I've read a few comments on here about a lack of a genuine target man. I reckon this 6ft 5in lad would be worth scouting.

Ebanks Blake and Blackstock the pick of the bunch. Plenty of experience and probably be a nuisance at this level if they have the right attitude.

Im guessing he has a lot of fitness issues but I there must be reasons all are still available. Jay Spearing is also still free, might be too ugly for our team though....

I wouldn't want any on that list if I'm honest. Ebanks-Blake has struggled with his weight recently and Blackstock seems to has lost a bit of desire for the game, with his attitude being questioned at Rotherham. I'd rather wait until January and make a move for someone like the German lad Patrick Schmidt, who scored another 2 excellent goals yesterday (see below), or Marcel Platzek. Both would suit the English game, fit into our systems and would dramatically increase in value in this country IMHO. The same for the lad Aquino in Spain. Jay Spearing would be good, but his wages would probably be beyond our reach.

Alessandro Mastalli would be worth scouting. He's a highly-rated, two footed, 21-year-old, 5ft 9in, former AC Milan youth captain and former Italy U19 international. Mainly plays in central midfield, but is versatile enough to play out wide and any midfield role. Made 1 Serie A appearance for AC Milan in 2015. Currently with 3rd tier side Juve Stabia, average 16/17 attendance 1,687.

Wasn't Jay spearing on trial with Blackpool recently? Perhaps he's prepared to lower his wage demands. A good player especially at this level.

Not sure, but he was reportedly on a decent wage at Bolton and earlier in the summer the local Bolton press said: 'Parkinson admits it had been difficult to convince the former England Under-21 international to lower his demands after he had played a major part in last season’s promotion from League One. “I can understand it,” he said. “Jay has been a terrific servant and he’s a good character but sometimes it’s players understanding the market they are going into. Jay has been on good money." Perhaps he now "understands the market" a bit better having recently been on trial at Blackpool?

I don't know if they would be interested in a move to England/League One, but would definitely be worth an enquiry and scouting.
Andrea Mazzarani, 27-year-old, 5ft 11in, midfielder, Catania. A former Italian U19 international (5 caps, 1 goal) and U20 international (12 caps, 1 goal). He has previously played 20 times in Serie A, scoring 1 goal and creating 3 assists. He has also previously made 165 appearances in Serie B, scoring 34 times and creating 12 assists. Currently playing for 3rd tier side Catania (average 16/17 attendance 7,550), he scored 9 goals in 29 appearances from midfield during the 16/17 season. Contract until: 30.06.2018.
Luigi Falcone, 25-year-old, 5ft 11in, winger, Catanzaro (average 16/17 attendance 1,770). A former Italian U17 international (2 caps), U18 international (3 caps) and U20 international (4 caps, 1 goal). He has made 55 appearances in the Italian 3rd tier in total, scoring 5 goals, creating 6 assists and numerous other goalscoring opportunities. He has also made 55 appearances in Serie B, scoring 9 goals and creating 3 assists. Right footed, he can play on either wing. Contract until: 30.06.2018.

So many good players in the German lower divisions, this another player I'd be scouting and keeping an eye on.
Nico Empen, 21-year-old, 6ft, striker, SC Weiche 08. A former Germany U18 player. He scored 25 goals in 44 games for the Holstein Kiel U17 team and 44 goals in 49 games (plus 9 assists) for the FC St. Pauli U19 team. Currently playing in the German 4th tier, he has 5 goals and 4 assists from 11 games in all competitions during the 17/18 season.

I don't know how realistic these lads would be, if they'd want a move or are affordable, but if they were, would definitely be worth scouting.
Dávid Bobál, 22-year-old, 6ft 2in, centre back, Budapest Honvéd. A left footed former Hungary U16 (8 caps), U19 (4 caps), U20 (3 caps), U21 (4 caps) international. He has made a total of 71 appearances, scoring 5 goals, for Budapest Honvéd. Helped them win their league in 16/17, making 24 appearances, scoring 2 goals. Honvéd's average attendance during 17/18 is 2,814. Contracted until 30.06.2018.
Máté Vida, 21-year-old, 6ft, defensive midfielder, Vasas FC. A two footed former Hungary U19 (1 cap), U20 (5 cap) player and current U21 (11 caps, 1 goal) international. He has also made 3 appearances for the full Hungary side, making his debut on May 20, 2016. In total he has made 110 appearances for Vasas FC, scoring 3 goals and creating 10 assists. Vasas' average attendance during 17/18 is 1,703. Contracted until 30.06.2019.

I reckon the Grantham striker Lee Shaw would be worth looking at in training or a development squad game. The 22-year-old got 28 goals last season and currently has 11 goals in 15 games in the Northern League Premier Division. Last season he won all three Grantham Player of the Season awards, the Supporters' award for the second consecutive season. Previously scored 54 goals in 109 starts in the United Counties League for Harrowby United. We trialled a 23-year-old from the Combined Counties League last season.

I wonder if anyone attached to Rovers is monitoring the Basingstoke Town youngster Sam Smart? He has impressed so far this season winning several MOTM awards, creating numerous assists and scoring 7 goals in 8 Southern Prem games, mainly playing from the wing. Looks quick and decent with both feet from the little I've seen of him. Obviously a big step up, but possibly worth a look with a view to bringing into the development squad. His form has also led to him being included in an FA Representative squad which will play the Western League to mark the Western League’s 125th anniversary. Interesting comment from a Weymouth fan on their forum after he scored against them on Tuesday: 'Heard more than one "worth the admission price alone" last night from our fans - not unfortunately about one of our own but 'Stokes left winger Sam Smart. All the attributes of the late lamented Shep plus electrifying pace. Could go very far by the time his voice has broken and he's grown a pube or two.'

20-year-old winger Jai Quitongo at Morton looks promising. He's got 3 goals and 3 assists from 12 appearances in all competitions so far this season. Linked with Doncaster the summer before last.

Joan Luque might be someone to look out for. Scored 14 for Heybridge Swifts this season and is set to play Exeter City in the FA cup this weekend. Exactly DC's type of player, young and determined to make it in the professional game. m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41680217

As DC is promising activity in the January transfer window, I feel like this thread might be relevant again. Anyone got any suggestions?
