Another player to catch the eye this season is 22-year-old Jason Gilchrist. The former Man City and Burnley youngster scored 15 goals in 19 appearances for FC United of Manchester before he joined Southport in late November for a club record transfer fee. He became the first player in their history to score a debut hat-trick and added his 4th goal in 2 games with a strike against Stockport. During his time in the youth team at Man City he was top scorer in six out of ten of those seasons. At Burnley in his first season in the youth team he scored 26 goals finishing as top goalscorer. In his second year in the youth team he scored 22 goals, which included a hat-trick at Old Trafford against Manchester United in the FA Youth Cup. Worth keeping an eye on. www.thenationalleague.org.uk/match-info/match-centre/1-2850179

This lad has been impressing at Dulwich Hamlet this season scoring 9 goals in 9 games, including a hat-trick at the weekend. With his ability It surely wont be long before he gets an opportunity at a league club. Signed a contract now. Was available on a free. “We’ve had about seven or eight Championship clubs, one Premier League club show interest and a League Two club ,” said Rose. “He has scored so many goals in a short period of time. He has got a good CV and so it is not rocket science that people are going to be interested in him. “With what Reise has done in a short period of time, I don’t see him going on trial. He is due to sign a contract in the next day or two. He has played at that level already and proven himself – what he is doing now is showing everyone he is back fit. “We’d expect him to go, of course, but we want to keep him as long as we possibly can. He has agreed to sign a contract with us. The battle is to try and keep him beyond January. If he carries on the way he is then being realistic it will be difficult to do so. “Whatever happens will happen – whether that is January or the end of the season. I’m pretty sure he’ll be going on to a higher level of football.” Allassani has scored another couple of goals since the last post, including this beauty. I would like to see how he would get on in League One, with his quality in reckon he would thrive at this level.

Another couple of players I wouldn't mind us scouting. De Silvestro plays in the 3rd tier and De Vita plays in the 4th tier in Italy.

My wish-list for Christmas is getting something other than pants, socks or chocolate ! Do I have more chance than DC getting a left -midfielder ? hmm - might be a close one.
Merry Christmas Gasheads !

I can see why Football League clubs have now made bids. Quality player. Lee Shaw also scored another goal for Grantham, his 24th goal in 30 games. Both Peterborough and Scunthorpe (amongst others) are reportedly tracking him now. Dan Trickett-Smith also scored another goal for Leek Town.

I'm hoping we are one of the clubs that have made an offer. Can use both feet and dribble either side and play from the left/right wing or as an attacking midfielder/number 10. I don't think we really have anyone in the squad of his type with similar attributes apart from Bodin.

The Shamrock Rovers 22-year-old midfielder Brandon Miele is worth a closer look. The Ireland U19/U21 cap has impressed in the League of Ireland scoring 25 goals in 79 appearances and was named the 2015 PFAI Young Player of the Year. The former Newcastle United youth can play on the left, right or through the centre. Contract ends on 31.12.2017. Other League of Ireland players worth considering are 21-year-old Jamie McGrath and 25-year-old Patrick McEleney, former youth internationals. Both players contracts also expire on 31.12.2017. McEleney signing for Oldham apparently. www.irishmirror.ie/sport/soccer/soccer-news/patrick-mceleney-signs-deal-league-11730863"We've spoken to his agent. I like him, he's a really good footballer and is the best footballer in the Republic of Ireland league" said Oldham manager Wellens. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/oldham-athletic-patrick-mceleney-wellens-14053243.ampThey are also trying to sign 22-year-old 6ft 3in former England U20 centre back Lloyd Jones from Liverpool.

I wonder if anyone attached to the club is aware of or has watched Glenavon's 20-year-old Northern Ireland U21 midfielder Mark Sykes? He has excellent technical ability/quality from what I've seen and impressed this season scoring 9 goals and creating 6 assists from 16 appearances in all competitions. "There only two players I have played in the Irish League with over the last 15 years who I would compare him with are Stuart Dallas and Liam Boyce" said Glenavon's manager and former Northern Ireland international striker Gary Hamilton. "For me, at this age, he is potentially better than the two of them and he should be playing in England or Scotland." www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/42221467Another player over there worth a closer look is Crusaders' 21-year-old Northern Ireland U21 international winger Gavin Whyte. He has scored 11 goals in 23 appearances this season. Previously trialled at Everton and Celtic. Perhaps DC could have a word with Mark McChrystal about the lad... 2 goals Quality hat-trick 2 goals

Jack Marriott is a promising player despite a relatively quiet 16/17 season for Luton. He was their 15/16 player and young player of the season. The 22-year-old has a total career record of 46 goals in 95 starts. Decent pace, good movement, plays on the shoulder and can score off both feet. Luton have Danny Hylton, Isaac Vassell and now potentially James Collins, so might be willing to do business. Ollie looking to sign Marriott? www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-talk-qpr-could-offer-14080889

Another goal for Dulwich's Reise Allassani today (14 goals in 14 games), one for Basingstoke's Sam Smart and 2 goals for Crusaders' winger Gavin Whyte. All very promising youngsters.
Apparently Whyte's 2nd was particularly impressive having run half of the pitch to score.

Two good goals from Whyte, two good chances created and one excellent run/shot saved...plus a couple of glimpses of the man McChrystal. It's easy to see why Whyte is the current Northern Ireland Football Writers Young Player of the Year.

Another player to catch the eye is 19-year-old Shamrock Rovers' left sided player Trevor Clarke. The current PFAI Young Player of the Year and Ireland youth international can play as a left back or winger and has been described as a "left-footed Seamus Coleman". He has been linked with bigger clubs than us in England, so probably a long shot, but worth scouting and an enquiry nonetheless. A former Middlesbrough youth player, he has said he wants to return and play in this country again one day. According to transfermarkt his contract ends on 31.12.2017, but not sure how accurate.

I hope we would take a chance in these sort if players you seem to come across, unfortunately I don't think the club's ambition now matches our fans. I would love to be surprised though because we desperately need to 4 or 5 or maybe even 6 players to come in with winning mentality and who want to take us forward by proving themselves.
I think we need another CB perhaps someone proven to steady the back 4 - look to championship for this. For me Lockyer needs to be given a rest. Put Partington at right back, Bola left or bring in another full back.
I think other than sercombe, we will lose Bodin, we could do with replacing the rest. Need 2 wide men, stick sercombe back in the middle and also find 2 battling central midfielders.
Also another striker, one with bit more experience, same mould as the old boy at Millwall - Morrison? I think someone like that who could partner either Gaffney, Harrison or Nicholls - in that order.
Over to the board really and if funds are available in January DC would silly to not spend - unfortunately it will cost him his job, though our current situation isn't entirely down to him. Think majority if fans still on DCs side.

I also wouldn't mind the former Walsall and Middlesbrough winger Emmanuel Ledesma...

Luigi Falcone, 25-year-old, 5ft 11in, winger, Catanzaro (average 16/17 attendance 1,770). A former Italian U17 international (2 caps), U18 international (3 caps) and U20 international (4 caps, 1 goal). He has made 55 appearances in the Italian 3rd tier in total, scoring 5 goals, creating 6 assists and numerous other goalscoring opportunities. He has also made 55 appearances in Serie B, scoring 9 goals and creating 3 assists. Right footed, he can play on either wing. Contract until: 30.06.2018. The more I see of this lad the more I like. Falcone has impressed this season scoring 5 goals in 15 starts (2 sub apps), mostly from the left wing. Definitely worth the club taking a closer look. Freekick goal 2 goals
