Luke James always gave 200% for Rovers and for that he will always be welcome , as for what to do with him if he came back? well he aint never gonna be a goal machine but he worked harder than anyone and i well remember him playing in Rory and co for goals ,and he had a good footballers brain so (and your gonna like this, not a lot, but your gonna like it!)play him in The Beard role, he works just as hard and has the advantage of being able to pick a productive pass instead of always playing the ball back or sideways, and his goal tally from that position would be on a par with The Beards or better IMO!.for all you Beard fans out there , and i am one,i'm not knocking him but at league one level there has to be more end product to your game, what dya reckon Gas EDS?

I don’t know how people can mock Nicholls, mostly people who know nothing about football I guess. He has been played sparadically and when he played is normally out wide.. players like him play best when a team actually has wingers, not just going through the middle all game every game. Get at least one player in the squad with a bit of pace and he will flourish. There is a reason Peterborough didn’t want to sell him. You can see he has bags of ability. Peterboro did want to sell him. Their fans used to boo him. The club just wanted the money back that they had paid Exeter. To me he is worse than James, at least James could head the ball

Is Tom Nichols worth £300k+ more than Luke James. £375 according to the Peterborough owner. Luke James has good ball control, and heads it. Nicholls has good ball control and avoids heading it

Nicholls has good ball control and avoids heading it Such a shame, the money could have been so much better spent, if the money had provided us with the 15 goal a season type striker that we expected for that sort of money then perhaps we might have got closer to that top 6 spot. I think we will see Nichols loaned out next season or him moving back to Exeter as it's clearly not worked out and I don't think wingers would have made much difference to his dismal goal tally. Must say I thought it was a good signing at the time but I did think he was physically stronger than he seems when playing for us.

If we only paid £375 for him what do you expect, we should have pushed the boat out a bit and paid at least 1k for someone.

Luke James has found his level at Barrow.Nichols I suspect will fall down the leagues too.Gaffers struggling.Big re-inforcements needed next season up front.Essential we hang on to Ellis.Hope the lad from Aldershot comes good but looks a bit raw at the moment.

I for one am chuffed for him that he's now got 5 in 5 and scoring on sky tonight. His work rate was top notch, just needed confidence and I wish him well and will smile every time I see his name on the scoresheet.

So 15 goals a season plus he would score more than that with supply from mobennettsalah 😂 and Mensahdebruyne

James scored a decent goal actually by making a good run and being brave at the end of it. The kind of stuff he demonstrated at Hartlepool but we never got to see during his time with us. Mind you it was no way near as good a goal as the one Hartlepool have just scored. Straight into the top corner from 40 yards by Carl Magnay, one of the better goals I have seen this season.

Do you think he might return that level of goal scoring form with us any time soon?

It didn’t happen for him at the Mem but it’s easy to overexaggerate these things. He only actually started 10 league games for us so hopefully prospective employers won’t look too unkindly on his time here. Keep banging them in and he might well earn himself another crack at league football.

Its easy to have a decent game against your old club and then do nothing for years...just ask Michael Meaker! (probably the best debut ive ever seen from a player!!)
