If their performance against Weston super Mare is anything to go by then I expect us to put a few goals past them. They really were woeful at the back and Weston could have scored more than the 6 they got. Surely that wasn't FGR's first team back 4 as league positions last season suggests Yeovil weren't that much a better side? The back 4 was Liam Shephard (new signing from Peterborough), Farrend Rawson (18 apps - joined in Jan), Haydn Hollis (19 apps last season), Scott Laird (36 apps). |

Very disappointing that we can start with one striker today.
As a club we seem to struggle to bring strikers on board, we need at least one and two if the speculation about Ellis is true

Hopefully Nichols isn't playing the lone striker role today DC said post match on Tuesday the subs, which inc Harrison & Reilly, would get a full game today, if he's true to his word it'll also be interesting to see how Broadbent gets on V Doidge. All the subs at Yeovil start this afternoon so he's true to his word. If you look at Tuesday's match report you will see Harrison and Reilly were not named on the bench neither were Partington and Sinclair who are also both absent again. feel a bit sorry for Chris Hargreaves- his squad is being left short in order to plug the gaps in our first xi match squads. Not sure he can assess triallists properly when they are all lumped into the team together with only a few of the fringe development squad to keep them company. |

Gas have been shocking first 20 mins, very much feels like a reserve game at the moment. Smith unlucky not to save the penalty.

Granted it’s pretty much a reserve team but 1-11 they are better than us in every department. We have played zero football and been on the back foot since the second minute.
Considering these lads are fringe players who should be desperate to play well, it’s really disappointing so far.

Trouble is that if we lose Ellis we will need two strikers yet we seem to be struggling to sign one! There must also be a chance that Lockyer will go in which case we will need a centre half as well. I would describe us as an ill prepared side pre season and I am sure the reason for that is the ridiculous line ups for the friendly games every season and lacking personnel at the moment.Of course on the opposite side there was Buckle where we were brilliant in the pre season friendlies but crap in the League!! If we want top six then we are well short on strikers and defenders who can achieve that.

A little worrying that after DC wanted less friendlies this season so far he been unable to put out a strong starting 11. Could be a few players lacking match sharpness in a couple of weeks.
Also, I’ve never understood having the development squad play the same day. Maybe hard to avoid Saturday clashes, but the weeknight games could do with being on separate days which would aid the development squad.

Don’t panic , it’s only a preseason friendly, I’m sure the right additions are going to be made before the season begins. It’s all about fitness and trying experiments with different players/formations. |
