Browns got a great powerful shot. Maybe not the finesse needed for penalty taker though I do like his free kicks and he's definitely the man to stand on the edge of the box for corners. I actually think we're going to either make the play offs or just miss out i can see us winning five or six of our last 7. How about Browner to get the winner with his right foot v Millwall to send us into the play offs. Nah Luke James is going to score his first and last goal for us to send us up at Wembley. All part of the rise of the rovers mythology. hope so - not that I necessarily want it to be his last - if he starts scoring.

Whatever he is I don't think he will be here next year unless he starts scoring goals, as that is what we need.

"I think he's good enough" Serious question, nothing else. What, from what you have seen of him, makes you think he is good enough? His passing , tackling and determination are all good and he leaps well and wins headers. It's pretty much his lack of goals is the only bad thing I can say about him. Not good enough so far for a striker but certainly good enough as a player. Yes I thought he did well left midfield/wing when Taylor was still here.

Weren't they one of the bands that couldn't play any musical instruments and used session artists I'm afraid my knowledge of the Bay City Rollers does not stretch that far. Maybe Hugo can help us out. Think they were just tartan about.

Constant war in remote places Once we hated Russia, then we liked Russia. Now we hate Russia. We have always hated Russia. Orwell was indeed a genius as he tied it in to the specifics of all authoritarian regimes. "Memory holes" are a key part of it and that term should live forever as its a brilliant one liner to represent the suppression of free media and the revision of history. Glad I have some fellow independent minded Gasheads. Perhaps we can share a verse of Irene as we are shipped off to the re education camps! I wouldn`t mind being re educated. All I wanted to do at school, was play football and cricket. Hardly listened to anything the teachers said. Wot - no fags in the park shelter or pinball in the local cafe - what sort of school did you go to?

I aam of the opinion that whoever is the usual pen taker should always take them (except maybe if someone is on a hat trick) But who is that? Aside from Bodin when he was on a hat trick we no longer have a regular one! Yeah, I was wondering if we had one any more? Lee Browne used to take them at one time.

That's fair enough Steve (and Topper) I wasn't there so can't say and was trying to make a point about referees generally not about Tuesday. I respect that you see all of Rovers matches and will have a good comparison with other refs. Having seen the number of matches you do you will have a good benchmark to measure him against, I don't. But I will see 30-40 matches a season and probably 20 or so as a neutral and that is different and gives a very different perspective on referees. He did sound very poor. I still feel that fans of clubs see matches very differently in the heat of the moment compared to a neutral who can sometimes see it just as a decision. And my earlier point about expecting the FA to do something is tantamount to believing in fairies at the bottom of the garden! But I agree with you about the inconsistency being so frustrating esp when people have spent money, time and effort to go to a match 200 miles away. Let's hope for someone a lot better tomorrow. UTG! I think it's just part of supporting the team. I think when we're shouting 'you don't know what you're doing,' most of us realise they are probably actually quite good at refereeing, and know their stuff. And when we shout for a throw-in, for example, sometimes we know full well it's not really ours, or it's a fifty-fifty, and we really don't know whose throw-in it is. And sometimes when we shout 'cheat' at a player, we don't really think he's cheating, we're just trying to wind him up, etc. And sometimes when we scream for a hand-ball in the penalty area, it's only really wishful thinking, and we'd be delighted if the ref gave a pen, but we don't really think it is one. Personally I like that about going to games, and I think the match-day experience would be the poorer, were we to watch the game and quietly comment from as neutral a position as we can manage on a reasonable synopsis of the recent play. Or if we were to make a noise, but be so unbiased as to shout stuff like 'Who's the highly-qualified, dedicated sports arbitrator without whom we wouldn't even be able to even hold the match in the black?' or 'to be fair you're trying your best and we fully realise that and you know you are!' Disagree. I think we should judge the refereeing impartially and clap the opposition good play with shouts of 'Bravo', and 'I say, well played chaps,' and all that. Oh all right then = The referee's a w****r

The Chesterfield BotS is a set of Pro star cards from the early 90's. I think it was an American company that wanted to introduce baseball style dealing cards to England to rival the Pannini and Figurini sticker market. It features a full colour card and pen pic for a few players from every club in the league. The Rovers players featured are Ian Hazel. Tony Pounder, Justin Skinner and Big Dev. Also in their respective team colours were Gary Mabbutt, Nigel Martyn, Ollie, John Taylor, Dennis Bailey, Garry Thompson, Wally Walters and Billy Bodin's Dad. Again, this item has been donated, so no cost to the club and may mean that we get bids from non Rovers fans. If anyone is going to the programme and merchandise fayre at the Men tommorrow, please mention this. You never know a full set may be worth something. Quite fancy those being a bit of a ciggy/tea card fan. Ok I am a bit off the game here, but how do you bid? Is it ebay?

I think Moore / Montano are worth a punt upfront. Montano is relatively good getting back whereas Moore leaves us fairly open defensively so I'd be Moore inclined to play him upfront than montano. Normally I think Clarke would see this as an opportunity for a three man midfield but with Sinclair out it'll be interesting to see if he goes with Mansell in a 3 or someone unexpected in Midfield or attack. Moore, maybe - but rather have Monty on the wing.

Lets face it he (Lucas) was mainly a bench warmer at Boreham Wood. Nowhere near ready for league one yet. As for Easter I would be happy to have him as a squad member next year.

Does any club really disappear these days? Don't they just go into administration and then reappear magically in the league below, debt free? And Gasheads know that a year in the conference might actually be a good thing for the club. Wimbledon FC Hereford Utd Darlington FC Chester City Scarborough FC Rushden & Diamonds Halifax Town Salisbury City
All went properly bust, with new clubs set up by fans re-entering the pyramid near the bottom.
Don't think Wimbledon went bust
