Rather jealous of all the reds leaving work to go to tonight’s game all happy and positive rubbing in our issues. None expect anything and are just having a good night out! Please at our end can we just sign someone or have some form of f”cking good news! I’m so tired of hoping and waiting for our club to do anything!!! We are so f”cking tinpot! I know it’s always been this way but Christ this is the hardest I’ve found it! Ignore the lady gardens, they will all be back tomorrow with their tails between their legs after a 6 - 0 drubbing. If they can enjoy that as a good night out then fair play to them!

i Do you realise if they do get to the final they qualify for Europa league? Still hope they get past Man City? No they wouldn't. Runners up of the FA Cup get the ticket to Europe from the competition if winners have qualified for Europe through another means. If winners of League Cup qualify for Champions League or Europa League via league (or FA Cup), European place goes to the 6th/7th place Premier League team. Ah ok. Think I get fed that bit of info from one of the deluded. I’ll make sure to let them know 🤣

I think we know how much time has passed since the ALQ's have taken over, how much time we have owned the land at the colony and how much time has passed since the UWE collapse for them to have gotten their arses into gear and sorted at least one of the projects out. You seem to be expecting the current Owners and Board to achieve something in such a short time that the previous Board couldn't for all their bluster and money spent (wasted?) Remind us - how long were the previous Board in situ and what did they actually achieve? I'll give you a clue - Nick Higgs was Chairman from 2008 to 2016 - EIGHT YEARS and a member of the Board for twelve years.

What I'd actually like is for them to lose narrowly, say 2-0, then have a full house at Trashton for the 2nd leg and then Man City royally f**k them over in front of their own fans.

Remind us - how long were the previous Board in situ and what did they actually achieve? I'll give you a clue - Nick Higgs was Chairman from 2008 to 2016 - EIGHT YEARS and a member of the Board for twelve years. We were closer to a stadium under Higgs than we currently are under the ALQ's. There is no stadium at all currently. You seem to be muddying the point like you always have Knowall, one you absolutely refuse to accept or dismiss as if it has no relevance, and its this, any development signed off within the next 2 years will take another 2-3 years to build and complete providing all PP goes through with no hiccups, protests or JRs. We won't be able to build a big new stand in the car park because of the housing estate behind so that is one obstacle to overcome. The local residents will oppose anything built around the mem, another obstacle. And that is just 2 off my head as I type now. So faffing about taking time will push us further back into the dark ages and will stunt growth. Pure and simple. Thats why I said from the outset, developing the mem is ok, I am happy with that, but you need to crack on, get it architected, studied and get it in pre planning and then the planning stages with the council and then adjust the final model as we go. All of the above doesnt take that long. But for some, to sit back and wait for time to pass seems to be acceptable, but time is not of the essence really, we are being left behind even by clubs like Burton, Fleetwook and Shrewsbury. If finance isn't an issue, and neither is desire from Wael or his brother, then what is the problem? Learning from the sainsbury's debacle should be the big red flag to the new board as should a bit of better communication.

2 ways that were never made public because we sold to the ALQs who were going to build the stadium. But both were viable options. But at least we had the plans and permissions to crack on with as soon as the finance was placed. What do we have currently? Apart from a delapidated ground with a charge on it?

None of these have happened, because there has never been any money and if you don't have the means, it's doesn't matter how close you are
I have plans for my Garden, but I don't have the money to do it. I am still no closer to doing it then I was 3 years ago

Yet another kick in the Bollocks for our club tonight. Well it's not much of one, really, though, is it? If that's the best our local rivals can do in, let's face it, nearly twenty years of our under-achievement, then we've really got off very lightly. They could have won a couple of European Cups (Notts County) or been in the Prem for god knows how long (Port Vale), etc. Really, we've been a bunch of lady gardens for nearly twenty years, they've had millions and millions poured into them and the shift in the balance of power in the city over that time when all is said and done, relatively very very little. (Sorry, didn't notice the post was so old, I guess it still applies, though.)

Good point well made. It would be wonderful if the club released a time line on when all the would start and be completed

Did the North Stand fail because of cost or because a whole redevelopment was preferred? I missed a lot of the background stuff around this time so happy to be informed. I have wondered where we would be now if we did proceed rather than waste time and effort on the Opel project, UWE dream and all that followed. It may have locked us into the Mem early on allowing resources to be used to follow up a largely rebuilt ground. Could we now be sat in a decent ground?

Apart from a delapidated ground with a charge on it? if it was why would the old Board pass on the adulation of the fans? and miss becoming legends in Rovers history by handing everything over to new owners? Also, why not pass on this secret money to the new owners? Incidentally, there has never been a time since 1986 when there was no charge on the Mem.
