Call me greedy but when in my lifetime have we had much success, so I want both!
So England for Euro, WC, Home Championship, Inter toto malarkey, and Rovers for promotion, Mickey Mouse, League Cup and FA cup.
Alternatively, I'd settle for the youth/ reserves winning the Gloucestershire Cup, or the Fry's sixes!

But we're all experts on here anyway - especially after the final whistle!

Seems as if we have now gone back to coughlan ball. A packed turgid defensive line with one guy up top to score a goal.all them wasted years after ipswich Agreed to a point. If Big John didn't seem to lose his way in front of goal, maybe MT would have played two up front a few times by now? Then again all season we have been short of forwards. Still, better to wait until the summer and get a player or three they actually want, than waste the Collins money on whoever was available. Good to see Greenslade score and apparently start playing well in the National League, so maybe he might get a few chances from the bench next season as 4/5th choice. I can see Martin starting about 15 and being supersub for the rest of the games next season.

To the chagrin of a few others, I hope he plays 4 at the back with Gordon and Hoole.
TBH towards the end of the season, I would look to play Connolly rather than Baggott. He is under contract for next season and had a great partnership with Connor before.
Throw in Jed and that is a very young defence.

2006 won 2-3 with 89th equaliser and 90th minute winner - that was a good day, last time I went there .. I think 🤔 Yeah big John Anderson scoring a rare goal. Away end (and side) went absolutely mental. Seem to remember players actually in the away end and fans on the pitch. Didn't Trolls and Lennie say bid John was going to be our scout in Scotland looking at potential young talent in the Highland league?

Congratulations to the girls.
Let's hope this raises their profile and they get the support they deserve.

Great way to spend Mothers Day.
Mind you perfect for those who have a Les Dawson type mother in law I suppose!
Were currently chopping spuds ready for a late dinner, bit like national service but better than being at AG!

While on the train home, really Enid Blyton hahaha. Only Gordons and Hoole's nearest and dearest would think either could be classed as being a footballer, the pair are absolutely shocking, and watching them yesterday I am sure, even good old monotone Matty, must be thinking I cannot play these two clowns in the first 10 games of next season, or I will be back looking out of the sunny window with Mr Tisdale by November. Perfectly entitled to your opinion, but you may have witnessed Gordon walking round the pitch and receive very warm applause by supporters all around the areas he walked. Both very young with scope to improve physically and mentally to professional football and a chance to learn about the dark arts and gain vital experience and know how. The FACT that thousands of youngsters don't make it by the age of 16 and both Hoole and Gordon have been signed on by clubs and then have contracts renewed and selected by several different managers, perhaps show they may have some ability? Both have only recently recovered from injury and have not been included in settled sides. I would guess that if they were playing full back for a confident, quality side like Derby, who have various fast forward minded players that give their defenders many passing options, some open minded Rovers fans would be thinking, if only we could develop young players like that. When Hoole and Gordon got the ball and looked up, what options did they have? Forward to Martin, who was superbly marshalled all game and didn't get a sniff, a Beckenbauer wonder ball to the opposite wing, or a sideways pass to the midfielders who were quite often level(or behind them), or an easy ball back to retain possession? If he had EA in front of him to come and show for the ball, I would imagine a lot more people would rate Gordon. I like Vale but he seems to have been badly affected by his illness and concentration seems to have suffered. It maybe easy in hindsight but several times Gordon had to stick or twist, meaning go to the player that ran past Vale or stay with his own man, or when he made ground upfield and then have to backtrack to get back into position after Finley gave the ball away. Good sides like Derby take advantage of those slips. Just mark it down as a bad day at the office. No shame in losing to a quality team, but a big learning curve for Hoole and Gordon. I for one was glad to see Gordon communicating to older more experienced colleagues - asking them to show for a pass, or why they did not shout that he had time, when he just headed the ball out for a throw. To me it shows he cares and that he is developing, as he always appeared quiet before. As I said before, Gordon at age 24, with 50 to 100 plus appearances is going to be a different player to Gordon at 21. Oh and I am not his or Luca's nearest or dearest!

