Sad thing is in reality we won’t sign Cole or doidge or stockley as we don’t have the wage budget to do so and the board won’t spend all of our incoming profit on a team as they know we aren’t ready as a club to go up so it will be spent on tarting the mem up etc
Darrell has made it clear we’re in Poundland and Iceland at a push looking for bargains

All new signing playing well but they’re all midfielders and I think that’s the only area where we look strong. Every time the ball comes in to our area we concede. Broadbent has been dreadful locks not much better, Craig doesn’t look a left back and leads looks unfit. Up front we have absolutely f**k all but if you play Nichols as a loan striker then you can expect that. But Broadbent is the answer? The answer to what ? I rate him Highly but he was awful today. |

Not there anyone gives us any positives? Our midfield dominated and he’s signed some very good players in Upson Mathews and the Shrewsbury lad . Reilly put more effort in the first minute he came on than Nichols did in 70 minutes. Must start Reilly over Nichols if we don’t sign another before Saturday. James Clarke once again proved he can do a job anywhere in the back four. Upson stood out the most for me, won loads of tackles interceptions never gave the ball away and a good range of passing forwards sideways and backwards when needed to keep possession. Terrible defending and having Nichols on for 70 minutes were the low points , midfield was a positive. |

Yes, I know it was only a friendly but it's a reminder that we won't win many with no one upfront and a leaky defense.
That new defensive coach has a bit of work to do next week and that new recruitment man should have a busy week as well.
Wael please give Hani a call and sort out how much DC has to spend.

Our performances are never good in pre season, as DC works them hard! One of the reasons we start slow, but do well at the end of games, as the season goes on. Would you rather have won today, or show late goals like we do?  We only arrived back from Holland yesterday after a lot of training. Wasn't expecting a good performance today. Last session was the same, when we arrived back from abroad wasn't it??? |

Mmmm! Dont panic!Our poor first half of last two seasons was due to defensive frailties, the signing of Sweeney and Lumley helped to remedy that in the former and the signing of Craig and a defensive coach helped to remedy, it in the latter, we always scored enough to gain enough points for comfortable survival, so where does that leave us for the season ahead? it can only be hoped that our new left back and the return of Parts will tighten the defence, which leaves us hoping some one is going to come good up front.Its beginning to look like we may have to do with what we have for a few games at least till any new man settles in, i have willed Tom to come good , but after seeing him in friendlies he just does not seem to have it in him to be our savior despite being given every chance to cut it, that leaves us with Reilly who must be given the chance, Bernie , and the radical solution of trying Broadbent as target man, anyway only friendlies so far so no need to panic, but even this rose tinter is just a little concerned , next sat will be the acid test , Posh tore us apart this time last year, it is hope there departures have left them short of last years standards! Up the Rovers!

Is league 1 a magical league lol. What a joke of a post. Even in league 1, he has sold 3 players to championship sides. Finished well considering, the majority of our team were non league a few years ago! A decent striker and the new left back, will make a massive difference. |

Midland said last year he would not watch again until DC left but when I asked if I could have his season ticket he said no. Still I'm glad he's still here despite this ongoing vendetta against DC Much will depend on how the shopping for a striker or two goes next week and how quickly that new left back get up to full fitness as Craig cannot cover there with his old legs. |
