I don't think Azza has been the same since the first rumours of his value, and potential move upwards etc started circulating. This was inevitable following the period when his form and performances were earning rave reviews. I think he wanted and expected a big move at that time and he would have gone with all our best wishes i think. Since then his form has gradually fallen away giving rise to frustration for player and fans , even more upsetting is his apparent less than perfect attitude leading to him making the very unprofessional decision 'I do not want to play'. Many fans will ,not surprisingly, be upset by this. This was IMHO a big mistake by him, unlikely as it was that he would start yesterdays game and will have cost him much good will, hope the situation is resolved quickly now so his standing with fans does not sink any lower, Good luck Azza and thanks for the memories. I don't know whether it was his own decision, or advice from his agent or whatever.
Basically refusing to play is a pretty sh*tty way to go about things, it could also backfire for him as he still has 18 months on his contract, so as Matt Taylor mentioned post match it's completely in our hands, if Wrexham, Bolton or any other clubs with interest don't match our valuation then he ain't going anywhere.
It's also a bit billy big b*llocks when his form has continued to rapidly decline for a long while now.

Wrexham fan here, I come in peace. Don't trust that TC9 account on Twitter. Thanks to the brilliant genius of one Elon Musk, anyone can get free engagement by paying for a "tick" and earn literal pennies by mentioning us. That same account linked us to so many players this month that it's absurd - including the likes of Lawrence Shankland who's either going to Rangers or in a Championship team. Before I get too distracted, we play in a 3-5-2 with wingbacks, and away from home if we're chasing a goal we switch to a 4-4-2 diamond. A lot of our fans are slightly concerned about Collins' attitude, but also how would he fit with us. I noticed that last season he bagged most of the goals and assists by playing left wing, which undoubtedly is (only) slightly concerning. He's very versatile, no doubt, and Phil Parkinson loves those kinds of players. Interested in your opinions Gasheads
If you sign the 2022 version of Aaron Collins then you are getting a brilliant player, certainly for League 2, scores all types of goals, creates plenty, very skilful with trickery, flair and arrogance.
If you sign 2023/early 2024 Aaron Collins you are getting a pale shadow of the above, doesn't score and his skill, trickery, flair and arrogance has just vanished, and he looks completely disinterested. One small plus he does still create plenty though as his assists tally shows.
Hope this helps?

Get in!
What a difference a few days make.
Jed Ward is now our Number 1, not even an argument. Looked confident, assured and commanding, and made a superb save near the end. Deserved MOM.
I thought Crama had a really good game today, great dominating performance, didn't put a foot wrong.
Kamil Conteh looked every bit the player we hope he is, keeps it simple, comfortable in possesion, looks to get on the ball and keeps the ball moving, also gets stuck in and looks a real quality box to box midfielder.
Well done Gas!

Makes you wonder what kind of injury sidelines you for the best part of two seasons. Always thought ACL was the worst knee injury but advances in medical now you’re back on a pitch in 9 months Torn or ruptured Achilles are pretty bad as well. Its not just months recovering from the actual injury itself, but mentally it's horrific. Most Footballers who have fully ruptured their achilles pretty much lose all their acceleration and pace and are never the same. The best example was John Barnes. One of the best wingers I've ever seen incredible acceleration, pace, power, when he ruptured his achilles he completely lost all that, and when he returned he could hardly walk, let alone run.

I don't think it's anything to be sad about. People moan about the money in modern day Football, wages, transfer fees, ticket prices etc. I actually think it's to be admired that we haven't broken our transfer record. Especially when you think of the players we've signed since Tilson. Hayles, Roberts, Ellington, Lambert etc. I don't think it's sad or as embarrassing as people like to think. £1m on JCH or 3 lots of £300k on three separate players. I think the latter would be better use imo. (Figures are illustrative only 🙄) Suppose it depends. I'm not against us smashing our transfer record if we can afford it and it's the right player. I just think it should still be applauded that we haven't If we sign 3 players like Hayles, Roberts and Lambert for the price of JCH, amazing. At the same time it could be Scott Jones, Tom Nichols and Stephan Payne which wouldn't be 🙂 You also know what you're getting with JCH

