The manager will also include four triallists in the squad that travels to Wiltshire.
Chris Hargreaves will be in charge of the following squad that will be travelling to Yate; Thom Jonkerman, Alexis Junior, Harry Goode, Rollin Menayese, Mo Baghdadi, Brandon Scott, Cameron Hargreaves, Kane Fitzgerald, James Carvell, Lewis Ellington, Cameron Ebbutt, Ghassan Hassan, Tom Rose, Casey Reid, Liam Edwards, Toby Rennie, Connor Jones, Ryan Penny, Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist, Carlo Santaro, James Spruce, Sam Phillips.
Who is Luke Russe?
No Burn or Partington, injured or not considered even good enough for Melksham 🤔

I had expected that the squad would be split, was planning to go to Yate tomorrow but a bit disappointed it is just the youngsters.

Are Melksham higher in the Pyramid than Yate?

Didn't Darrel ask in the interview to not bother too much with the team sheet and get to the friendly's to support the local clubs? I suspect the attendance at yate will be down now the squads have been announced which is a real shame.

Who is Luke Russe? No Burn or Partington, injured or not considered even good enough for Melksham 🤔 Luke Russe signed his first pro contract at the end of last season along with four others from the academy ... Ellington, Jones and Leigh-Gilchrist are in the Yate squad whilst Blake looks like another with Burn And Partington who can't be considered for match duty this weekend. Living in London I won't be travelling to either game but if you were going to Yate and are now thinking of not, you might be missing a trick, Ellington and Menayese have already been tipped to break into the first team before this season's out. This would be the first chance to officially welcome Hassan to Gasheadism and you'll be scouting those two Nike Academy keepers for the rest of us!!

Lockyer, Burns and Partington injured I would presume but the squad looks really thin still particularly on the attacking front (both strikers and wingers) and decent centre halves. Plenty of work to be done still on the transfer front with I would hope 4 or 5 players coming in before the Portugal trip which would be great for gelling the new and old players given. Little thought given for local supporters in the "weak" squad going to Yate but DC obviously has his reasons and maybe Melksham are a sterner test.

Yep, that's me ruled out of yate. Don't think yate town will be very happy.

I think Tom Lockyer has been given some extra time off as he was involved with the full Welsh squad in June and therefore continued full time training up until then?

Isn't this Melksham's first "big" name to visit their recently built stadium? Maybe DC has picked a squad to merit the occasion?
Likely to be quite a few Melksham fans who won't have seen Rovers before - might make a few converts if we put up a decent show.

Interesting to see Brandon Scott in the squad for Yate. If it is the same Brandon Scott I'm thinking of, he is a tricky winger from Cray Wanderers in the Isthmian Leagues. Scored 7 goals in 50 appearances last season. Selected for the Vardy academy too. A former Southend youngster.

Attachment Deleted The pitch all ready for the Bristol Rovers lads Just the Linemarking to be done. Pitch looks quite amazing and everything in place for a great day.. Speaking to people at the Ground this morning and they are delighted Rovers are coming and i know they have pulled out all the stops to make it a great day for Rovers and all of us Gas Heads. Would not surprise me if Daryl and there chairman arrange for other games to be played there during the season. Ample car parking, Massive Bar, Plenty of seating, it really is a ground worthy of a lot lot higher and i believe everybody is going to be shocked.

Luke Russe is a pocket dynamo midfielder - just the sort DC likes.

but looking at the squad - I agree he might well be used as a CB.
