So What you are saying is everyone should speak their minds as LONG AS THEY ARE NOT HYSTERICAL? So who defines "hysterical"? That sounds like pre censorship, like in China where everyone can discuss issues, as long as they don't criticize the Government. So BLM can say what they like as long as they don't keep on about murder by the police, as long as they don't keep on about the prejudice and bias they encounter, as long as they stop quoting history and what we in the west did. That will be alright then. So, evidence. On the weekend I discovered that 100% of the kids in inner City Baltimore, Maryland, are poor enough to qualify for state funded breakfast and lunch, everyday. 100%. Guess what, 90% of those kids are from ethnic Minority backgrounds. It must be their own fault, surely?? Really. Move along, nothing to see here, it's "hysteria". Wave the flag, it's a great Country Leicester and sweatshops anyone?? Hysterical as in they try and silence everyone else with shaming/cancelling/blocking and deleting because there are those who wish to critique their viewpoint and ideas. Some of the far left come across like they have the monopoly on moral absolutism, solipsism is their calling card: they are far left ergo they are morally “right” because the far left IS morally right because it is the side of social justice and therefore can’t be wrong, so if you aren’t with us you are against us, etc, etc. That sort of hysteria. And it is hysterical because it is highly emotive and lacking in rationality. We should all be able to discuss our viewpoints as rational adults and not object to having our ideas challenged much less believe our viewpoint is the absolute objective truth or face the wrath of the baying mob because we believe there are better ways to solve these problems than trite nonsense for show like taking a knee or changing a profile picture. Have you seen that some public figures have signed an open letter about the restriction of debate? That’s the sign of a hysterical element in our culture that wants to silence open discussion of sensitive topics. It’s a slippery slope and the beginning of the end of rationality. This is the first time I have liked a post of yours but ..... Exactly this.
You have to wonder what the far left are afraid of to cause them to have to censor opposing views. Maybe the views of the far left aren't actually that robust.

I've had it confirmed by a player, it's not a Gas Chat myth. Did they confirm what poo? I mean, it could Badger. Ok, I've held off for long enough but now it's time to own up. It's me that's making the mess. Too many hot chilli sauce and pastrami 20 layer sandwiches. It plays havoc on the insides. And that chocolate pudding I like for afters - well, what a mess.

Yep, that was the only thing I could find as well. I'm still not seeing the insult though. I'm also not sure that someone perceiving they have been wronged is the same as the accused being guilty of the charge. This is very tame in the big scheme of things and has the potential to get blown up into something much bigger as happened with you and Nobby. Have a look at the Brexit thread and see how the Remainers were regularly referring to Leavers as thick and unintelligent for their views on wanting to leave the EU. Your little spat here with Jung is small fry in comparison and, with respect, it reads like he's hurt your feelings rather than insulted you. As someone who is not able to debate like some of you on here, it's been interesting reading the exchanges on this thread so can't you two get past this perceived insult stage and get on with the debating?
Just asking
"Remainers were regularly referring to Leavers as thick and unintelligent for their views on wanting to leave the EU" What's wrong with that? Although I thought the Leavers Convention held on Bournemouth Beach last week was indicative. (😜😜😂) I'm not going to bite

Gassy. I don't wish to be dragged into the discussion but I do try to dip in and out of the General Chat threads when I can. At the moment there seems to be an accusation from you that Jung has insulted you. To prevent me reading pages of this thread could you point me to where he insulted you. Thanks. “You have their own words, I can't help it if what they say isn't acceptable to you or isn't written in a way that you find easy to understand, it was pretty clear to me.” Suggesting that either I am stupid, or inferior to his intellect is an insult. A soft one, maybe. But there was no need for it. Yep, that was the only thing I could find as well. I'm still not seeing the insult though. You can choose to be insulted by whatever you fancy, but I won't be bullied into making an apology where none is due. I found it easy to understand, I've explained my understanding of it and reworded it in a way that made if fit your definition. Maybe it's you who is correct and I'm a bit dim, hence my inability to see what's apparent to you. Yes, the thing about gumballs. If I've stated that I do not accept something as being the case that does not mean that I've made a positive assertion that it is true. I think you've just made my point for me, so thanks for that. Bullied now? So you’ve insulted me, you refuse to acknowledge that you’ve insulted someone and because I’ve asked you to acknowledge it, I’m now bullying you. That’s quite the imagination you have there. Personally I thought we were having a nice conversation, well, until you started insulting me. I’ve been polite throughout, so why on earth do you believe I’m now bullying you? I think we can conclude that you’re not as open minded as you like to say you are. On top of that, you want to discredit news sources like Sky as not reputable, as is your right, but then you use the Daily Mail to portray a story that suits your narrative. Am I incorrect? Gassy. I don't wish to be dragged into the discussion but I do try to dip in and out of the General Chat threads when I can. At the moment there seems to be an accusation from you that Jung has insulted you. To prevent me reading pages of this thread could you point me to where he insulted you. Thanks.

I get confused ( it’s happens often) ..... how many Bristol City’s are there ? There must be at least 5 with all different dates they were formed The good news for them is that they can create another and still only need the one hand. How many fingers does that one hand have?

Ok, you got me. I had to look that one up. I can barely even say it. I thought maybe you were having me on like Contrafibularities, Pericombobulation, Interfrastically from the Blackadder dictionary episode when he met Samuel Johnson.
Longest word in Hansard I think. But everyone knows that "smiles" is the longest word in the English dictionary.

Hi Oldie Based on a number of your previous posts I would have thought that the use of a not-often-used word like pusillanimous would have resonated quite well with you. And Blueridge was merely offering me words of advice rather than entering a debate. Maybe he should have done it via PM? As for your post, what points are to be addressed? I have addressed the fact that the statement made by armchair has no bearing on the initial link that was posted. If the statement now relates to the second link then that is fair enough and I don't believe many people would raise a counter view. Not from me anyway as I agree that it is dangerous if people are forced to work in conditions that may unnecessarily increase their risk of catching coronavirus. So I'm not sure there is anything to discuss. What a disappointment this forum is, pusillanimous indeed. If you don't agree with a post from somebody the very least you could do is inform them that you regard what they've written as a floccinaucinihilipilification. Ok, you got me. I had to look that one up. I can barely even say it. I thought maybe you were having me on like Contrafibularities, Pericombobulation, Interfrastically from the Blackadder dictionary episode when he met Samuel Johnson.
