It won’t happen. Clarke Osbourne has never built anything despite numerous plans. Milton Keynes Bowl is a grass field with no permanent structures so he isn’t claiming that one. As somebody else said, move on. But the article suggests that's his most successful! He's nothing more than a property speculator with his own interests at heart, we lost Eastville thanks to him and Swindon Speedway probably exchanged a good piece of real estate for a field in the middle of nowhere for their new stadium. |

Yep, he’s after Plainmoor which the council owns. They have already made it clear that it’s future won’t be decided until after Osbourne builds his new Stadium. THE END |

New Bristol Rovers CEO Martyn Starnes has confirmed that the club still plans to move into a new stadium.
Speaking to local press, Starnes said that while Rovers are currently undertaking renovation works at its Memorial Stadium, the works aren't part of a long-term plan to upgrade the stadium – but rather "necessary maintenance works".
The club has been looking to move away from the ageing Memorial Stadium since 2006, but advanced plans to build a £40m venue – developed in partnership with the University of Western England (UWE) – collapsed in August 2017.
Following the cancellation of the plans, Rovers owner Wael Al-Qadi suggested that the club might have to look at abandoning hope of a new stadium – and instead redevelop its existing home.
Starnes, however, said that the current works aren't an indication that plans for a new stadium have been dumped.
Starnes joined Rovers this summer from League One rivals Plymouth Arqyle.

I might be wrong but my reading of this is that by ‘new stadium’ he probably means a redeveloped Mem. |

Seems perfectly reasonable to me. When the UWE deal collapsed, the likelihood was that we would have to develop the Mem instead. Now however, all options have been left open and nothing ruled out. We may stay at Mem or we may seek a new venue. In the meantime, we're upgrading/maintaining the Mem, putting right the lack of investment in it over the last 20 years. |

Unless you pull down what is at the Mem and start again you are, as they are now "polishing a turd". The ground if rebuilt needs moving over towards the car park. In fact they could build a new main stand there whilst we continue to play there. Of course people would have to find somewhere else to park. To be honest if we bought the CC club that would be a good asset for the club. It could be a new training ground (Joke)
and the other thing, why don't they have a café / bar open every day during the day. I'm often working in Briz. Plenty of places to eat but nowhere to park.

The point I am making is that despite the UWE plan going belly up (how long ago now?) we still appear to have not a scooby whether we are redeveloping the Mem properly or trying to move somewhere else. Call me overly-expectant but I thought we might have come up with at least some kind of plan in the intervening period... Or maybe they do have a plan but they're not telling us. But many years of previous board inactivity has brought me to the conclusion that it's a mistake to give them too much credit in these things and the strong likelihood is that we don't actually have a plan and they are just treading water. |
