This lad Levi Andoh caught the eye earlier in the season whilst out on loan and would be one to keep in mind if and when Ipswich are willing to let him go.

I'm surprised we haven't had any players on loan from Southampton given that they have a lot of younger players from around these parts. Me too. It may be just me but it seems as if we don’t have any real links with other clubs. I dont know whether this is a throwback to DCs time when he was reluctant to play loaners or something else. 1982 seem to enjoy loaning players to everyone except us. Gillingham seem to have a lot of Southamptons players when Steve Evans was there. Stoke seems to be the nearest club with whom we have loaned a few players, Sweeney, Telford (?) and now Taylor. Does JB not have close friends who he can loan off or do we not have a good reputation? I don’t know. But I’m sure it could help us. UTG!

I think Bartons Everton would be ideal as they have been a good source of free talent for the lower leagues over the years. You are dead right certain clubs have connections with bigger clubs they can tap into. Another one is Colchester who seem to have Ipswich's old team. With the bigger clubs hoovering up all the talent its important that we track them if/when they are released too

With the bigger clubs hoovering up all the talent its important that we track them if/when they are released too Oxford are a similar sized club to ourselves and a prime example of a club having had some joy recruiting and generating money from U23s players. Rob Dickie defender from Reading U23s, sold on for £2.5m. Ryan Ledson midfielder from Everton u23s sold on for £750k, Joe Rothwell from Man Utd u23s sold on for £500k, plus they also had a successful loan for Marcus Browne from West Ham U23 and others similar too. They even reached the playoffs having sold the likes of Ledson, Dickie and Rothwell during the previous seasons, as it allowed them to reinvest in the squad and go again. They have also exploited the Irish and non-league markets quite well with the likes of Gavin Whyte (recommended on this thread) sold on for £2 million and Rob Atkinson who was sold on for £1.6 million. Atkinson was signed by Fulham from Basingstoke Town, then released back into non-league with Eastleigh where Oxford signed him from.

Ruben Rodrigues for Notts County looks like he can play one or two levels higher Rotherham were said to have enquired about him in the summer and they are apparently interested again, along with Blackpool and Lincoln City. Ethan Coleman at King's Lynn is decent.

The 17-year-old forward Tyler Dunn has 41 goals 23 games for G3A Football Academy in the SCL Youth Development League and is now making appearances at senior level for Staveley Miners Welfare where he has 2 goals and 3 assists in his first 4 games. Worth scouting.

The Youth Development League he was playing in didn't start until the end of September. Edit: It's 21 goals in 10 games this season and 41 in 23 over a couple of seasons. Maybe he wasn't spotted by his new senior club until now (clubs at that level often don't have scouts)? Maybe he wasn't physically ready for senior football until now? Who cares. What matters is he's making an impact at a young age and worth a closer look.

Switched to Basford Utd since I first mentioned him and continues to impress. A promising left back/wing back.

The 18-year-old forward Curtis Brown, who can play wide or through the middle, has been catching the eye with his side Winslow United. He has scored 19 goals in 15 starts for the first team and also scored a number of goals for the u18s as they made it through the qualifying stages to get to the FA Youth Cup 1st Round, where he scored a memorable goal at Portman Road vs Ipswich Town. Worth a closer look or trial.

Another couple of local lads to keep an eye on are Olaoluwakitan Jaiyeoba and the youngster Owen Humphries. 18-year-old Humphries played in the youths at Mangotsfield Utd in the South West Counties Youth League as part of the SGS College link up where he won the league with them having gone the season unbeaten and also made a couple first team apps during 20/21. Also previously scored 6 goals in 8 games for the Bristol Inner City Football Academy in the JPL. After the 20/21 season prematurely ended he scored a goal for Mangotsfield in an 'end of season' friendly vs Thornbury Town and 2 goals vs Cadbury Heath in the 21/22 pre-season. One to monitor closely. Humphries on trial with Birmingham City. The 19-year-old, who is currently with Larkhall Athletic, has started to whip up a bit of curiosity of late, and was recently spotted playing for the Owls’ U23s as they went up against Peterborough United. But Wednesday aren’t the only club who have had a look at the midfielder, with the teenager having scored for Birmingham City in a solid performance for their U23s earlier this month against Stoke City. And The Star understands that clubs such as Aston Villa, Bristol City and Swansea City have all also shown interest, with Birmingham said to be very keen on looking at a potential deal to bring him on board at St. Andrews as one for the future. www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/sheffield-wednesday-could-face-battle-from-aston-villa-and-championship-clubs-to-snap-up-midfielder-3539305

22 years old? My god he looks like he's had a hard paper round Really good defender and a ball playing centre half too. I reckon there would've been a chance we could have got him in the summer with the right salary on offer as he had a reasonable release clause in his contract. I understand he's moved for £150k, but the clause fee was lower in the summer before his contract extension. Either way, a good deal for St Johnstone IMHO.

Freak of nature this kid. 35 goals for the season now after scoring FOUR today in the FA Vase. Playing waaaaaaay below his natural level. 18-year-old. Just the 2 goals tonight, although did include this beauty 😍 Get the issues sorted and we would have a very special player in Richard Kone.

20-year-old Charley Kendall released by QPR worth a trial. Showed promising signs in his first scholar year with 12 goals and five assists from 16 appearances for the U18s and was offered a pro deal. Scored 4 goals in 4 games during this pre-season before his release. Charley Kendall impressing with 8 goals in 11 starts for Eastbourne Borough. Hat-trick Quality player already is 21-year-old Charley Kendall and big potential. 11 goals from 13 starts this season and 16 goals from 24 starts career total for Eastbourne Borough. Would be a good addition for us.
