Good idea ... we went through our best period in recent history after we sacked Trollope. And there it is in a nutshell living in the past Also known as learning from experience. Do you keep putting your hand on the cooker top when it's on because you don't want to be accused of living in the past?

Doesn't have to make last ditch tackles it's covering back helping players who are struggling to do their job being an extra body in danger areas. We're you there today if so tell me how he didn't get a penalty award whend the tackle on him would have not been out of place in a wrestling match How the official s failed to see it beggars belief.as for gaffney unlucky not to score he shot wide of the post that is not unlucky. And don't mentioned nicholls Did you leave at half time by any chance? No I stayed till the bitter end not watching it on some obscure channel.where did you watch it

Daryl Duffy and Jo Kufour were decent players for us and could find the back of the net. They both are superior players compared to Nichols and Gaffney. Well, you MIGHT be right, time will tell, but they weren't very good compared to Bradford, Biggs, Hamilton, Stubbs,Warboys, Bannister, Penrice,Stewart,Walker,Lambert, Tayl - Tayl - Taly ( nope scrub that one) & many more. What I'm trying to say is that It's pointless (bit like us in the last 3 games) harping back as they are all in the past, we are here & now, we have what we have at the moment. I still think Nicholls will score 8 - 10 goals for us this season.

After the shocking first 15 mins we really deserved a goal. I watched it on iFollow which is hardly an obscure channel!

Hopefully Weal/SH are not daft enough to employ Dave Penny MK2 if DC should ever leave, so they won't get burnt!

Well the Evil Post seemed to be at a different game today judging by their report and reading what those who were there have said. Not least their comment that Leadbetter "was troubled all game by the Rochdale Goalkeeper Matthew Done". Hmm.....superb reporting.

Went today and that was a perfect illustration of following a lower league club away.
The train was rammed on the way to Manchester. We caught a FREE bus from Picadilly to Victoria station then a 15 minute journey to Rochdale.
We were standing outside Rochdale station wondering how to get to the ground when a Rochdale fan pulled up and said "Jump in lads, I'll take you to the ground"
Once at Spotland we went into the supporters club, were made very welcome and had a few pints and chat with their very friendly supporters.
Went into the away stand and found it to be a nice, functional stadium, big enough for heir level of support, which today was, frankly pathetic. I suppose we had 2 - 300 there.
The game was played in a howling gale which swirled mercilessly around the fairly open stadium. We conceded the inevitable early goal, settled and probably shaded the rest of the game but came away empty handed.
When the whistle went we left the ground and the rainfall was Biblical, it was absolutely p1ssing it down.
Got back to Picadilly and the train was rammed to cattle truck specification. We were squashed in a vestibule with a load of Man City supporters. They were amazed that we had travelled all that way to watch our team. Made all sorts of gratuitous comments about following your home town club and not Glory Hunting, before admitting they were from Macclesfield!
Got home at 10:30, still sodden through. Would I do it again?
You bet!

That's just rose tinted sentimentality. Darryl Duffy was never a decent player for us. He was awful. He was nowhere near even what Nichols is for us now and that's without Nichols scoring.

Bit harsh. I seem to remember Duffy getting 13-15 in his first season in L1. 10 or so in his second season and was a good foil alongside Lambert. Joker4 had pace, strength and a good shot on him.

At least with nichols i can see hes desperate to do well to impress and frustrated that things havnt gone his way, when slocombe got a red card recently he ran over to dc to get his instructions and showed his anguish when dc told him he was being subbed. Point of this? he wants to play and do well,he really does.

According to the online stats, Duffy got 16 league goals in total for Rovers over 3 years. 13 in 1st season which is decent, then seemed to struggle.

We’ve lost a few games of footy, no drama. In the last 134 years we’ve probably lost as many as we have won, that’s football. It’s like a fkin roller coaster, now hop on and buckle belt up.
