budget to have the tents removed and replaced with a larger L shaped temporary stand that is not a tent but bespoke with a hard roof same could be done on one or both sides of the east stand extending the stand, other clubs have done this such as Bournemouth and Blackpool . it would increase seating and capacity and we would not need this thread. The sentiment is correct but the reality ends up like the go outdoors family stand we’ve had to endure for the last few years! There isn’t enough room on the East side of the stadium to introduce temporary stands without ruining the sight lines of the existing stands. If there was a way to do it, it would probably impact the terracing and therefore capacity won’t increase so why would you spend the money? Might be feasible at the South and South West corner but depends on restrictions of height etc. and same principle - if you aren’t going to increase capacity, why would you do it?! The Mem was butchered when the East and West, two relatively new stands when we moved in, weren’t built the full length of the pitch straight out the gate. With that, the proposed North stand and could have been built and a half decent South stand to create an alright gaff. As it is, I am in the camp of why bother polishing the turd and really hope we are down the line on the Fruitbowl or anything else.

Any new Stadium would be great of course. To me it just doesn’t feel right at the FM. It has to be be North Bristol, certainly the right side of the river Fruit bowl is the right side of the river. Just!

You only need to look over the river to the new tower by Totterdown Bridge to see that anything can be built new water/marshland. The groundworks that went into that were very extensive and would be for anything on the fruit market site too for whatever is built.
Most planning permissions on brownfield land come with pre commencement conditions in regards to contaminated land so its prudent to know what you are dealing with before you purchase a site.

Professionalism often means profit over people. Has anyone heard that the club oversold the few remaining car park spaces, which meant that about 10 loyal Rovers fans who all had a car park season tickets, were not allowed in. They pay almost £200 and some have elderly or disabled passengers and were told the car park was full so had to park elsewhere. Re the stewards haven't the club outsourced them, so they are just hired rather than FC employees, so the club saves on NI conts, sick pay, pension and OT? I remember reading in the programme years ago how many club stewards had gained qualifications in first aid or crowd safety and they recd regular stadium safety training. The new stewards are just rented from an agency. With no stadium manager god knows what we would do in a real emergency, or if fighting really kicked off. He may have been maligned but we dont even have the Bing Bong man on the tannoy anymore. I assume it does get tested regularly so the club know it works? Also cheesed off that although I turned up just after 2pm, the programmes were almost sold out. The first seller I went to said they sold out about 20 minutes before. I went to the SC shop and they had just 5 left. I don't know the stats but would guess half the crowd turn up after 2.30, so around 4,500 probably had no chance of getting one. They want to attract young fans and get them used to attending. I bet lots of youngsters would like a progrfingerith nice colour pictures of their heroes as a momento, but loads dont get the chance. A lot of football supporting is based on doing the same things. Buy a programme, 50/50 and pasty and then week after week it becomes second nature. Although Dave Bright and TG may be professionals, are they football fans? Do they have that instinctive feel of what a fan wants? They are putting a stop on the process if the kid can't even get a programme, they probably won't get the bug of collecting and that means less money for the club. They talk about history and tradition but having no imagination and just rehashing old kit design via the Terrace and the badly drawn life like caricature (sic) player mugs doesn't do it for me. If we are in the play offs I hope the club pull their finger out. It’s 2022 and you think kids want a tangible, physical program instead of just reading any content digitally? Cool story.

State of this thread. Archaic forums due to go the way of fax machines, Walkmans and cash as far as I’m concerned. Yet you’re on here … I like winklepickers too. Sue me.

With my unbelievable match thread record and the opportunity to shut up the naysayers once and for all (8 winning match threads in a row now) I couldn't resist but start another. Home games only, cherry picked. The Edgar Davids of this whole shenanigans!

Stuff like this knobs me off. It used to be players would come through the league and if they were good enough end up in the PL. Now the fuckers are even hoovering up all of the talent in non league. Where are we meant to get our players from?

I've driven (mostly) from Brislington to the Mem. I've walked from Brislington to the Mem. I've got a bus from Brislington to the Mem. I've ridden a Voi scooter from Brislington to the Mem. I've got an Uber from Brislington to the Mem. Hell, I've even got the train from BTM to Montpelier and walked the rest. If you want to go, you'll go or find a way to do so and the costs will be a part of your routine like it is now (even if you drive currently... thats a cost). Clearly I am biased so the Fruit Market is going to be a fantastic location and its next to about 8 microbreweries so bring it on and leave the car at home. And hats off for you doing that, admire the commitment. Bags its not commitment and I wasn't after thanks. It was just stating that if you want to do something you have to travel if it isn't on your doorstep. I am going to a gig in Birmingham in a few months (don't start me on the lack of arena meaning I have to do this...) but because I want to do it I have to travel. A change in location/circumstances may make it more difficult for some and it seems that might be the case for you and your old man. However on the flip side it is going to be made infinitely better for others - thems the breaks. If you want to go you'll find a way and if you can't, you won't. PS As you say, its one hell of a heated debate about something that hasn't happened at a place that isn't confirmed so bollocks to it - back on the scooter for me this weekend
