The earliest Match day thread ever?! Way too much optimism on this thread. I think it will be close. Can't decide between 1-1 and 2-1 Rovers but will go 1-1. You used to make em a couple of days in advance, so no. Bogey team so gonna go 2-1 Accy. They were match threads not match day threads. |

Looking forward to seeing the lads run out in the new quarters for the first time this season today.
I'm going for a gas win 2-1.
As regards the team, hard to call this one but think DC will go for it. Payne and Nichols to start up front.
Payne to score, Nichols will be Nichols and be subbed of after 60 with nothing to show for his efforts as usual lol.

Excited to be back at the mem today, feels like forever since the last home game, the pitch will be a lot better which will suit our style of play. It won’t be an easy match today, Accrington were comfortably L2 champions last year and newly promoted teams tend to do well in this division, they have Kee and McConville who can do us damage. That said I think we will be strong.

Going for a 4-1 win if we can score an early goal and force Accrington to open up a bit. Otherwise a tighter match in prospect.
Looking forward to seeing the new boys in action. Be very interesting to see who starts up top but knowing DC I expect Nicholls will start.

I'll be missing today, M5 northbound too congested from Devon, suspension bridge closed, having to queue twice to get ticket and then to get in.
Still I think it's a good Gas win today by 2 clear goals.
Meltdown if we loose and goals come from crosses and there is ticket chaos.
Either great happiness and optimism or a meltdown...sure to be one or the other.

Have a feeling DC will make just one change to the starting 11, Payne in for Nichols. A friend who was watching the squad training at the Mem yesterday said DC was walking through plays with a back four of Clarke, Lockyer, Broadbent and Craig. Payne was up top with Nichols |
