Quick review of how we shaped up:
Back four looked solid for the most part, causing Wrexham's attacks to constantly break down in the final quarter, despite some promising build-up play from them. In my mind our midfield got bypassed too easily, with one pass taking them out of the game on several occasions. Didn't offer an outlet for the defence enough, leading to long balls. The right wing was non-existent but Martin looked good on the left and although he fumbles the ball occasionally he has quality to beat people. Cunnington did a great job aerially, just a shame we didn't get it to his feet more. Taylor worked hard but I feel he needs an extra yard of pace or an extra bit of strength to really make the most of his opportunities.

The commentators said he was great in the air when talking at half time. Nice little flick ons etc, but they seemed to think the players around him weren't on the same wavelength so the flick ons were wasted.

Well done boys. At this stage of the season it really is about points in the bag. Keep the home wins coming. Now it is about form matey, isn't it ? Uh..... no?! It's always about points. You won't win anything based on form. Points win prizes.

First time watching from one of the exec boxes last night... may have to go in there more often. On the game I thought we slightly shaded it on overall play but we didn't look entirely convincing. I thought Cunnington looked strong again in the air and although he is a good out ball, we play it up to him far to often. Bizarrely we knocked it long to Matty Taylor quite a few times as well. The Halifax game especially showed that we look a lot better team when we get the ball on the floor and play quick short passes with lots of movement (simple football). If Monkhouse can keep chipping in with a few goals this season then that is going to be a useful addition to the team. Parkes and Trotman are developing a good partnership and look like they are hardly going to lose anything in the air which is reassuring, as I'm sure we will face aerially bombardment at times this season. I would like to see Parkesy drive on a bit more and look for a short pass instead of hitting it long, I can only assume this is orders from management. In addition to that point I would like to see the central midfielders move towards the back 4 when they've got the ball to give ashort option, as we looked very predictable at times with the long ball. Short simple passing is very basic football and is effective in keeping the ball and making the opposition work for it. Even when Wrexham had 10 men, Browner was in acres of space but no we still went for the long option. Overall we will take the 3 points and hopefully build on that performance. It was clear the fans and ultimately the players were edgey last night, and with a few more wins and decent performances then that should subside. Onwards and upwards, and lets play the ball on the floor more often FFS. UTG P.s how did Wrexham not score? It looked a certain goal.

Odd game, their movement and passing were much better than ours up to the final third, where their passing let them down. Our play was mostly long ball, but we could have scored three from corners and hit the post, still three points is three points. Anyone hear Clarke after the game, sounded very low,i think the stick from the crowd has got to him No no,that can't be right. Abuse/praise from the crowd doesn't effect players. Poor excuse that.....

Clark, deep down IMO, knows he is in deeper than he knows how to cope with. He either now ups his game and does a job or he withers and fades. We can all see he can talk the talk and he is very quick to chastise and cast blame upon others. He is now only just realising the gargantuan task that he has blagged and is probably very worried. Again, this is just my opinion based upon the events that led up to his appointment and on his soundbite interviews. You cannot expect to go name calling and pointing fingers without getting the same back. We all make our own environment and his was to blame others. I hope he rises to the job in hand but I won't pity him, not after the way he was so quick to stick the knife into Ward and certain players. This is not Salisbury. ( said in best Gerard Butler tone) THIS IS BRISTOL ROVERS. Time to man the duck up and buckle down. No crying now Darryl.

Is this for me? In case it is, I base my opinion on what I have experienced. Also I refer to performance and results not behaviour of personnel pre/post game. I wouldn't be suprised if DC is semi conscious of people's perception of him, it's natural.
