First game I've seen this season.
New bars were nice.
Pasty was horrible.
But not as horrible as the match. They just didn't seem fired up from the start and after the Southend goal it just got worse and worse.
Unlike others on here, I thought Leadbitter was ok. He at least seemed to be trying hard, unlike most of the rest of them, but it was all futile and inept.
I know we were missing a few key players today, so that will be the excuse, but to me it looked like a team heading for defeat from the first minute.

Well what a sh!te game/result.
However, as one who likes ta find a positive, i was catching up on twitter earlier an i'd like ta give a big well done ta th chap in Th Thatchers End who stood up to some racist pr!cks. I believe th club acted swiftly (Big Tom Gorringe) after he reported them.
So whoever yous were an if yer reading this - Well done pal an don't let it stop you following yer club.

These stats are really reassuring. Despite the bad moment we went through, the last matches show the quality of the team and reveals a potential to do better.

The League table he say NO.
Just goes to show statistics can prove anything you want.
99% of Rovers fans will not post on here to disagree with me.

What you say does not mean anything.
A league table after five games doesn't mean anything; statistics mean more at this point in fact !
And even more different kind of statistics going the same way. If the shot on the post of the first half goes in, the half of this thread doesn't focus on bullshit moaning anyway.
Good night

Stats are great but the only ones that count will be points, goals for and against! Simple game really!

It is two different things. If you want you can see it like it. But it s not, in fact !
Stats mean more on a team at this point of a league that haven't reached the half of the half of the half of its term. (i simplify mathematics volontarly i know its monday ^ )

I suppose it depends on what is classed as a shot at goal & a shot on target. A little toe poke from the edge of the box that rolls harmlessly into the keepers hands could be classed a a shot on target. Possession stats are useless. If you are playing keep ball in your last third for 5 mins then get caught out on the edge of your own box so you lump it 50 yards out of harms way, then it counts for nothing. But if you are probing constantly in your opponents half & creating lots of quality chances then it's more significant as you would expect that sort of possession to have a positive outcome. From what I have seen this season it's the former.

From what I have seen this season it's the former. Spot on. Also DC keeps going on about retaining possession. I feel like it's having an adverse effect. Several times on Saturday we would beat the man, and then instead of trying to make that advantage tell (however risky) we would stop and then play the ball backwards again. Leads especially.

I know that a possession stat can mean both right or wrong depending of what you put in. The bravery and risk players show means the most. Intelligence and pace too.

"Statistics are facts which are obtained from analysing information expressed in numbers, for example information about the number of times that something happens" I'd suggest you are not a mathematician either.

It's still statistics.
At best you could argue a league table at this stage is a poor sample size, but you certainly can't say it's not statistical data.

A league table contains the only statistics that matter! All other statistics i.e attempts on target, mean absolutely nothing.

Well that was #iss poor. After Tuesday I was really optimistic, but now it seems back to square one. 4 defeats in first 5 games so barring an amazing turnaround, we can forget about top 6. We need to get a commanding CH in asap. This was the worse display since the L2 relegation season for me & DC needs to nip it in the bud. There seemed a lack of fight today which Is inexcusable. I think DC will keep us up but I must question what he sees in Craig, he certainly ain't a leader, not that I could see & I would tell him he he can go on loan or pay his contract up. I would Blood Kelly in at LB & bring in Russe in midfield. I still think we need a big CF & goalie too. But hey it's only August can't wait for the winter months. Oh & I am probably the best supporter too UTG Blood Kelly and Russe? dont you realise the finest minds in football all nod sagely to the adage "you'll win nothing wi' kids"
