Unfortunately that is the reality of our situation. Forget the conference a minute and what we will lose next season with the drop in income (assuming no potential compensation), but we will probably have lost around £500k at the very least last season (based on previous years) and I wouldn’t be surprised to see that figure edge up to £750k- £1m given varying other costs
There might not be FFP in the conference, but if we can’t assemble the team on the resources we do have well….

Not sure I agree fully if I'm honest mate. I certainly appreciate we need to live within our means, but IMO as the Lambo money is unbudgeted income, we should spend it on strengthening the squad (speculate to accumulate and all that jazz). Furthermore, we're meant to be debt free when we move in to the new stadium (apparantely) which should only be a couple of years from now (again, apparantely!) so I don't think spending unforseen income that could vastly improve our chances of getting back in to the league (which would provide us with far more income) would neccessarily be a shortsighted move. IMO it's not ridiculous to suggest that the BoD may well cover the losses out of their own pocket - they haven't said they won't and IMO they definitely should be! To be honest fans should probably request and answer to this and push for them to do so if it isn't planned!

I am not suggesting you are wrong to say the directors should cover it. After all they are the ones who have admitted mistakes have been made.
It is certainly unbudgeted income and would have been useful in league two, unfortunately relegation means that it is perhaps more important because the losses are going to be bigger and our playing budget should be adequate for league two let alone the conference
As for being debt free at UWE, that was a small change to their will be no debt attached to the stadium (UWE won’t let there be) which means the football club will still have a debt of whatever

This move would be great for us and Rickie would dearly love to play for Liverpool, just cannot see him getting loads of starts there, unless there were injuries. But at 31 he would surely jump at the chance. He deserves everything he gets.

Not the best move probably after the recent stick we have taken about tge Wycombe thing. Still, fans were asking and the club responded so cant see the big issue really.

Nor me. I can see how it would add to the stick we are getting about being money grabbers but otherwise what's there to be offended about?

Where it affects others, timing and order in which you tell people such things is everything in my view and looks like we may have jumped the gun. Unfortunate and does seem to be a habit we could do with breaking as highlights a lack of control in the way we run things

Tbf, any Lambert money we get is a bonus in my eyes. Maybe we won't get as much as we would if the fee had been 8/9m, but it will still be £500k+/- extra in the kitty that we hadn't planned on.
Would love it to get reinvested in the team. Let's hope so.

Congratulations Sir Rickie! Thoroughly deserved and it's great to see a player work hard through all the leagues and get his reward (take note Rovers yoof).
More made up with what it means for Rickie than the sell-on money we'll receive, although that is a lovely little bonus... for the BoD

Put some aside for Santa's Grotto. 2 portacabins this year? And a new hat to replace the 'Santa is a Gashead' one from 1986.

Shows what hard work and not thinking you've made it can do. Take note Ellis Harrison.
