Southend getting Michael Kightly Makes sense, he was a fan favourite there in the past and is from the area. It is another very good signing for this level if it happens. Fair play to them. “I’ve held talks with Michael and he’s making noises about wanting to come back to the area which is his home,” said Brown. “We’ve moved the deal closer but he has a couple of big offers from elsewhere which we’re competing against. “We’re doing all we can and someone of his quality and experience would be a great signing.” Kightly is too good for league 1 and surprised Southend can match his wage demands. Still think he will end up somewhere else.

I think he'll stay in the Championship too. If affordable someone like Craig Noone would be a good alternative.

Anyway he really rated Craig Noone, how old is he and I'm not sure if we could afford his wages? Would be a good signing though.

Hard to tell from those video clips but Jansen looks like he could be even better than Santos or Broghammer!

Scored 7 goals and created 15 assists from 47 games when last playing at L1 level. Not sure what money he's on, but my worry too would be the affordability.

Some good suggestions. The fact is in less than three weeks time we have two pre season friendlies on the same day and nowhere near enough players to field two teams at the same time. There has to be a lot of work done in the next two weeks - an almost unbelievable amount of work to be done in fact!!! No positive news from the club on any front including the stadium tbh is disappointing. Rovers play two friendly fixtures tomorrow, taking on Melksham Town at The Oakfield Stadium and Yate Town at Lodge Road, with both games kicking off at 3.00pm. Darrell Clarke will be taking the following squad to Melksham; Adam Smith, Sam Slocombe, Luke Russe, Daniel Leadbitter, James Clarke, Liam Sercombe, Ollie Clarke, Chris Lines, Stuart Sinclair, Billy Bodin, Byron Moore, Ryan Broom, Rory Gaffney, Ellis Harrison, Lee Brown. The manager will also include four triallists in the squad that travels to Wiltshire. Chris Hargreaves will be in charge of the following squad that will be travelling to Yate; Thom Jonkerman, Alexis Junior, Harry Goode, Rollin Menayese, Mo Baghdadi, Brandon Scott, Cameron Hargreaves, Kane Fitzgerald, James Carvell, Lewis Ellington, Cameron Ebbutt, Ghassan Hassan, Tom Rose, Casey Reid, Liam Edwards, Toby Rennie, Connor Jones, Ryan Penny, Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist, Carlo Santaro, James Spruce, Sam Phillips. You were saying?

The manager will also include four triallists in the squad that travels to Wiltshire. You were saying? A reasonable statement to make at the time I feel - and since then how many new players have been signed? Strangely I wasn't born with hindsight - you're obviously one of the lucky ones - but we're still probably 5/6 players short of what DC was saying he needed at that time to complete his senior squad.

Totally agree another 5/6 players required. But by the first game we surely must have signed a solid Centre Back and two strikers. Other 2/3 can be purchased later in August.

23-year-old, 6ft 5in, centre back, Sean Raggett would be a decent signing. The England C defender helped Lincoln City win the National League title last season and was named Lincoln City Young Player of the Year and also the National Game Awards Young Player of the Year. He scored 7 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions. Has a reported release clause in his contract of £350k. Adam Virgo: "I don’t think this choice needs much explanation. I was surprised Lincoln managed to get him from Dover last summer. A great signing. I knew about his potential but the only worry I had was when he was up against pace. Against Burnley in the FA Cup he marked Andre Gray out of the game. Yes, he got the goal that day, but his all-round performance showed me what a talent he is. He’s scored some big goals too. I’ve never seen him bullied, out of position, and he seems a grounded lad. I’d be amazed if he’s at Lincoln next season. He might not be the next Jamie Vardy, like everyone asks about, but he’s certainly the next player out of the National League like that. Maybe similar to Chris Smalling." www.thenonleaguefootballpaper.com/latest-news/conference-premier-step-one/19235/adam-virgos-national-league-team-of-the-year-who-makes-his-dream-xi/

So you thought we would have 35 first team players? who said 35? That's the number of first team players to make two full strength teams as you suggested.
