Both Peterborough players given way too much space to put crosses in. Also Lockyer didn't even attempt to win that first header. The 2nd one against Craig was a bit too easy too but it was a great header.

Pathetic statuesque defending. Why didn’t sercombe try and close down the crosser no pressure on him Because the defensive side of a midfielder's role is a real weakness in his game and the reason why he is a League 1 player. We do have problems in stopping crosses at source and can only hope these will be addressed when our better full backs are fit. Additionally, we are short in stature in the middle and whilst I don't think this was the reason for the two goals yesterday (one didn't jump, the other was slow to react), this may be a problem at times. I'm a big fan of both Lockyer and Craig and think that individually they are fine centre halfs. I do sometimes worry though that maybe at times they need to be paired with a big ugly centre half, which if we had one would mean a very difficult decision would have to be made, or switch to three at the back, which will make cutting the crosses out at source that much more difficult in the first place.

Sorry but when I played football you attacked as a team and defended as a team,We don’t pressure the opposition enough and let them cross balls in at their leisure. I must agree with you yeah we need that big ugly centre half and forward.

Andy don’t forget staffy we still defend the same way and DC comes out with the same statements after every loss. we can all see we need that physical presence at the back and up front why can’t DC ?

Have to agree with most of Steve’s report, although I would have added a mark to all and not been quite as harsh. Expected us to lose more heavily than we did given our lack of height and physicality (which will hopefully be improved on Monday) but some good points: midfield looked good; never say die attitude still there; Reilly looked good ... and my youngest son’s first ever game so another gas convert.
On a different topic, I got home to find my debit card missing. Rang the bank and someone had already called to report it. Not sure if I lost it in the away end or outside but if it was a fellow gashead on this forum, the other forum or a friend of a poster than huge, huge thanks and will gladly buy you a drink or three at the next game I get to.