With the talk of the high percentages the traders get from the fan zone on other threads, presumably profits from the Thatchers bars all go to Rovers?
Better than the £0.00 the club makes from the Welly.

I was wavering between a 2-1 win or defeat today so going to plump for 2-2 (as also think it's been a while since we had one of them). Lineup-wise, not too keen on our right back options as it would mean either moving Gordon over or bringing in Hoole, who's too rusty IMO to start this one. Sounds like Derby have fullback issue too and will likely go 3 at the back, I can see Taylor deciding to match up with them, so: Ward Crama Taylor Baggott Thomas Finley Conteh Vale Evans Martin Brown I think we are better suited to 4 at the back. Having Sinclair in front of Gordon gives him an outlet, rather than having to go back, or just have Martin to aim at. Luca looked very good in the 5 minute cameo a few weeks ago when he put in two thumping tackles and looked to drive forward. Hopefully he did well in the reserve game in midweek. His pace and height at full back could be an asset.

A few articles on the website, which makes s change.
Probably not much scope to improve the programme that much this season, but a step in the right direction getting someone in place.

120 or so seats left for the Derby game now and I would point out to some detractors on here, none of them are cheap seats for this game. Just goes to prove , there was no need to give Derby more than they were. No one way saying ' we won't sell the seats at £25". The point I was making is : will there be huge gaps on the terracing ?. If fans are transferring to seats at cheaper prices . Will that increase gate receipts?. Let's wait until we get the final attendances. If we get 11000 then you could just about argue its worth it. Anything lower will be a economic failure. Let's not forget Derby could sell 4-5 k tickets an away game . If the crowds is only 9700 instead of 12500 sell out . Then we lost 3k on gate receipts. I want to break records not preserve a wierd self interest . Edit . A crowd of more than 12100 would be the highest in nearly 40 years. City at Eastville in 1985 12500. It be great to see us beat a 40 year record !. What was the official attendance v WBA in the FA cup. I say official cos if you add the media, freebies etc there were quite a few more.

With the development of the Brabazon district on the old airfield we could potentially have thousands of new supporters on our doorstep.
Need to have sufficient spaces ready in the next 4-5 years.

Should get this out to all the local schools. Another good way to encourage new supporters to the mem. Hopefully it will be advertised to a wider audience, girls clubs, local sports clubs etc... Hopefully it will be well supported and a good day out. Agreed that is a good idea, but will we do it? Problem is we tend to advertise something once or twice on Rovers social media (ie preach to the converted) and then wonder why no one else turns up.

Wasn't there talk by Tom of the Strathmore site being used as a creche type thing?
Seem to remember at a SC meeting 20 odd years ago there were agreements in place that we would not use the other locations. I think the most vociferous anti football lot when we moved to the Mem were in Alton Rd and we had to pacify them.

Didn't realize they were on such a bad run.
Two wins in the league this year. The away win at Boro is a given and the win v Saints.
Not the easiest of run ins either.
A City double relegation could be a possibility.
No doubt it is going to be interesting who comes down as apart from Rotherham there must be several sides who are anxiously looking at the trap door.

Have not read all the thread about installments and I know it is not the point, but would buying a half season ticket help for those who can't afford a whole ST in one go?
I recall there was talk of something like a eight or ten game season ticket for for local footballers, people who generally work Saturdays etc. Not sure if that ever happened?

A good move to let the Gas Girls play at the Mem. I know a few people have made that request/suggestion to the club several times before. Let's hope it is advertised well and the women's team get a good turn out and that several of the men's team come to support. Can the Clubhouse bar be open all through the game? Can you take your Thatchers onto the Thatchers? Perhaps if the club is bringing the catering back in house, this could be a regular thing next season. Sunday roasts while watching the girls. Maybe some non footballing fans from the family may be enticed to come along to watch.

Yeah for all it's stick by purists, the John Beck style, throw it to a centre back 5 yards away, who wellied it into the opposition penalty area and the Gary Kimble long, long throws were very successful if not very pretty.
Plus the ball boys adding sand on wet balls tactic for throws.
The dark arts!!
