2 ways that were never made public because we sold to the ALQs who were going to build the stadium. But both were viable options.
But at least we had the plans and permissions to crack on with as soon as the finance was placed. What do we have currently? Apart from a delapidated ground with a charge on it? if it was why would the old Board pass on the adulation of the fans? and miss becoming legends in Rovers history by handing everything over to new owners? Also, why not pass on this secret money to the new owners? Incidentally, there has never been a time since 1986 when there was no charge on the Mem. What are you trying to do rewrite history in order to pretend we never had an agreement in the past with Sainsbury's to buy the Mem? Whether they ever intended fulfilling their agreement in the absence of the supermarket wars we'll never know, but that could well be it was the nearest some of us will ever get to watching Rovers in a decent home ground.

We were closer to a stadium under Higgs than we currently are under the ALQ's. There is no stadium at all currently. You seem to be muddying the point like you always have Knowall, one you absolutely refuse to accept or dismiss as if it has no relevance, and its this, any development signed off within the next 2 years will take another 2-3 years to build and complete providing all PP goes through with no hiccups, protests or JRs. We won't be able to build a big new stand in the car park because of the housing estate behind so that is one obstacle to overcome. The local residents will oppose anything built around the mem, another obstacle. And that is just 2 off my head as I type now. So faffing about taking time will push us further back into the dark ages and will stunt growth. Pure and simple. Thats why I said from the outset, developing the mem is ok, I am happy with that, but you need to crack on, get it architected, studied and get it in pre planning and then the planning stages with the council and then adjust the final model as we go. All of the above doesnt take that long. But for some, to sit back and wait for time to pass seems to be acceptable, but time is not of the essence really, we are being left behind even by clubs like Burton, Fleetwook and Shrewsbury. If finance isn't an issue, and neither is desire from Wael or his brother, then what is the problem? Learning from the sainsbury's debacle should be the big red flag to the new board as should a bit of better communication. More than one person has defended the apparent lack of activity by saying the old Board were here for years, and did nothing. Thats a pretty strange defence to me. Does it mean that because the old Board were sh*te, it's fine for the new one to be as well? Or that the Al-Qadis can have ten years of doing nothing before anyone is allowed to grumble?

Are they defending the board for a lack of activity, or just refuting the idea that we'd be better off with the old board, or a different board, or that the old board would have got stuff done by now?

The Sainsbury's saga killed off the old BoD, you fear the UWE have done the same to the new BoD, perhaps a different board with a different approach with the UWE may have got us somewhere but god knows if there were any other investors ever willing to get involved with Rovers, I posted on another thread that small time club Shrewsbury with their new stadium and training ground are debt free meanwhile we are struggling along with £12m of debt.

Louis Carey, what a mug thinking City can beat Man City. If they try and take the game to Man City then they'll get bloody hammered! Daft sod.

In fairness the weakest part of Man City's team is their defence. Might as well try and get at them, without being too gung-ho. Easier said than done though.

12 minutes played and they still 0-0 getting worried it might only be a 5-0 defeat at this rate

The trouble is their atrack is much stronger than their defence is weak.
