Said we created loads of chances in the first half. Only went to pieces in the last 30 mins Actually admitted we threw the towel in after the second goal

I don't actually think they chose Clarke that was Ward's handywork. Personally I just don't think we are moving forward with this Manager and I just don't see the point in staying with him out of fear. The board's managerial appointment record has been well documented. There's no point making a change for the sake of it in my opinion. Whilst we're sh*t, I can't see us being involved in any kind of relegation battle. Unless we are, maybe it's time to start giving managers a chance to build their squad, implement attitudes and styles of play. Clarke had a 50% win record at Salisbury or near enough, it can't just be that every manager we appoint is dire (even though there is evidence for some of the others being dire). I think we have to start looking deeper. EDIT: For starters, where is the scouting system? That's how other teams get good players whilst using small budgets. I suppose it all comes down to level of expectation at the end of the day. For me nothing short of promotion this season will do and if that is the view of those in charge we could be seeing a change soon.

No confidence in DC altering this so Higgs you have to take professional advice on finding a real manager before the whole Club goes out of existence. I see no hope on the horizon without meaningful change.

Been quite busy the last few days as I am in between a house move to Camarthenshire. Not able to listen to todays' apparent debacle, and by the sound of it, glad I didnt'. Clearly something very wrong within the squad and it would appear we are clearly lacking the type of players our Manager said he would bring in. In my opinion that is down to one man, our Manager! Will be coming over on Tuesday for the Wrexham game, but have to say not with any great confidence.

When Clarke became manager he said that we had an unbalanced squad without enough pace and creativity and also we need to be mentally stronger. We all applauded that we now had a manager who could see what was needed and was going to make it happen. Very little has changed.

So, the internal & external reviews stated that we were relegated because of a lack of goals. We have scored 5 in 7 non-league games. Whilst the reviews have shown our deficiencies, what have the board & manager done about it? No away win yet, and 8 points from 7 games indicated that nothing has changed. Will someone let the FD know?!!! The stat that keeps slapping me in the face.....time after, time after.....ad infinitum. 5 goals in 7 games (2 from the forwards). Fix this and everything else will begin to fall in place.

My opinion on today's game, I'll comment more on individual performances in the player ratings thread:
We started alright, better than Braintree and fashioned a couple of good chances from crosses. Braintree fought back into the game, but we were still tough in midfield, especially Clarke who broke a lot of play up.
Then came the penalty. Trotman and Parkes had been in a physical match-up with the two Braintree strikers all game and the ref had let it go. A cross came in and I didn't see anything that warranted a foul. The ref pointed immediately. Parkes and Cox ended up in the goalmouth, when Cox stood over Parkes and may have flicked his boots at him, I couldn't quite tell. A goalmouth melee started and Mansell pushed a Braintree player into the back of the net. A Rover's fan lent over and swung a couple of blows though the net. The ref lost control and didn't know which player had given away the penalty and neither linesman knew either. Rover's players surrounded the ref and Parkes got booked for dissent.
Although we lost our heads a bit, we got back to playing fairly quickly and a decent move ended with Parkes having a goal disallowed for offside.
After half-time we were hopeless. We lost any bite we had in the middle, every ball was played wide or over the top. Braintree doubled up on Martin and kept him out of the game and Monkhouse was lost on the wing. Cunnington worked hard, but was given no chance to get into the game with balls at his throat with his back to goal.
The second goal came from their winger having time and space to pick out a good cross from their left. We'd shown determination to no effect before that second goal, but we lacked even that afterwards. I wouldn't accuse the players of giving up, but we never looked like forcing a chance even with some fresh legs. Stringing passes together looked like a challenge and we lacked an obvious outlet as Braintree cut off our wingers and were strong aerially.

You've put the correct team name! We're doomed. If we need superstition to beat Braintree then our season really is doomed! Ahem...
