RIP Thank you for all you did.
I just hope that in the turmoil of your last days you managed to write your promised tell all book.
It would certainly be a fitting epitaph and be bought to go alongside my Rovers library. I can see it now in the foyer of the new shop in the new stadium bronze busts of Bradford, the Dunfords and Al Qadi. UTG

Even just earlier this year, when he was seriously ill, Geoff attended the first few meetings of the Pete Aitken Testimonial committee; keen to do anything he could to make it a success. Rovers have much to thank Geoff for. R.I.P.Geoff Dunford.

They talk about legends on the field but he was a legend for this club. Without him, his Dad and others like Ron Craig, Roy Redman etc who knows if we would have a club to support.
I once remember working on the heavily waterlogged Mem pitch with other volunteers to try and get the game to go ahead. Geoff and Ron Craig turned up in their fine attire, but both grabbed forks and got on the pitch to help. No airs and graces, just supporters getting drenched together.
The game went ahead, we won and I sold the winning 50/50.
Best wishes to his family. RIP Geoff.

A true Rovers hero.
I hope his book is close to being published as it will be a very interesting read!.
He had his critics, but stayed loyal to the club. The Dunford Stand has a good ring to it.
My condolences to his family.
RIP Geoff. I hope the Gas win for you today.

Its sad to hear of the loss of Geoff . Along with his father he will best be remembered for the Twerton park years. When adversity made the club . A time when directors ,managers ,staff ,players and fans all came together for the common good. Good prudent guidance from the Dunford family and other board members ensured the club stayed afloat and gave it the chance to aim to be a great club again. The time when away from home the host club (Stoke city I think ? ) offered reduced ticket prices to home fans but not the away fans. So the board refused the directors box and paid to sit with the Rovers fans in an act of solidarity. In it together.

Although I'd heard he wasn't well again the news of his death is still a shocker, another one taken to young at just 66 years old. Geoff oversaw both some hard times and great times during his time as Director at Rovers.

I have always been one of his critics, but without him there wouldn't be a BRFC to support and for that I will always be immensely thankful and got my full respect.
Used to enjoy good chats with him occasionally at games and I found him an engaging man to talk to.
RIP Geoff, may you be safe in Gods memory.
