I'm pretty sure that Alexa learns accents and speach patterns and repsonds more accurately over time as she gets tuned in to you. I think it also makes a difference if multiple users interact with it. Christ! Not another woman telling me what to do, no thanks! No you old fool. Alexa doesn't tell you what to do, she answers questions. She responds to your commands!..............which is more than She Who Casts No Shadow does ! |

I've had the Echo plus for a few months now. For about a month or so, the lack of response was terrible. I often had to ask the same thing three times before it understood. I tested the internet connection, the location as well as resetting it a couple of times. Suddenly the last couple of weeks its been much better so maybe there was some sort of software update. I mainly use it for the music. Cannot be bothered to use it as a shopping list or a calendar! I have a couple of the hue bulbs which is quite cool, especially to get the lights dimmed. If I needing heating in this part of the world I would probably use it for that too! She also has a very good English/German translation function, in that you can ask something in English, and she will repeat it in German. Pretty useful in a multi-lingual house. |

Talking about Alexa, I've just got to tell you this. This is a true dit, and happened last week.
Before leaving for work, I normally Ask Alexa for the 'travel news', and she'll tell me if there are any problems on the route to work and tell me what route is the quickest. I leave the house at around 7am when on 'Normal Shift' work. Last week this function stopped working. In fact, Alexa stopped working in the mornings full stop. I mentioned this to She Who Casts No Shadow, who then informed me that she had set a timer on the Router, so that it switches off between 1am and 8am because she had read that 'the waves produced by the Router and everything connected to it are bad for our health while we are sleeping!".....apparently !
The Router is now working again 24 hrs.
