Conor Washington releases by sheff Utd, coughlan confirmed to stopping off at sheff Utd other day. Maybe could be him? Doubt it’s leon Clarke as he would require a fee.

Also now that afc fylde are staying down for sure, maybe worth an enquiry for Danny Rowe?

Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Ricky Holmes from Sheffield Utd. Left-Winger and played down south 4 majority of his career

I’ve watched Padraig Amond 6/7 times now and every times he’s impressed me. Will be very cheap as Newport are a selling club. Also Joe Day In goal for Newport is Quality and will certainly leave if they don’t get promoted.

If we could get him back to the form of 2 or 3 seasons ago he could be a decent signing, but he didn't exactly set the division alight this season in loans at Oxford and Gillingham (didn't make an appearance in 3 months due to injury), isn't getting any younger and I'd imagine he would be looking for a hefty wage. Edit: However, I would definitely take Heneghan and Ched Evans and possibly Coutts.

Swansea have released 20-year-old Wales U21 right back Aaron Lewis. Can also fill in at left back and could do a decent job for us.

Whilst a 12 minute video helpfully sorted into categories is impressive, there were some glaring omissions in his highlights reel that we'd need to know about before we can be sure he can do the job we're used to: - giving the ball away - getting caught out of position - getting skinned by a winger - hopelessly over hit crosses / wasted final balls - pulling up lame every third game - mistiming tackles - playing opponents onside

If that is true, should settle in quite quickly if he is a replacement for Danny Leadbitter.🙂

To be fair, not all the points were levelled at Leads, who was fast enough not to get skinned too much for example, or at least not just at Leads, we have had several sicknote fullbacks, plenty of disappointing crossers of a football and several takers for the caught out of position tag...some are still learning and some are back in Stevenage

I'm actually wondering if one of the players that Coughlan is in conversation with is Coventry's right back Jack Grimmer? Leaving them when his contract expires in the summer so would be available on a free and I think he's an improvement on anything we have. From what I know he's highly rated by Coventry fans but for whatever reason simply hasn't made the starting 11 this year. I'm sure he's on Widdrington's radar as he loves a Coventry player. Also as a replacement to Bonham, I'd love to see us sign Jay Lynch from AFC Fylde. He's their player of the year, even ahead of the divisions top scorer Danny Rowe and watching Fylde in the playoffs has really impressed me. Hargreaves was at the Fylde vs Harrogate game so he'll know about him I'm sure. www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/05/14/por-barnsley-among-clubs-eyeing-lynch-move/

23 year old striker Chris Long has been released by Burnley, he was on loan at Northampton last season and managed to score 9 goals which is respectable for playing in a team devoid of creativity. He also has played in the Championship for Brentford scoring 4 goals in 10 games, I think he could be an excellent signing on a free transfer. Being 23 he still has time to improve too. Have you also seen these goals from Long? Long has been released by Blackpool and could be worth offering in for training with us this summer. If we could unlock his potential then the partnership with JCH could work quite well and their attributes could possibly compliment each other. If people just look at his goalscoring record you would probably say no*, but you need to look at the bigger picture and how he would work with JCH as a strike partner. Edit: *Long's goals to starts record in the league isn't as bad as I thought actually...21 goals from 64 starts.

My close season "Wishlist" Pirate - Bonham, Nelson, Carey, Evans, Mayor and one unidentified RB. Unlikely, but IMO would get us top 6 - easy!! Would take all of them, but wages might be a problem and I doubt Wael would be given permission. For the right backs Tom James (Yeovil), Jordan Williams (Barnsley), Cameron Coxe (Cardiff), Vontae Daley-Campbell (Arsenal), Jude Russell (Crystal Palace) or Andrew Lyons (Bohemians) could do a job. I didn't realise we were linked with Cameron Coxe in January. www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/manchester-city-weigh-up-shock-2865814

GC said he’ll be working with Nichols to score more goals next season (!) so that implies he’ll be here. I'd love it if we could make a move and bring in the 18-year-old Basford United striker Zak Goodson before someone else at this level or above takes the chance on him. Get him in the development squad and within a year he would be knocking on the door of the first team. Got some of the attributes that Nichols has, but more importantly he looks to play on the shoulder and run in behind...and is a very good finisher. His agent is Kevin Wilson, who was briefly assistant manager at Rovers under Garry Thompson. gaschat.co.uk/post/494099gaschat.co.uk/post/494823gaschat.co.uk/post/500109

Long would be someone to look at but I'd actually prefer his ex Blackpool teammate Mark Cullen. Scored a few goals in the past and prefers a move to a L1 side in the summer instead of reuniting with Gary Bowyer at Bradford. He'd complement JCH quite well in my opinion as he is clinical in front of goal and likes to run into the channels.

It's about time we started taking regular punts on non league talent. It's worked (in general) for Peterborough for years, some you win, some you don't. But how many players have they bought for next to nothing and sold on for 6 figures 12/18 months later.
Compliment that with a few experienced heads/loan players and good to go.
I'm just not sure our fan base has the patience for youth and 'developing' talent. Expectations on the whole are normally unjustifiably high when it comes to transfers
