Very very poor today. I’ve been a big advocate of Taylor but he’s got a job on to turn this around. He should be given a window to shape his own squad but the signs aren’t good. I agree with that. Like I’ve said on the other thread though, now MT has lost the faith of a proportion of the fanbase, it’s going to be a struggle for him. If he keeps his job, which I hope he does, and we don’t get off to a flying start next season, the knives will be out I’m sure.

I have lost interest as we have been truly awful. If fit Aguilera, McCormick, Ward, Brown and possibly Marquis need to start Monday. Sinclair, Vale, Wilson, Finley need to be out. I thought Sinclair was one of the few who was up for it today. Aguilera looked lively when he came on Aguilera was our best player at Lincoln too, albeit only for a short cameo.

It is always a little unfair to judge a manager when he is working with someone else’s players. It seems to me like we have a bunch of players who don’t care about the club because most of them won’t be here next season. They are picking up a wage and waiting for their agents to get them a new club for next season. That being said, a manager’s job is to motivate his players and organise a side that can get results. We have a team who look completely unorganised and disengaged. I think MT will get pre-season and a chance to shape the squad in a way he wants but I think he’s swimming upstream now. It seems that a lot of the fanbase don’t have faith in him and that’s a very difficult position to come back from. The problem with MT is his interviews. He spent few weeks always calling the players weak and generally said the wrong things. I doubt players took to being called weak very well. As the leader, you need to give a politician answer sometimes, protect the players and convince the fans it will be better next week. I disagree. He wasn’t happy with performances but he didn’t scold individuals. I think he was telling it as it is. Don’t forget, he was new to the job and wanting to make a good impression. He’s not going to take the blame and turn fans against him by saying the players are working hard but I don’t know how to manage them.

I’d take DC back in a heartbeat.

Can see a defeat here. They have it all to play for. Some of ours seem to have checked out. Literally this.

I thought it at Lincoln and I know it today - we have downed tools. Our conference side would take these to bits.

There was a lot of expectation and excitement when Vale signed. He seemed like a massive coup. Lots on here were hoping for or maybe expecting an Anderson-type impact.
If he was on loan from Blackpool or Bolton, I don’t think there’s many Gasheads who would be clambering for another season of Vale. The fact he’s highly-rated and from Chelsea has, in my opinion, clouded judgement. I can’t think of too many stand-out performances.
I’m not bothered about keeping any of our loanees.

Just back from the game (live a few miles out of Sheffield). Thought we were exposed for what we are against a team bang in form. We could have scored a couple but we certainly got what we deserved in terms of a heavy defeat.
The rumours around the away end were that certain players aren’t playing for the manager. I don’t know if that’s true.
One thing I will say in well done Aguilera. His cameo was possibly the only bright spark. He was positive, direct and aggressive. He needs to get more minutes.

Heard a Gashead phone in this evening while on my way home.
The debate was whether you’d take an England win in the Euros over success for your club side.
Said caller said he’d rather see England win the Euros than Rovers win something.
I completely disagree. Club over country for me. That’s probably because of how disillusioned I am with football at the top level and the lack of support for lower league sides.
What do you think?

Taking my 11 and 4 year old. Fully expecting a beating on both sides’ current form.

Not gas related but there was a player in the 90's or 00's called Barry Wardrobe, he played for a number of clubs Inc Sunderland where they loved him, he sort of became part of the furniture there, he played as a striker, apparently he was quite a tallboy. UTG. And who could ever forget Colin Chestofdrawers 😁 Then there was Alan Cupboard. He was more of a utility player.

I thought city were floating about in mid table. I don’t really follow the championship to be honest. Some quotes on their new manager:
‘’Worst football in years. Get rid of the clueless PE coach.’’
‘’ Get rid of the boring c***’’
‘’To many of these performances under manning. He’s out of his depth. As for Lansdown and Tinnion, truly **** off ’’
“Should never have been appointed. Gtfo now and take tins with you. ”
“Sack how, that's sum of the worst football I see in a long time“
“ Manning has lost the fans and the players it seems. He has to go.”
“Sack the doorstop!”
“Manning, his coaching team, analysts and most importantly TINNION all must go”
“l see lots of signs of concern, we're absolutely terrible, awful to watch.”
“Manning ball is boring football . Manning is clueless like Jon Lansdown”

Commentator said our chairman was interviewed before the match? Judging by the lack of mentions here he didn't say anything of substance? Aiming for Champions league now apparently.. That’s a lack of ambition for me. Should be looking at joining the European super league.
