Imagine that, Tom Nichols and Luke James leading the Rovers front line? My god they would scare the sh** out of all league 1 defences! I suppose we could drop coco the clown in the hole behind them too? The only chance of us scoring with those two up front is to catch the opposition back 4 off guard while they are rolling around on the ground laughing their bollox off

Yeah, bringing James back to the mem would be a huge waste of time. We could use him as a winger. He has good control, and is pretty quick on his toes. Then there's no pressure on him to score

I liked LJ, and wouldn't be against him returning if the wages were right. I know most on here will think I'm mad, but he's scored goals before, and I think he will again. Plus his workrate was un-questionable. Also, we've not done badly taking an underperforming striker from FGR in the past - just saying. I agree, he's just 23, Lambert had done little at 23

Some kids start off well and then go downhill for whatever reason.
We waited all season for James to get going and he never did, now we are watching the same thing happen for a more expensive lad.
You can forgive fans being doubtful Nichols will succeed, just a shame we cant get a striker who needs less than half a season to start scoring.

Well I bet if DC has any regard for him whatsoever he could be rejoining us as he will be desperate for a job, knows the ropes here & lives locally. I would not be at all surprised to see him come back.....OMG.

If Luke James comes back we may as well resign from L1 as we would deserve L2 footy. whatever he had he doesnt anymore.

A drop to a lower division at a club with no pressure was exactly what he needed. Football can be a confidence game at times and when pressure is put on yourself to score and perform as welll as the club needing you to it can really effect confidence.

The thought of Luke James returning really scares me, it's like being in a car doing 95 in the fast lane on the M5, driven by a woman who's touching up her nail varnish, then starts plucking her eyebrows.

He dropped down to Forest Green and managed 1 goal in 22 games.

Yep...and is now on loan at Barrow where he's scored 4 goals....that I assume was the drop to a lower club that was referred to?

Said the same myself this time last year. I liked him but he needed to drop down a league or 2 and regain his confidence. Will follow his career with interest.
