Big article on Ben Garner in today’s Times. Moving abroad with announcement on Wednesday. Talks about lack of opportunities in this country and mentions him being linked to us. Interesting to see where he is going and how he does.

Didn't we have a loan keeper recalled in January and then went on loan to Norwich instead. Think it was Foster but not sure. Yes, it was Forster who played a handful of games for us before moving to Norwich. Word was that they were willing to pay his full wages of £5000pw which we couldn’t compete with. Quite rightly to be honest though the board got some stick at the time I seem to recall.

Anyone know the attendance and away following? Attendance was 1,705. Still waiting for the away following. 523 according to Barnet official site - pretty impressive!

Nigel Martyn Neil Slatter Larry Lloyd Steve Elliot Terry Cooper Vitalis Astafjevs Ian Holloway David Williams Ray Graydon Rickie Lambert Jason Roberts Terry Cooper was a class apart during his stay with us. World Cup winner Alan Ball another to remember as he came to the end of his career. Totally agree re Cooper. Always seemed to me to be the best player on the park whenever he played. Didnt seem to run very much but was absolutely a class apart. More in midfield than full back for us as I recall.

Excellent from Bristol Live:
Good evening We’re in place at the Hawthorns for tonight’s game between Bristol Rovers and West Ham United’s under-21s side.
Kick-off is at 7.45pm tonight and we’ll have all the build-up across the next few hours.
Let’s get stuck into it!

One of my favourite away pubs the Bricklayers Arms, 2 minutes from station. Nothing much else to recommend in Luton!

Radio Bristol saying not a free kick let alone a yellow.
Martin won ball apparently but referee bowed to pressure from Shrews players and crowd.

Why would we want a 20 year old with no experience as opposed to a 29year old with over 300 senior appearances?
Kelly had a god debut on Tuesday imo and hopefully the first of many to come but a short term loan of a highly experienced player makes complete sense to me.

I am a home owner in Bristol (amongst other places) so know how much things cost here, but you cant say 15 years when they can carry on working after football.
It all begs the question why Slocombe signed in the first place
Yeah, I took the bits about the mortgage out of my post, coz I thought it was largely irrelevant, and I really don't know how footballers, etc, are considered by mortgage companies. Thinking about it, probably no different to anyone else. Not sure that it would be that easy to get a mortgage if you only had a 12 month contract tbh

Really good picture quality from a single camera. Commentary is good too. Can't seem to cast it from my phone to my TV though. Is it Radio Bristol commentary, Screen Soccer if they are still going or commentary from an independant neutral source? Radio Bristol commentary with Keith Brookman

Far better than I was expecting. Expensive at £10 but I felt it was worth it.
