Just hope DC brings in better than players he has now, Not signing players that he can develop, he has the academy for that,As i said on previous posts we really are not far away from being a good side, myself personally would like to a big strapping CF brought in which was quite evident is what we needed when we played Rotherham,

The transfer window opens earlier now, May 17th and closes on Aug 9th, so cliched, but hopefully we've already got targets lined up and get them in early.

Wont finish top ten without substantial investment. Wasn't that said when we clawed our way out of the conference?

My (Large) Gut tells me we could struggle next season without a large investment in playing staff
No Change with the stadium and somebody may volunteer to cut the Grass at the Colony...

My (Large) Gut tells me we could struggle next season without a large investment in playing staff No Change with the stadium and somebody may volunteer to cut the Grass at the Colony... C'mon Henbury, cheer up. There is going to be good news very soon. By the end of the summer..... UWE will be back on the agenda DC will have invested most of his top 10 budget Planning permission for the Colony submitted - can't guarantee the grass will be cut mind And plans to turn the Mem into a massive indoor Pirate theme park, will be announced. There will also be forum members moaning about, the number of signing, the quality of signings, and why can some club who only gets an average home attendance of 3000, sign players that they think DC should have signed. Oh yes, & we will knocked out of the League Cup & there will be the resurrection of boycotting the EFL Trophy threads. But as long as DC is here leading the way, we will be fine. Looking forward to the new season already UTG

Wont finish top ten without substantial investment. Wasn't that said when we clawed our way out of the conference? Gets harder as you go up the pyramid though. DC was eluding to this on Thurs when explaining Blackburn's, Wiggy's and Rotherham's success this season with their "Championship" squads.

More of the same I am afraid unless there are big changes at the club Why afraid? We’ve just completed a solid two seasons in League 1 which is about as good as it’s got this century and is light years ahead of what we were looking at at the time of the last World Cup in 2014 when a few years stint in non league was possibly beginning. Solid progress I’d say! UTG!

How many of our players would get in shrewsbury/rotherham/charlton team? Harrison, bennett and sercombe would be good signings for these clubs but nobody else in our squad. What about blackburn/wigan? I reckon both would be interested in harrison and nobody else in our squad.

Solid progress I’d say! UTG! Can you really see "solid progress" on the pitch this season? Stagnation for me with too many players underperforming or playing above their natural level. I feel we only have 3/4 players good enough to play/compete at the higher levels of this league.

Working on the basis D.C. stays, even with his magic I cannot seeing the current set up with no investment in the team, evelottion before revolution, blah blah blah. ... finishing above half way in the league. If D.C. moves on then l would imagine the team will struggle and probably end up fighting off relegation.

People talk about us being a long way away from challenging but in truth, the difference between finishing 12th, say and 6th can be minimal. Yes, our season is petering out now, but it’s worth remembering that with just a little luck we could have taken 6 points rather than 1 from our games against Northampton and Plymouth, which would have left us 1 point off the play offs with a game in hand on Scunthorpe, and heading into the Easter period with real belief and momentum.
Ultimately we haven’t quite been good enough this year but we are not far away, in my opinion.
