I read that we changed our name as follows. Black Arabs Eastville rovers Bristol eastville rovers Bristol rovers How can we therefore change directly from eastville to Bristol? I'm sure this was in an official club book? Anyone shed any light? I too thought we were known as Bristol Eastville Rovers. Just had a look on Wiki and it states that over a few years at the end of the 19th century we gradually became known as Bristol Eastville Rovers and on 7th Feb 1899 we officially changed our name to Bristol Rovers. So it looks like Bristol Eastville Rovers was never an official name. Although Wiki could be wrong. Wiki is definitely wrong. As I said in a previous post I have evidence that proves we changed our name to Bristol Rovers Football Club on 30th August 1899.

Unfortunately that is incorrect. I have a copy of the minutes of " a special meeting of shareholders of Eastville Rovers Football Club" dated Wednesday August 30th 1899. The special meeting requested " that the title of the company be altered from Eastville Rovers Football Club to Bristol Rovers Football Club". The proposition was carried unanimously. UTG

I don't understand why you mentioned that he was short, unless there was a relevance to it. Is there any reason why you mentioned that he was short? Same reason I mentioned he was a Bristol Rovers fan. And you do know who it is don't you? Still don't see the reason to bring up someone's appearance, but by human nature some people may feel it is relevant to point it out. I think I might know who it is.

What relevance has his height got to do with his decision making? Didn't say it did effect his decision making, you're the only one to say that so perhaps you can expand on what you mean? I don't understand why you mentioned that he was short, unless there was a relevance to it. Is there any reason why you mentioned that he was short?

What is "a short Rovers fan"? Is it someone who hasn't supported the club for long, or a short person who supports Rovers? A fan of very long standing who isn't very tall What relevance has his height got to do with his decision making?

Owned by the same people so does not make one jot of difference It will do if Dwayne Sports walk away. The history of this site is that Dings RFC were going to move to this site which was going to be developed and owned by another company and Dings would lease it, essentially what is happening now. And it has to be said Dings aren't there because a short Rovers fan was their lead sponsor and had the casting vote and the proposal was defeated by his vote. PS can everyone spit everytime they read Dings as they are a horrible unlikeable rugby club What is "a short Rovers fan"? Is it someone who hasn't supported the club for long, or a short person who supports Rovers?

I wonder who Toni (TW) will be supporting? Who cares? It's been keeping me awake at night. The unknown is killing me.

Plus I don't think his brother and dad are in charge of the project. Thought we had 2 other people in charge of it, one who was in charge of the Wembley build?? He did they would be the ones to make the announcement. I heard some time ago that the "Wembley" man may no longer be dealing with this any more. So who told you that?

Steve H didn't give any details as to when this would happen. I guess the scheme has become surplus to requirements now we have a single major share holding owner. That's the reason I asked the question last night. Maybe converting it into a youth development sponsorship scheme would allow those of us who want to contribute to the club to continue to do so. just an idea. The Share Scheme is run by BRSC and not BRFC.
It is for BRSC to decide if and when the Share Scheme closes or is amended to a different purpose.
I am not a member of the Share Scheme but am sure this matter will be raised again at the BRSC AGM in November.
If BRFC decides not to issue any more shares to BRSC, how could it possibly continue?

A newspaper trying to derail the England team FFS who cares what Sam says or thinks he is employed to do a job, otherwise get Mrs Miggins in from the WI no scandal there! If Mrs Miggins agrees to drop Hart, I'd bring her in now!

It appears that we are not the only football team that have switched suppliers and are having problems getting their kit for the first game. KitJust seen a clip of Rovers led out by Lockyer on Twitter just now. Wearing the new away kit. sh**test thread ever? ITK is no longer ITK!

Threads like this happen when someone isn't fed "itk" stuff anymore. RIP Gasincider. I think that there are 2 ITK's who regularly come on this forum, that have had their noses pushed out of joint. It is sad.

A more interesting photo would have been from the RyanAir flight to Gerona, departing Bristol at 13.05. Were they selling pies on it?

Yes, yes, I know.....Immigration is good for the country, diversity, multi culti etc etc.....NHS can't work without migrants....... But what is the reality? It's a subject that is difficult to broach because of the racist nonsense that gets thrown about. The German Government are releasing a lot of data about the 1,000,000+ migrants that have arrived in Germany over the last eighteen months. Here are a few official government stats. 74% of the migrants have either very low educational standards, or none at all. This means that they will only ever be able to perform menial jobs, or will exist on benefits. Of the top sixty companies on the German Dax (their version of the FTSE), only fifty four migrants have found jobs........That's right, 54 ! Migrants that are considered 'highly skilled' amounts to about 12,000 people, although getting jobs is difficult because of the language problems. The migrants will cost the German Government 25 billion euros this year alone. linkAnd look what happens when countries take these immigrants in, they shoot & kill 9 people in broad daylight. Wasn't the killer born in Germany?

Golf is basically snooker combined with a stroll in the countryside. I agree, I think it is a great skill but not a sport.

Think we'll lose this one. That seems to be Exeter's strongest 11. Exeter are fielding a completely different team for the second half. Is it going to be 5 aside?
