I wonder if in the future having Glenn Whelan on the staff could have an influence and help encourage players to join us from the League of Ireland? Some good players over there (Jack Byrne not included as I understand he has an MLS move lined up). Jack Moylan, 21-year-old, CAM/LW, Shelbourne

Junior Tchamadeu has got a lot of attention for his inclusion in the EFL League Two Team of the Season and EFL League Two Young Player of the Season award and rightly so because he's a fine player, but Samson Tovide the 19-year-old 6ft 2in centre forward at Colchester Utd has really caught my eye over the past year or so too. I saw him score a decent header, win a penalty and generally cause the Arsenal defence all sorts of problems in a shock 3-0 FA Youth Cup defeat for Arsenal in the 21/22 season and he really stood out that day. This season he has caught the eye in the first team with a couple of good goals and has numerous assists, impressing with his all round CF play. If he continues developing at the rate he has over the past year or so then he is going to be a player to watch over the next few years and if anyone from our level is looking to sign him, I'd suggest sooner rather than later before his value goes up further! Seeing as we are trialling players this summer, this is who I think we should consider for a closer look. Errol Mundle-Smith, 17-year-old, Forward, Croydon. Caught the eye playing for Kinetic Academy and Corinthian-Casuals youth team. Linked up with Croydon in the Southern Counties East Football League towards the end of the season scoring 3 goals from 5 starts. Can play in any attacking position, centrally or wide.

Good pedigree having progressed through the youth ranks at West Brom and on the books at U23 level with Burnley, he also represented England at youth level. Had a short trial with Leicester City last month and is highly-rated. |

17-year-old Brody Peart is a talented youngster that has been catching the eye in youths and first team at Basingstoke Town, plus during loan spells in first team at Tadley Calleva in the Combined Counties League. Could be one to make the step up in the future. 8 goals so far this season now in first-team for the 17-year-old Peart after scoring last night (see below) and forcing a penalty after his run and shot was handled, to help Basingstoke Town into the North Hants Cup Final. Also scored a hat-trick in a league game on 18th March to add to his tally. Worth a trial ASAP as someone from a higher level will snap him up sooner rather than later. Incredible move for Brody Peart stepping up 6 levels to join Brighton! 😮 👏 |

Named MOTM in the Middlesex Jeff Ritson Senior Youth Cup final and named Cockfosters 22/23 U18 Players Player of the Year after previously being named the Cockfosters 21/22 U16 Players Player of the Year. His chairman announced that Junior was flying over to Italy for a trial with AC Milan recently, but is now back in the country as I watched him in another cup final recently and it's also since been announced he's signed first team forms for the 23/24 season. Outstanding potential. Looks such a promising youngster this lad Junior Moses. Be very surprised if he's not a pro within the next year to 18 months. 18-year-old Tyler Dacres has been catching the eye over the past year or so with 25+ goals in the youths at Basford United and has stepped up well to first-team for the club in pre-season with goals against Barnsley U23 and Chesterfield U23. A lad worth scouting and keeping an eye on 👀

Would enquire about the fitness of Baptiste and offer trial if recovered from his illness. Henry Lawrence also worth serious consideration. Maybe Josh Martin. One not included on your list is 20-year-old Dejan Tetek recently linked with Wycombe. A graduate of the Reading academy, he played 21 times for the club after making his professional debut at the age of 17 in October 2020. Represented England at U18 level, before switching to Serbia where he's played for U19's and U21's. The only concern is the amount of football he has missed through injury, but a hugely talented defensive or box-to-box midfielder on his day. |

Finlay Chadwick at Worthing is another promising youngster who has stepped up well to first-team football for the club in pre-season with goals and assists. He made his first-team debut last season and got a nice assist and then scored a wonder goal last night in a Sussex Charity Shield game. The attacking midfielder has previously scored 30 goals in 56 appearances for the youths and is part of a promising crop of youngsters in or around the first-team, including Joe Rye, Ollie Starkey, Bradley Dolaghan and Rocco Gamblin. All worth scouting and keeping an eye on 👀
