I mean, they promised us a new stand for this upcoming season (family-end), but where is it? Still in France, we all know how slow them garlic crunching bastards are. probably on strike.

As I have said many times before it is all one persons fault What on earth have they been doing on the training ground it seems the trip to Holland was a waste of time and money Goodness me it seams already that we are in for one sh**e season ahead so much for progression This has to be a joke. Our performances are never good in pre season, as DC works them hard! One of the reasons we start slow, but do well at the end of games, as the season goes on. Would you rather have won today, or show late goals like we do? We only arrived back from Holland yesterday after a lot of training. Wasn't expecting a good performance today. Last session was the same, when we arrived back from abroad wasn't it??? He wants us to fail so he can come on here and spout his bile. He must be one of the most arrogant people around to continually deride everyone else with his belief he is right and thousands of real fans are wrong. I really don't understand why he continues to "support" Rovers - I'm presuming he does support us? Not sure though. I'd guess most of his posts are when something doesn't go well. Sad individual.

It's worrying that Nichols seems to be incapable of scoring goals for us. It's strange because at Exeter he was a real prospect, and he even scored 14 goals for Posh the season before he joined us. I still have hopes that he'll come good, but it's looking less and less likely as time goes on.

Won't have to wait long will I , I just don't get what you all see in him ok before we got into league one he was great and as I've said he is way out of his depth now reason no other club wants him is because he ain't no good , DC has over achieved every single season. His budget last season was bottom half of the table. This season he doesn't know what his budget is. You really don't have a clue what you are talking about. And we finished in the bottom half of the table.... Bit confused what you mean by he doesn't know his budget as we've already signed 5 players who generally look good quality, at most a couple of strikers and a LB to come so most of our business is done. That said I do agree with your sentiments, just being a bit pedantic. 😱

I still have hopes that he'll come good, but it's looking less and less likely as time goes on. We don't seem to create loads of chances for our strikers and aside from Matty Taylor has anyone really been prolific for us in recent years? Is it our style of play and work rate demanded of our strikers that is a problem? Ellis went off the boil a bit at the end of last season while he remained excellent in tracking back and being our best defender from set pieces. When Gaffney played he was a crowd favourite for his work rate but spent most of his time chasing down fullbacks and making wide runs to chase down hopeful balls into the channels. When we played two up top there was this strange strategy of having them both split wide, presumably to create space for the attacking midfielder to run in to? I prefer a front two to work as a partnership and stay close together - that doesn't necessarily mean 1 big man and one little un. I trust DC to sort it out and achieve a top 10, hopefully top 6 position, especially if the owners support him in the transfer market this week.

Losing 4-0 against a League Two side has to be a concern, even if it was just a friendly.
I've been saying we need a big dominant centre back for a while now and I think we missed a trick not getting in 6ft 4in Ben Heneghan from Sheffield United.
The same old defensive frailties that we've had for two seasons now still appear to be there...hopefully Coughlan can help over the season, although he's not a miracle worker.
Craig is not my cup of tea at left back as he doesn't have the pace or mobility I like in that position, so hopefully Holmes-Dennis can get himself ready and available soon.
One week to go and in my opinion we still lack another winger option, a left back to compete with Holmes-Dennis, a centre back and 2 strikers.

Is that not ridiculous to you?

Peterborough must have been laughing all the way to the bank when we offered to sign him. His record at this level is very poor (13 goals from 97 games) and the sooner we sign a couple of quality strikers the better for me.

That result is embarrassing, friendly or not!! 😳 It is but it could be the kick up the arse the players need last game before the season starts. DC would have learned a lot about his players today. I also thought all our new signings looked good. I fancy us to bounce back and get a result v Peterborough now more than if we’d won today in a way. Crazy as that might seem.

Having had an hour to calm down after watching that debacle. A positive from the game for me was sam matthews.looked to try and do something everytime he had the ball. Didn't always come off but looks like he will be a great signing as the season progresses to me.

Is that not ridiculous to you? To be fair EH's deal only went through last week after a bid was only apparently made a few days before but DC did say in his 2nd interview during the Holland trip "“There have been productive meetings over the last couple of days and I am sure we will get a couple of number nines in before the transfer window closes.”

We're in agreement there Pirate - we had one of the worst defensive records in the league last season, as I may have said before. Broadbent may be a good 'prospect' but far from the finished article needed for a first division side - he still seems prone to a critical error - and the defence has still not been strengthened. Unfortunately, unless DC is given significant funds and Widdrington has done what he has been brought in to do, IMO we have a difficult season ahead of us. We were, arguably only 2/3 players short of what our strongest line up could be next week.
