Who'd have thought back then that a thousand days later we'd be where we are today, and that there would still be people moaning.

Just announced on points west that Rovers had a disappointing game today, failing to score against Coventry. Final score 0-0! Just when I thought they couldn't get any more incompetent.

Signed. My sincere condolences to you and your family. Mental health is the most horrendous problem, not only for the victim, but for their family and friends. If someone has a physical illness at least there are usually practical ways that you can help, but with mental health it is so difficult to know what to do. My heart goes out to you. May she rest in peace.

Have to say, I have immense respect for the man for attending the match yesterday. Speaking from personal experience I have to say that any public display (banners, applause etc) may be difficult for him. I'm sure he will know the depth of feeling and empathy we all have for him. Perhaps messages of condolence via the club would be more appropriate .

I have absolutely LOVED all your responses - THANKYOU!!! Oh please please please can we have a wives section - us GH wives could share SOOOO MUCH - a wife's opinion on subjects like the "main sail in a cup" surely is worth it? "Moderator be the instigator"! Good idea. We could call it The lady's garden

My apologies if this has been raised before. As a newbie to the forum, I am acutely aware that posting a comment that is critical of established members will be seen by some as pretentious or downright rude. It is not my intention to upset anyone, but sometimes a new viewpoint can prove useful. My comment concerns the overuse and frankly ridiculous use of the quote facility. I've been trying to read historical threads to get a feel for the forum and to avoid asking unnecessary questions. However, the overuse of quotes has been driving me nuts, and makes reading some threads a laborious trial. There are many 10 page threads that could be 2 pages without all the quotes. Some selective quotes are necessary and help with the flow and clarity of a thread but the overall majority are superfluous. A prime example is the excellent assessment of the Crawley game by syevek192 'At least we get another chance but should have won'. His long post is interesting and informative, but did the first two responders really need to quote his entire post simply to make a one line comment? Unnecessary quotes should be removed by mods/admin. I am a member of another, non-football related forum which suffered from the same problem. Following action by mods, members soon got the hang of it and the forum improved 100%. Hopefully, this post will be accepted in the spirit that is intended and not seen as a newbie whinge. You can quote me on that. Best wishes, Terry Me too.

How is it any different than our warm up mix tape or Nick Day forcing Sweet Caroline on us for no apparent reason?? Still not sure about sweet caroline myself. What it the song has to do with ua to played every week i dont know. I like it. Bit of fun, and it adds to the atmosphere.

Don't think they'd be able to do that for our chants. The asterisk button would wear out!
