I still care as I was born there and saw my first match there back in '64. What could have happened if Rovers had failed to go up first time.

It is of interest to us. The story of Torquay United, and York City and Stockport County and Darlington and Wrexham and countless others should be compulsory reading for BRFC fans and for any prospective owners. We avoided obscurity last time owners took their eyes off the priority of any football club, football. If there is a next time we may not be so lucky.
I would not want any future gasheads to face the same feelings I had that Saturday afternoon and evening of that match against Mansfield four years ago in the future. The story of all the above clubs must remain as a cautionary tale. So it is very much Rovers related.

Went to watch Weston-super-Mare vs Torquay tonight and I have to applaud the Torquay fans. Absolutely superb support. Football League quality. Non stop noise for 90 minutes. Weston usually get about 500 fans but tonight's attendance was 1,700, so Torquay had 1,000+ there. Not bad for a 6th tier game on a cold Tuesday night. I hope they can climb back up the leagues asap.
