Some very good replies in this thread. Also worth noting that the Mem pitch was much better last season than it has been this - which could have made the difference for us in a few home games. I doubt we would have won any more than we have though? It's our away form which has let us down.

Progress? On the pitch - more like consolidation. The momentum from previous seasons has all but gone. Next season will be a real test. This summer will be the most crucial transfer period since DC took charge. Off the pitch - who knows? You either trust or you don't. New stadium seems highly unlikely, and development of the Mem seems to still be a target rather than a plan. Behind the scenes people come and go. Before matches we have almost as many background staff on the pitch as players. Are we better for it?? The Development Squad is doing well, and I think we're grooming DC's eventual successor (also possibly the cheapest option). On balance then a little progress, but not as much as we anticipated, and certainly not as much as we had hoped for when the owners arrived.

Surely progress isn't just about pts/league position? Last summer DC had a massive clear out, this summer we'll probably only lose a handful of 1st teamers.
I like to measure progress on the increasing number of tents we have at the ground. Full steam ahead!!
In that case we’ve made progress . In fact we’ve doubled our success this season. I think we may have even qualified for the champions league.

Decent thread. Team wise, we probably won't improve on last season's position/ points tally. We are still not able to really get good results from the top 6 teams. So you could ague therefore there has been no progress, but you could also argue that we have blooded a few players this season - Broadbent/Menayese/Russe & that bodes well for the future. Also lost 'our best' player again. Next season will be DC's third in this division, so in effect we will have a reletivley experienced manager at this level. Some don't like his tactics or formations, we don't have the best players but when you look at the bile that was served up in the 6 years or so prior to him taking over, I think that is progress of sorts. We probably have consolidated rather than progressed, which isn't a bad thing. Off the field, we are further away from a new stadium than we were 12 months ago & the downgraded plans & revised timescales for the Colony (should that now be renamed?) would tell me no progress has been made. Not sure what the plans are close season with, apparently new turnstiles, moving family enclosure to the south stand, lick of paint for the bogs, not sure this would be classed as progress, I would say more like maintenance. Can't wait for next season I think we will see real progress on the field. Off the field I am quite apathetic now, what will be will be. Agree with a lot though I suppose with the UWE going belly up they have been forced to do a maintenance job and keep the Mem ticking over. Fairly practical thing to do. It is a good thread but the answer to the question is not a “yes, progress made” or “no, progress not made”, it’s not a black or white thing, there are degrees of progress made and others where it’s not been made. I expect if you see the owners as a good thing you’ll judge it as a work in progress. It you have a negative view of them then you’ll probably say no, little progress made. In the end it is what it is and I remain fairly hopeful over the ground but less expectant of it happening in the next five years.

I think on the pitch we are going in the right direction, however in both transfer windows in January 2017 and this year losing the snake and B.B. hampered us. We are not good enough yet for championship however next year with some decent additions I expect us to kick on. Sercs, Bennett and Broadbent all good additions, Craig steadying influence, and both keepers decent. Super Ellis most improved player. D.C. needs to be ruthless now. Off the pitch u23 side a bonus, and hopefully something is happening regarding a new plot for a stadium. And that is the elephant in the room as far as Rovers seem to be concerned. We produce a decent forward, and even though they're under contract we don't seem able to hang onto them and they're gone in January. Somw would say that is inevitable, but I would argue that the likes of Marriott, the other forward at Peterborough, Kee at Accrington, all with less well supported clubs, yet have remained. Is this because we always have extremely ambitious players, our wages are crap, or is it because the likes of Peterborough and Accrington are more pleasant places to live? I just don't get it.

Another reason we need progress on revamping the MEM. This will be the 3rd game this season were the away allocation have 'sold out' . We are losing money each time and Blackburn would of brought 2-3 k fans. If you go on Blackburn forum discussions are underway to find other means to purchase tickets ( extra money for increased security now). So that's two ways we are losing money now. The club needs to act next season to increase away allocation.. www.rovers.co.uk/news/2018/april/ticket-news-bristol-rovers-a/
