Another dire game. We lack width in our play and are too-slow with our build-ups. Having said that we deserved a draw and our equaliser was by far our best move - a low cross and not the pointless high ones against their man-mountain defenders.

Smith 6 one horrendous fresh air punch but otherwise adequate Partington 7 good steady game, some excellent crosses Lockyer 8 M.o.M hardly put a foot wrong Craig 6.5 ok game Brown 6.5 a bit slack for the goal but got forward well Sercombe 6.5 totally ineffective out wide, much better in a more central role Lines 7 a decent game but him and Sincs were outnumbered until the changes came Sinclair 6.5 bags of effort Bennett 6 flitted in and out, a bit lighweight Gaffney 6 worked hard for the few scraps that came his way Harrison 7 a good display at both ends of the field Subs: Moore 6 play him on the right or dont play him at all Mensah 6 a raw talent but the potential is there Telford 6.5 a decent cameo and shows much more promise than Nichols ever does. Crowd 6 quiet,hardly surprising with such a dour display Ref 7.5 sensible , got most thing right Scunthorpe 5 no better than us, Clarke blames the poor pitch so we'll have to assume they aren't always that bad. |

Smith: 6.5 Competent in what he had to do.
Partington: 6 Shaky start but did ok.
Lockyer: 8 Back to his best.
Craig: 8 Assured display, looks a very good signing.
Brown: 7 Consistent as ever. Still our best left back.
Sercombe: 5 Missing for first hour. Not best out wide but he can do better than that.
Sinclair: 6.5 Always doing the dirty work, and tidying things up. Not his best game creatively.
Lines: 7 Is adding a bit of steel to his talents.
Bennett 7 A threat while on the pitch. Perhaps unlucky to be subbed ahead of Sercs.
Gaffney: 6.5 Worked hard as always but never got close to dominating the centre half.
Harrison: 7.5 As per Gaffers but got the crucial goal.
Moore: 6.5 Lively cameo but where has he been for 2 years?
Mensah: 6 Encouraging flashes of ability. One for the future.
Telford: 6 Chased and harried but got no change from centre half.
Crowd: 5 Quiet, cold and no hot drinks.
Ref: 8 Very good. Tried to let the game flow where he could.
Iron: 7 Like us on the day, bang average on an awful pitch in gusty conditions.
DC: 8 Got it spot on again with his substitutions.
Poor pitch (which did play diferently to the Rochdale game) and gusty winds made good football very difficult. Two average sides in a game dominated by the two centre half pairings.

Ref was motm, best one we've had in a very long time, controlled the game well despite the linesman on the uplands terrace taking a day's holiday, their keepers handball was definitely a yellow, 2 yards out, harisson was going nowhere, not a goalscoring op, would have just gone for a goal kick, don't think I disagreed with a single one of his decisions Nobody in our team played particularly well, lockyer was the best player, we played hoof ball against the physically biggest side in the league, we didn't impress, they didn't impress, was a terrible game lol |

Smith 6. Couple of decent saves. Might have done better for their goal.
Partington 7.5 excellent second half. Created quite a bit and defended well. Good pass into feet in the build up to our goal.
Lockyer 7.5. He’s been solid since coming back into the team.
Craig 6. Helps to organise and the defence has tightened up since he came in.
Brown 6. Not much happening down the left and left his man for the goal.
Sercombe 5.5. Right wing not his position. He doesn’t like helping to defend.
Lines 6. Struggled against a fast center mid.
Sinclair 6. Same as Lines
Bennett 6.5. Was a decent outlet but no end product today.
Gaffney 5.5 Bullied off the ball all game.
Harrison 6.5. Same as Gaffney but extra point for the goal. He has a knack of being in the right place.
Subs: Moore 6. Try hard to contribute
Mensah 5.5. Couple of good touches.
Telford 6. Wants so hard to be involved. Perhaps DC should give him a bit longer.
Crowd 6. Not much to cheer about until the end.
Ref 7. Not bad for a change
Scunthorpe 6. Their midfield dominated the game. Good job our defence are plugging away as they don’t get much support from our midfield. However I defy any decent team to try and play the ball on the floor with our cattle field.
