As a young boy I loved Eastville. 2/-(10p) to get in the ground (which gave you access to the Muller Road end) and 1/- (5p) for transfer to the North Enclosure if my Dad felt particularly flush. Loved the hot dogs at half time. Sitting on the wall in the North Enclosure, being told by the stewards to put my legs on the inside of the wall. The smell of and the haze of cigarette smoke over the ground in cold weather. Old Guy beeping his horn in the North Enclosure, always shouting 'shoot', with a dewdrop hanging precariously from his nose. Checking my 'Golden Goal' ticket (never won). The roar of the Tote End. Halftime scores on the boards behind the goals at each end. Flower beds. The walk back home through Eastville Park. You had to be there. Great times.

I can almost see the barrier my grandfather and I used to lean aganist. We were living in Heath Road when they demolished the thirteen arches to make way for the M32. Anyone remember them? I can hear the explosion now. Anyway, when I become a multi-billionairre I going to buy Ikea or Tescos and whoever is on our site and redevelop it into a 60,000 seater stadium. The stands will be called the Tote End (obviously), the Geoff Bradford stand, the Stuart Taylor stand and one other. Any suggestions? Smash and Grab Stand!!

He will know what Bennet is on anyway. The average wage in L2 is 800-1500 a week. If they are offering £1k a week to stay within their own frame work then that’s what they are paying. But he has 18months left here so there is no motivation for him to move. i thought his contract runs out in the summer 2021

Good performance particularly given the number of games being played by these lads. Eight out injured puts a lot of pressure on squad. Last count Smith, Little, Hare, TDH, Mathews, Davies, Ollie Clarke plus one other according to eight injuries mention by BG. Who is the eighth player injured?

Are any other frequenters of the West Enclosure getting sick of the terrace being closed for cup matches? I can kind of understand the Mickey Mouse trophy, but this is the FA Cup for goodness sake and it’s the 3rd round! For me it spoils the match day experience meeting and catching up with people, enjoying the game and banter. Instead we all get spread around the ground, some don’t bother going. The stand behind is open so it’s stewarded and the outlets are open, so what’s the problem. The club needs to be more respectful towards the loyal supporters, many are season ticket holders in that section. I totally agree with you. Although there is never the vocal support to rival the Thatchers End any support is better than none.

Makes the hair on my neck stand up, the thought of a packed Mem roaring like many a year ago when holloway walks out of the tunnel! He would instantly improve the attendance by large in my opinion. My thoughts too and if we are that strapped for cash it would mean another 20 - 30k per home match

11minutes of Junior’s career goals, I sourced via YouTube. Questionable music but some really great footage. A lot of Goals for most of his clubs (mainly Rovers & Forest), some for The Gas I haven’t seen since the day itself. Enjoy. If only this could be played on the big screen Saturday, that would be some tribute.

A firefighter can do a cracking job putting out a fire at your house, you wouldn't get them to rebuild it though, you get in a builder. Well put, I like that analogy.

Yes but the worst thing you can do is treat us as if we are thick, regardless of what he has done. I spent a couple of hours watching some terrible football where we couldn’t string 2 passes together in midfield, watched our midfielders trip over each other, not make one defence splitting pass to even create a scoring opportunity, played players out of position with a formation which was totally baffling where the only idea was to knock it long. The only chances we created was from fouls or when adebayjo looked to fashion something himself and very nearly did. I dread to think what would have happened had they scored. I don’t think anyone, even the most blue tinter could agree with GC summary today. Thats definitely the same game that I saw today Totally agree, I was at that game too

The most sensible post yet. There is an NDA but he just decided to go rogue. Don't know how the Post got the story but just hope it hasn't been screwed. But Wael is such a nice man and the friend of Gasheads everywhere. Totally unlike that nasty Mr Hamer and his cronies. It’s like a bloody pantomime. Oh yes it is

As I recall, the Concorde cinema at the entrance used to show Swedish films. I was too young to be allowed in to see them, but I suppose they must have been about IKEA. I can recall when the cinema was called His Majesty's, can't remember when the name changed. There was a match, must have been early 60's when the queue to the Tote End was certainly back to the bridge if not all the way to the Black Swan, wonder what match that was?
