I'm sure he'll do well there. Thanks for the memories Rory and good luck!
Speaking about Rory’s deal to join Salford, Manager Darrell Clarke added, “We would like to thank Rory for his services and effort during his time with us.
“He’s a player that always gave his best for the club and we wish him every success in the future.”
“We would also like to extend our thanks to Salford for the way in which they conducted the transfer.”

Have spent the last few days at the cricket in Taunton and as you do I got into conversation with an Exeter City fan who was saying how good Nicholls was. I was saying how poor he was last season and he was talking about he was such a clever player who was really excellent on the ball. I don’t believe that he will have another season as poor as the one he’s had. Surely? UTG! I will bet you whatever amount you like he doesn't score more than 10

Nice lad, and all the very best to him in the future. Unfortunately, he was not the striker that will help put us in the top six.

A good player for us over the years, scored a fair few in our promotion season in League One, so I’ll be sad to see him go. He had a disappointing season this year but I still felt he had a bit to offer at this division. All the best Rory, can I have my wife back now?

I'd rather keep Rory and write off Nichols. He just kept disappearing at the end of last season. Anyone notice how quiet the crowd were when he came on as sub? To be honest I would have thought DC would have been more careful with the money but having Stewart telling you how good he was is a bit like Lines telling you how good Byron Moore is. Or in other words both wrong. I’d give him one more season, there must be something in him or he wouldn’t have finished top scorer at Exeter or Peterborough. There’s still time yet for him to salvage his Rovers career, I think a large part of it is down to confidence. He wasn't Peterboro's top scorer and the Posh fans booed him when he came on.

He was their top scorer with 13 goals, including one at our place against us. It was a minority of Peterborough’s support that booed him, a fair few were sad to see him go.

Woof. Salford mean business don't they?
Easy to forget how much of a difference Rory made to us when he came on loan. I think we were losing steam at that point cuz our attack was a bit lightweight and Taylor needed a big lad to hold the ball up, you could see the difference he made immediately and that initial goal return was the icing on the cake!
I've felt a bit sorry for Rory since we've come up to League One because for me opposition defenders pick him out from the get-go and he always seems to have someone holding him so he often gets left out of the game. The downsides of being the obvious target man I suppose.
Best of luck Rory, thanks for everything.

Best of luck Rory, but seems like a good deal for everyone
We get a bit of cash, move a player on and no doubt Rory is getting a reasonable wedge there