Apparently over £350,000 in instalments. So yes we’ve likely broken that record (at last!) 👍🏾 Sadly it’s not. 300k I believe I don't think it's anything to be sad about. So £300k is the fee apparently. So what was the actual release clause? Any of the ITK'rs know? Have we actually managed to haggle and get a better deal for the club? As per my question earlier in the thread, does this make us less shambolic now we've managed to get the signing of a highly regarded, young gem with huge potential over the line? Genuine question, as rumours were the deal was nearly dead according to some. The release clause was less than 250k. No it doesn’t make us less shambolic because incompetence has cost us money. Fair enough. But release clauses are generally secret aren't they? Unless it's LJ, Matty Taylor and his agent. People were suggesting it would smash our record fee, Grimsby fans saying it could be X,Y,Z. This is the first I've heard of it being £250k. We've managed to get it over the line anyway. Looks a very good signing with huge potential.

I will be complaining directly to the club out our admin. The bloke is an absolute tool, and makes us, our club look like utter penis'. It's the way of the World now. Social Media 'banter' Every club does it, City did it with the snake, I remember Shrewsbury releasing a video taking the p*ss after we all moaned about their antics. As childish as it is, it's the norm these days. It's harmless.

Jordan Rossiter is one of those players I think you should take a punt on in the hope you can possibly get them fit if you're a lower league club.
Just like Jamie Shore.
If Rossiter didn't have injury & fitness issues he would probably be playing in Liverpools midfield not showing up at Rovers or Fleetwood.
Same with Jamie Shore he wouldn't of been anywhere near Rovers, he would've racked up hundreds of Premier League appearances and possibly multiple England Caps if he didn't have a knee made of Play-Doh!

Somethings got to give Topper !. Either Taylor is treated like Barton and we know what happened or the board invest heavily to avoid relegation. Its been pointed out by some " all the money is gone on Barton and Co " and the board is confident this is one of the best budgets in the division. If the board is that confident then it don't bode well for bode well for Taylor . The fact we are apparently trying to sign a player valued at £250K seems to suggest the owners are backing MT. Is it a fact? 'Apparently' we were trying to sign the most prolific League 1 striker for a club record fee back in August. How did that turn out?

That was a blatant pen.
On the line of the box but that's classed as inside.
The ref as ever for this level was disgraceful.

As has been the story of our season.
Create more chances than the opposition but don't take them.
Whereas they take advantage of our defensive frailties and punish us by putting theirs away.

Great finish.
What he lacks in mobility he makes up for in guile and invention.
Not the 1st time he's scored with a deft back heel or cute flick.

Tonight wasn't unlucky at all.
We got what we deserved.
Norwich didn't even want this, they were urging us to win.
Sh*t 2nd half and capitulated.

Sh*t 2nd Half.
Oh well always next year.
Although we'll probably get knocked out by Peterbrough in the 1st Round

How about other L1 managers and Championship managers? Not seemingly been any Championship interest and not many options in League One that can afford his current wage demands. That's the key issue. I'm sure pretty much every League 1 club would want JCH, but they can't or won't match his wage demands as well as paying a fee. There'll be a lot more interest in the summer I'm sure when he's out of contract.

Suppose it all depends on whether their manager and players feel the same way as the majority of their fans do.
Do they really need an extra fixture where they'll probably be embarrassed live on TV?
Norwich's aim is promotion back to the PL where they'll get huge financial rewards for doing so, and they'll get to play Liverpool at least twice by doing so also.
They've also played Liverpool reguarly over the years anyway.
Whereas it's a huge incentive for Rovers as we haven't played Liverpool for over 30 years since the last FA Cup game back in 92, we haven't played a 'Big Boy' for a long time and it's hugely rewarding for a club like ours financially.
