Hope he's not gone. I agree with the commentary not being the best. His knowledge is good and he is passionate but he isn't a great, exciting commentator to listen to. His programme work is clearly good.

Keith Brookman is a Gas legend. The work he puts in on the match day programme is tremendous, he is a Mr Gas, and been so helpful over the years. I like many look forward to a club statement. Hope we see him back soon.

Second this. I also love his radio stuff so would be gutted if he left/retired. Always gives balanced co - commentary with a bit of Rovers knowledge thrown in. Balanced!!!! Nobody on local radio is balanced, its about as balanced as Ian Wright talking about England Keith does balance the radio commentary. I listen to BBC 'Bristol - We love City' whilst watching the game at the Mem and he is constantly trying to redress the balance of the blatant 'we don't really like Rovers' commentators bias against us. He is a true Gashead and his co-commentary should be pro Gas....that's his job. Also, when it was my son's 18th Keith showed him around the club, into the dressing room to meet all the players and up into the box to me Wael and Mr Hamer. Keith was a very busy man but he made time and effort to make my lads birthday one he will never forget. I really do hope that Keith is still heavily involved at Rovers. Top man.

Trouble is Wael's hired hands will come and go and do their jobs just for the money, Keith did so much extra just because he loved the club. Loose people like Keith and the club starts to loose its soul.

If he has gone you can only assume he's one of the members of staff Sevencider and UTG12 have been referring to on the other threads regarding staff departures. I would have thought he's going to be a massive void to fill but nobody is bigger than the club itself.

We listen to lots of games and without Keith it just wouldn't be the same. Who else can say "getting his shot away" and "Rovers are in the ascendancy"?! Classic Keithism's. plus the award winning programme, I can't believe this rumour can be true, it makes no sense.

Another 2 pages of sh**e based on nothing.
I haven't seen the 50/50 draw ticket seller for a few months, be a disgrace if a dedicated Gashead and club volunteer has been let go.

If this is true then it bothers me a lot more than Ellis leaving does. As others have said, Keith is proper gas and brings such a unique combination of skills and experience to the club that he's practically irreplaceable.

Think you will find he is not at the club anymore. Don't know any details other than he and TG did not see eye to eye over something. Maybe the programme? Hope it does get sorted,he always did a load of extra work for the club, and will be greatly missed. I trust TG though hes made a great impact at the club As it stands we dont know anything so pointless speculation Not pointless speculation. I've given some of the details on other threads. The programme was put out to tender by TG with zero consultation with Keith. A new company was chosen to design, produce & print the award winning programme, but still no news of whether it will get sorted out. The previous designer, of long standing, was told of this by email. This is not the way any company should work, especially BRFC. After 21 years Keith offered resignation but asked to wait to see if board meeting could help. Today it's official.

You get the society you deserve and if you want a club like this, then well done, we've got it now.

And how have we deserved this by not acting on your (frankly unintelligible) warnings?

It sounds like the club is moving quicker than some people can deal with (either mentally or physically). Everyone hates change, especially when that change comes from someone who has only been here for 9 months, even though that change is ultimately fantastic for the club.

I fully expect Keith Brookman to splash the dirt with his book " Rovers, the magic years "

If you take away the main part of Keith's job then sounds like he did not have much choice but to resign if he was to have any self respect. Too many hired hands with no real affinity for the club if you ask me.

I will hold fire before deciding whether the change is "fantastic" for my club. As I see it at the moment there are far too many tents, late kit, late season tickets, less news (other than bad!) less players, less strikers, less season ticket sales and possibly less ambition to make me either excited or at the least seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. I very much hope that there are a good few signings to come before Peterborough or I see less points this season as well!

That's another £3 of my money the club will not be getting if this is true They have also lost out on pastie and drink money because they are so poor/overpriced Keep it up Rovers and you will soon lose my season ticket money and i will stick to ifollow...
