True he's not played for Stoke City in the premier league but we are his first loan-club since he jointed them so he's not previously had an opportunity to play in the EFL since 2015. I suspect he would have got more game time at most other EFL clubs than DC seems to be willing to give him.

Without rovers he would have zero 1st team game time on his cv for a very long time.

But that's not DC's style and if he is a player who lacks confidence then is calling him out in public really going to help his cause? We all love the team spirit DC's creates but you are now asking him to do something which is totally the opposite. As get rid he's got at least one, possibly two years, left on his contract and cost us Ā£350K, I'd sooner DC keep working with him in the hope he comes good rather than write off Ā£500K+ just yet. Although I'd now play Telford ahead of him a otherwise it seems pointless players putting in an extra shift in DS matches etc. Not being funny, he's a grown man, not a very strong one but still a man, if he can't take DC saying something along the lines of 'yeah Tom isn't in the match day squad, I need more from him but while he's getting it together I need to be able to see if other members of my squad can step up to the plate and provide competition for places' then he's not cut out to make it IMHO, football is a cutthroat business at the end of the day and managers, fans and chief executives want their players to be able to deliver, if they aren't delevering then I don't feel it's wrong to acknowledge that. Could send him to Chris Sanigar to toughen him up a little and build-up his upper body strength. Anything is worth trying at this stage IMO.

I think you're being a bit silly here as I'm sure Stoke could have been arranged a loan at another EFL Club even if it was a tier below. He was playing regularly for the under 23 at Stoke and scoring goals and DC described him as an exciting prospect when he joined. To suggest we were is only hope of any game time is unfair on the player and the clubs involved in the loan deal.

It will be interesting to see what happens to him for the remainder of the loan and beyond.

Give TN 6 weeks with Man verses Food that should beef him up.

Good write up to be fair. Iād start him 3-4 games in a row and see how he gets on.

It does baffle me how TN can continually get appearances and starts over Telford despite doing little or nothing to impress each time.
And yet when Telford has played for any great deal of time longer than 10 minutes he has scored or has come close.
What some players need are starts and Telford deserves a few.

Thought he looked very promising when he came on. Even more mistifying why he hardly gets a look in!

Telford will be ok, he will be on a decent list of players deemed not good enough for us and gone on to play in the Prem/Champ

I agree, just like mc burnie has gone on to the championship now
Telford over gaffney any day of the week, gaffney is our poorest striker imo

He linked up play better than Harrison. Telford may be a better option than Nichols, but Gaffney-Harrison is still our best strike partnership IMO.

No im just saying he shouldn't worry about not breaking into our first team when others have been through the same and gone on to better things. imo he is better off in Stokes development squad with better players rather than ours. Waste of a year for the lad
