I’ll never know how we came away from that match with nothing.
First half was some of the best football I’ve seen us play in a long time. Second half we started sloppily but their 2-2 goal was very fortunate, and their winner was never a penalty.
Not quite good enough for the play offs this season, but not sure we’ll be far off next year if we can hold onto our key players and add 3/4 quality additions.
We have a very solid L1 squad, but we’re lacking that extra bit of quality in both boxes at crucial moments.

Who's blaming the referee "all the time"? He made two very poor decisions today. Plenty of people on here. Only when we lose though 🤔 Sure just like when we do well against an in form team plenty of people say the opposition were "down to the bare bones" because they had two first team players out (ignoring the fact we also had one forced change).

Just got back from Plymouth.
We were well worth our 2-1 half time lead, in fact it should have been a 2 goal lead because their goal bounced off OC's back..
The reason we're not higher up the table is because we are naive, we didn't close the game down and let them come at us. Our keeper saved the first pen, and instead of belting the ball as far as possible out the ground and slowing it down,we gave the ball away cheaply and they went on to equalise. I can't comment on the pens because they were down the other end, but it annoys me when we don't play professionally.
Not good enough to go up, need another 3 or 4 players, then let's see.
Really can't see what Craig gives us over and above what we had before, but it seems he is now a given every game.

Muff scored with an own goal, after been given what looked a dodgy pen, then scored the winner with an even dodgier pen, how can we be nowhere near good enough when Muff now look like making the Playoffs but we gave them the runaround for about 60% of the match. Just my opinion topper , took the lead twice , two pens ( no matter how soft ) against a weakened Plymouth team. We've also thrown away points against Northampton and Wimbledon recently , games in which we should be wining if we were serious playoff contenders. I'm personally very happy with the season so far and I think with a few tweaks here and there , we will be challenging for top six next season. Yeah can’t argue with that the refs had us over but that’s standard as an away side you need to play the ref too and we’re not good enough technique wise or good enough ref wise to sneak in to that top six.what we have got is a great bunch of lads with a great mentality who need a bit more quality and s bit more belief and we can do it next season. It’s still possible this season but we’ve lost more games than we’ve won with only 9 left UTG

I dont agree with you,but dont take it to heart and sulk off and delete your profile yet again will you? We all have different opinions. I thought the general consensus before today's game was that Locks was back to his best, although even today both pens looked soft, and it was JC and OC at fault/unlucky for the first two goals anyway. Thats why i didnt agree with mr bone saying lockyer is not one of our best players in that position? Did you reply to me by mistake?

With the 1st penalty today i dont understand why james clarke was so flat footed and clumsy? If he was on his toes he could have avoided any contact and blocked a shot or cross. On the 2nd penalty the ref has decided that lockyer has blocked the attacker off with his arm,if i was a plymouth fan i would be screaming for a penalty but unsure that it would be given.

Do the highlights have Ellis being pulled down by the keeper the first time? Looked like a stone wall red card at the time.

Very good performance from us today and the ref did us but I think our whole back four needs improving. Slocombe is a fantastic goalkeeper much better than smith but other than that Tom locks Craig , Parts , Bola , Clarke, leads are all decent defenders but what you need to win promotion is championship standard defenders and we haven’t got that. Craig as a defensive coach next season get an experienced center half half alongside Tom broads and maybe we can Keep some clean sheets. Lines had got another year in him sercs is class if Olly can get fit then he’s class so that’s the midfield sorted Sincs will run all day. We’ve played all season with Ellis as our only really good striker , you need 2 at least if your going to win things. Rory is a grafter with fight but not good enough technique Nichols has got technique but hasn’t got any fight or graft we can’t rely on Ellis alone. We’re not a million miles off it but we are off it.

That City lad Vyner was the best CB on show today He isn't even the best defensive prospect the sh** have got. Lloyd Kelly is an England U20 international and very highly-rated.

Honestly I don't think our defence is as bad as a lot make out. We invite a lot of pressure on ourselves by not closing down the wide men, which leads to them putting balls into the box which Locks and Craig will struggle with by not being the tallest. Interesting that Lockyer is getting stick on here today as I thought he looked our most assured defender this afternoon. Not sure what the plan was at left back as there was a point where they ended up 3 on 1 against Bennett and when I looked to see where J Clarke was, he was between Lockyer and Craig at centre back. I would be hunting the leagues for a LB at the moment ready for next season.
On a positive, I did think J Parts and Sercombe started showing a decent partnership down the right which the Plymouth left side has little answer to.

From the majority of fans who traveled and the media reports it sounds like we gave it a real good go today but the fates conspired against us, disappointing though it is ,no need to be down hearted, we are not far off, we just lack that killer instinct to finish teams off when we are on top as we were the first half last week and today , top ten finish is fine by me , we are getting established in this league but have to accept the fact there are better teams and we are a work in progress, the only negative for me is the report of a few of our so called fans letting the club down with loutish behavior, i can well believe it as i have seen and heard it at a couple of away games i have attended with my grand children, it is not nice and i wish those responsible would relocate to ashton where they would be more at home, hope our club can identify them and inform them they are not welcome, no one wants to read the kind of comments coming out of opposition camps about our club, like those voiced at Argyle , Up the Gas and 99% of gas eds!

Very unlucky to come away from the game with nothing. Rovers more than matched the home team and should have got points from the game. The target of 10th or above and 66pts is still on though. The not picking up maximums against the cobblers and wombles has not helped . Still plenty of points to play for. Was the China trip a subconscious distraction for Lockyer today ? (With hindsight) if the scenario comes up again might it be prudent to play Sweeney or Broadbent ? Complete nonsense. Lockyer played really well again apart from the occasional misdirected long ball. Neither penalty was his fault. Plymouth player ran into the back of him and dived to the floor. Joke penalty. I think the question marks at the end of the sentences imply a question and not a statement. A line for discussion.

Its not beyond comprehension that a young man called up to his national squad to play in a tournament (he is not a veteran international after all) might be a little excited about the prospect. Its not beyond comprehension that a young man offered the chance to travel to the other side of the world to a different culture like China might be a little excited at the prospect.
Just saying that the fact there is the much gaschat user acclaimed Broadbent sat in the wings and the good quality player in Sweeney available too. So its not like the team would not have quality and have to rely on second rate players.
That Rovers have a manager who is not afraid to chop and change players and formations from game to game regardless how well a player has performed previously.
So for D.C. to have picked Broadbent would not have been out of character would it ?
Wales play China on Thursday and the squad was announced two days before the Plymouth match.
From Toms perspective (rightly or wrongly given) being the player to give away two penalties is probably not the thing he wants in Ryan Giggs mind come team selection.
Those were some points why he might not have played (in hindsight as I too picked him in my prematch team guesses)

So we're playing the form side in the league away from home, a game we couldn't really afford to lose and it's also considered a west country derby, do you really think dropping our captain ever crossed DC's mind? Particularly when he's been one of our most consistent defenders since he returned from injury. Anyway it was Craig who "conceded" the first pen. Probably the second dubious pen was the only "mistake" Locks made yesterday anyway.

Brilliant first half the best of the season, just didn't get the rub of the green in the second. Disappointed, hey but sure beats Alfreton or Braintree away.Short memories and all that. UTG

I dont agree about the dropping lockyer thing. I think ive finally worked out that on the 1st penalty it was ollie clarke who may have pushed their player and tony craig who came together with him. So only the 2nd pen can be attributed to lockyer imo.
