At the age of 22 Jack Sparkes is only likely to get better with the right guidance and worth some consideration for us this summer. I know a few Exeter fans, they seem to think he will be a good signing for L2 sides but has been shown up in L1 with lack of pace and positional awareness. Obviously the latter can improve with a good level of coaching but will he get that here? I've like the lad since his U18 days where he used to tear us apart playing more as a wide midfielder. Quality on the ball with excellent delivery. I think there are qualities and attributes in him to be developed and will probably get good offers from League Two clubs, but longer term I do think he could be developed into a good player at this level. With Gordon developing here already, we maybe need more of a League One ready made addition this summer to challenge and for him to learn from if we do add in that area, but I do like Sparkes' potential. A lad that impressed this season in left back/wing back role is Ethan Bristow at Tranmere. He made quite a few appearances at Championship level for Reading before leaving last summer. Performed to a high level this season in both his attacking and defensive capacities. I expect Tranmere would demand a decent fee so could prove difficult and resources might better be spent elsewhere, but looks a good player.

Was linked previously (under Garner) I'd like Joe Powell at Burton. A good player in transition phases at this level Their 26-year-old 6ft 3in centre half Sam Hughes has had a good season individually.

Dennis Politic will also be out of contract from Cremonese. He didnt really seem to fit Port Vales style of play while on loan but is a creative player, bit of height and still a decent age

Out of contract this summer (according to transfermarkt) I'm sure there will be numerous clubs interested in him if Brighton decide to release and loan interest if they extend his contract.

Also their young lad Adam Mayor who scored against us looks a real talent. From Liverpool as well..

Alfie May from Cheltenham Town and Finn Azaz from Aston Villa would be fantastic signings and show great intent to seriously challenge next season.
Ps or Dom Telford from Crawley Town

Fin Azaz would be great but they may want to test him at champ level with Argyle. what are people’s thoughts on Stockton? I get the feeling someone is already close and he could fit the bill

Mo Eisa from MK Dons likely to leave following their relegation could be a decent pickup.
Also, Joe Pigott who was on loan at Pompey from Ipswich. Might be likely to leave Ipswich with them having gone up.

Is Pigott any better than Marquis who are almost the same age? 6 goals in 46 apps isn’t exactly a great return either at top L1 clubs. Says to me he’s not good enough.

Similar age, size and goals this season

Ben Garrity out of contract at Port Vale. Would be a good signing as a replacement for Finley. Box to Box midfielder, likes a tackle.

Ps or Dom Telford from Crawley Town May too old at 30, 31 next season. Azaz will go to the Championship. No to Telford. Been thinking about centre forward options for next season. There will undoubtedly be some interesting names crop up once the EFL retained lists are published and I'm sure there will be one or two interesting youngsters released from Prem clubs too, but the following ones caught my eye this season. I like your previous shout of Sam Nombe and would love to see him here. With him under contract at Exeter it would likely take a sizeable fee, so that might prove difficult unless we sell Collins for a decent fee. Sam Smith at Cambridge has looked good the past couple of seasons is out-of-contract this summer. There will surely be competition for his signature, but will likely be on our radar. Ali Al-Hamadi is someone that has caught the eye since joining Wimbledon in January. He is under contract so would command a fee, but wouldn't be surprised if there is interest from clubs this summer.

Dan Agyei out of contract at Crewe, is one I like the look of. 16 goals, 5 assists this year. Coming into his prime as a striker at 25.
Crewe desperately want to keep hold of him.
