Need some strikers and can then really move on.We have non striking Strikers. Are we really creating enough chances for our strikers? If we create chances and the strikers consistently miss, then by all means we need a striker. But if the chances aren't being created for them then I disagree. We've got strikers who can score goals, it was the same last season, the problem has been no pace and no creativity in midfield / out wide to create. Dave Martin gives us this but we need more, hopefully Balanta will give us it too. In my opinion if your going to play a formation with wingers then you need two on the pitch and one on the bench. We haven't had that yet this season so we are still unbalanced just like Clarke said we were when he took over. He is sorting it gradually though, with Martin coming in and now Balanta. I think Cunnington will be fantastic for us if we can get more pace out wide and crosses in to him. We're still pkaying very central in our attacks.

Well done boys. At this stage of the season it really is about points in the bag. Keep the home wins coming.

baffled by some of the negative comments,,,very good team performance spoilt a little by the fact that we missed 3 or 4 good chance to win comfortably and this made for a nervous finish. every player did a good job with trotman, sinclair, monkhouse and taylor the pick for me. we looked very dangerous at all set pieces which was nice

Disappointed with that performance. Didn't close doen well enough and gave Wrexham too much time and space on the ball. Wrexham were the better team with 10 men and if the game had carried on I think they would of scored. Whyoh why can't we play against ten men?! We were letting them attack us and defending really deep and when we were winning the ball back we were just booting it clear when we should of just been keeping hold of it and playing simple passes.
Very fortunate win. Didn't even feel happy at the end of it.

If the money's there I think we need to go out and get another quick winger, doesn't have to be a great player, someone like Haldane in his prime for example. One fit winger is all we've got, Martin, and if he gets injured before Balanta gets fit then that's no wingers and we're screwed again. All defenders hate playing against pace and in this league a quick winger on either side tearing down the line and feeding Cunnington is the way forward. Leave the likes of Sinclair, monkhouse, Clarke and man sell to battle it out for the central positions.

Felt we did the job tonight. Disappointing first half, but a goal and a lead and we were the better side slightly. Pretty much what we will see this season at this level. Could have added a few more and probably should have. Wrexham got better when they got fired up from the sending off and were desperate. But a step forward in my opinion, the result was all important and the lads ground it out. Martin's dead balls were a bonus, sharing the duties with Browner, i liked Matty Taylor's workrate and Parkesy has improved markedly. Good fitness levels out there now too. Not great but well done lads, now for that important away win breakthrough.
Only one concern, the apparent strange remarks from DC in his interview, i will need to listen to that tomorrow to clarify context etc.

Sorry but surely this quote is dished out when teams are fighting relegation or battling to get in the playoffs in April !? Now it is about form matey, isn't it ? Because if the players produce good performances now then they start producing wins - Home ans Away and you get on runs that keep you in the top half of the table or right at the top !?

Just reading other opinions and seems most think we didn't play well at all but three points etc... I actually thought we were the better side from start to finish and created quite a few chances, Martin brought a good save from the keeper , Parkes should have scored the header and a couple just wide. Maybe I was watching a different game but I thought we were as good as the first half v Halifax but for 90 minutes this time. I can't remember the last time I thought we'd played well for 90 minutes, Plymouth at home last season I reckon, a long time ago. We had the better chances but in my view we didn't play well.

Players in their right positions is what's needed. Tonight the only player out of position was monkhouse. He'll be much better in central midfield. The reason we went down last season wasn't because the players individually weren't good enough it was because we had central midfielders on the wing , strikers playing as defensive wide midfielders etc. Footballs a simple game and you'll be successful if you don't water about with it too much IF you've got he quality.

I wish Paul Buckle, Mark McGhee, John Ward and Nick Higgs could have read your post a few years ago. Then everything would be OK. I apologise in advance for being sarcastic, but I think the reasons we have have fallen from League 1 to the Craparama are a bit more complex than playing central midfielders on the wing. I have donned my tin hat.

Odd game, their movement and passing were much better than ours up to the final third, where their passing let them down. Our play was mostly long ball, but we could have scored three from corners and hit the post, still three points is three points. Anyone hear Clarke after the game, sounded very low,i think the stick from the crowd has got to him

I think he could do with an experienced Assistant (ex-Manager ) to help him get the players working at optimum for longer periods in a game. I'm glad our supporters are demanding more . I think we need it if we're going to get anywhere near the playoffs or automatic. Surely that's our minimum, isn't it ?

His interview on Monday sounded chirpy, so maybe he's just a little under the weather? Would explain his lack of activity on the bench too.

A lot better tonight, but our midfield is still woefully lacking any true quality and we really struggle to get forward quick enough to support our front men, that is the main reason we can't keep possession of the ball for very long.We huffed and puffed and were hanging on at the end but just about got over the finish line. At last though we got a bit of quality from our set piece delivery in Martin, who i thought had a good game and was unlucky not to score. Taylor too had a good game, but was harshly picked on by the ref all night.
I was impressed with Wrexham they played a good passing style of football and even near the end with ten men they resisted the temptation to knock it long, and instead tried to pass their way through our defence, the only thing they lacked was a cutting edge, that said though on the base of play we just about deserved to win.

Would be nice to see us play like Wrexham - think it produces the rewards long term.

There was also an interesting quote from the FGR manager after their defeat to Wrexham Saturday who tipped them to win the title !!
