Exactly. And the clue is in the club he signed for. It seems very likely that even if we were interested, Bury would have been willing to pay a bigger wage and that’s fine by me. I can't see how Bury could pay DT more than a mid table Div 1 side, particularly one who've just banked £750K from a player sale! DT talked last season about getting loan players in nearing the end of their contracts so they were potential signings, then let DT & Bola sign for other clubs, so not sure what he was inferring now by those comments. If he's only good enough to warm the bench, there's a limit on how much we'd be prepared to pay him - and rightly so. The fact is Bury may have been prepared to pay more. Big deal. |

Why, surely the less Welsh teams in L1 the better? Why? It’s advantageous for us to have as many local teams in league 1. I’d much rather Yeovil, FGR, Cheltenham, Newport, Swindon, Cardiff, C££y and Bath were all in our league. Increase attendances, good atmosphere and less miles to travel |

I think it probably is But where would the demarcation line(s) be drawn? The last time that the West Country was any good was during the reign of King Alfred 😉, so I propose that we adopt the boundaries of Wessex, Mercia, East Anglia and Northumberland. Then, apart from the league we could have inter-regional battles,...I mean a cup competition (with no hostage taking) at stadiums in Winchester, Tamworth, Thetford and York, the winners of which get to represent all of England. 😂 |

My Dad, when he went to Rovers matches in the days of Third Division South we were in.
Use to say it was boring watching the same old teams.
Perfered it when they made it national.

Believe the last time we played in it was 52/53 when we went up to league two as Champions, Geoff Bradford scoring 33 goals that season. It was done away with in 1958. |

Surely it's no different you either play 23 south based team or a mixture of south and north it's still 23 teams each season, anyway I'm bored of seeing Accy & Rochdale as we never seem to beat NW based teams!! |

Only one team went up each season and effectively nobody ever went down with the voting system. So the league stayed very static compared to L1 today. |

I think he'll could get 15 goals in league and cup this season. He knew where the goal is for sure and I think we've missed out on a useful player for whatever reasons. Would not be surprised if he did not want to come to us given the lack of game time given to him last year by DC again for whatever reason. When Stoke gave him a contract I thought they were seeking a fee but clearly not.
