They obviously prefer the thriving metropolis that is Peterborough, or maybe more likely we are tighter than a rats ear with the contracts?
As we have no scouting system to identify early enough to get good players on the cheap, we have to rely on young loans which is hit or miss, injury ravaged or dropping down the leagues.
When you get to this level money talks
Evolution not revolution son, evolution not revolution. UTCG!!! LOL..at least evolution happens eventually. I have my doubts with these owners, and have done since day 1.
Its just been low hanging fruit improvements and that's about it!!

I suppose at least we can be thankful for the new hand dryers, clean carpets and new pitch. The UWE farce and losing our best two players under their leadership wasn't great, but we might get a couple of loans during the last week or so.

Fixed that for you, I thought calling it a pitch was too generous!!
They could do a lot worse than following up your recommendations on here mate, I have a dossier on south American players i've seen over the last 2 years if the club wanted it!!

I wouldn't bother mate, probably just wasting your time. Even Northampton and Oldham appear to be doing decent business in this window, not to mention the likes of massive Fleetwood, Scunthorpe and Oxford. I suppose we might pull a few rabbits out of the hat in the next week or so, but I won't be holding my breath waiting.

If we're going down the loan route for a winger, Manchester City and Netherlands U19 player Javairô Dilrosun could be decent.

I was tempted to mention Judge when I posted about Lewis Macleod at Brentford, although judge is more of a central player that can also play on the wing. Considering DC wants a winger and defensive midfielder, I can't see us being interested.

Meanwhile Rovers appear to be struggling to sign players with "a few knock backs."

Nottingham Forest defender Matt Mills has been told he can leave the club by boss Aitor Karanka. At 31 and having plenty of experience of the division above, is this the sort of signing that we are looking out for?
Swindon fans rate 19 year old Slovenian midfielder Timi Elsnik highly, might Derby County loan him to L1 perhaps to play him at a higher level? Saw him play for Swindon against Dartford in the FA cup and he looked a decent player, scored their opening goal too.
Also just noticed that Luke Hyam isn't getting into the Ipswich side at the moment, could be a loan we could do if we are still looking for a CM in the last few days of the window. If DC is so desperate for permanent signings then potentially we could look at these types of loan deals that have an option of a permanent deal at the end of them?

Probably couldn’t touch Matt’s wages unfortunately

I mentioned Hyam on a different thread, would be a good signing. Not seen Elsnik, but I agree with kylegas regarding Matt Mills, wages would probably be too high for us, a good signing if we could get him though.

It's worth keeping an eye on the 23-year-old central midfielder Jack Powell at Ebbsfleet United. Once described by Ian Holloway as "oozing vision and confidence with top-drawer passing and reading of the game." Scored 12 goals last season and currently has 9 goals this season. Likes a freekick.

Jack Payne and Harry Forrester have impressed against Rovers this season. It could be worth making an offer to their parent clubs this January. Steven Caulker has left QPR, would make a good signing if he doesn't want too much per week. Obviously ex C*ty but he is a good CB and only 25. Caulker has been linked with Luton so perhaps we may have a small chance of getting him if he's willing to take a massive pay cut to get his career up and running again. 26 year old CB Andy Boyle is available on loan from Preston, would also be an option for us if we still are looking for a CB. Perhaps Bodin could put in a good word for us! A midfielder on loan such as Stevie Mallen, Sean Clare or Ryan Manning wouldn't be a bad bit of business either.

I saw that Nathan Jones denied Caulker was training with them and suggested he was training with West Ham. Whatever the case may be, I think he would be an excellent signing, although I still think it's extremely unlikely. I like Mallan and suggested him before somewhere, Clare and Manning are decent too. I think Clare is the most realistic because of his style of play and versatility.

A couple of 17-year-old players in non-league to keep an eye on.
Sonny Dullaway is a winger at Hastings United who scored a couple of goals on trial at Aston Villa last season.
Karol Wengrzik is a winger at Dereham Town. Formerly on the books of Norwich, he has also made a few appearances for the Poland U16's.

I've always liked CB Jaroslaw Fojut whenever I've watched him, although I don't know whether he would be interested in a move here.

As someone who knows nothing about Polish football, how well does the top flight over there stack up against other leagues? I remember this guy played in Scotland for a while a few years back.
