Considering we were down to ten a good point, could not go and listened on radio, Leads sounded awful he cannot pass water, all the pace, no end product, we cannot create anything, I am now worried that we may get relegated as the squad seems disjointed. Desperate for a win next week, plus point keeper sounded like he did well.

During the last 50 odd years I have lost count how many times we have played crap against a crap team. Today was one of those but we come away with a point. I'd rather that than come away with nothing. Pleased with the point not with the performance. We have to improve & think we will, but don't see a turnaround overnight.

Have to say that based on the performances so far, I'm disappointed in our new signings Rodman and Upson neither of them seem to have improved the team.
I'm really looking forward to some of our injured / missing players being available:
Parts in for Leads Lines in for Upson Sercs in for Rodman THD in for Martin
Not forgetting that Sincs is also coming back soon, I think we have been missing his bite in midfield.
It would be good to see Reilly given an opportunity to show us what he can do.

Wasn’t there so can’t say anything about the match and this thread doesn’t make for good reading but perhaps some positives. We seemed to defend better than we have been doing. We might struggle to score but there are loads of teams in this league with worse scoring records so far. We got a point at a place where we usually lose which means we are unbeaten away from home since the first day of the season. And it’s only the first day of September. Perhaps a disappointing start but blimey I’ve seen a lot worse over the past 50 odd years. UTG!

People calling for Reilly to be picked should realise that the Scottish Championship is probably the equivalent of the National league and that half of his 22 goals last season came against lower league and non league clubs in Scotland The facts with Rovers this season are simple 1) From open play as an attacking force we can't hit a barn door with a banjo, the referee today gave us a gift with his penalty decision. 2) In defence we have not been organised and have been too soft The second issue can be worked on in training, the first issue is a real problem because the manager doesn't get it, the solution is obvious

Can't understand the gloom on here. If not for a stupid second yellow, we would have probably won away from home today. Can't blame DC for that.
It might be a turning point. Teams playing badly don't suddenly become brilliant. It's a slow process as the manager sorts it out over 5-10 games until that magical form is found. This might be step one to end the rot and start a better run.

I think this team does need time to gel. I know people saying "why can't we be like Peterborough?" but they may have just got lucky - or be playing a style which is easy to adapt to quickly. In the conference people wanted us to be more like Barnet (Physical- direct), in the second more like Northampton (Physical - direct), and last season like Shrewsbury (physical -direct). All those sides declined.
Well I think we may just come out of this bad patch better than before - and with a style of play that is more than just a short term fix.

We couldn't string 2 or 3 passes together today and had one shot on target which was a penalty.

We couldn't string 2 or 3 passes together today and had one shot on target which was a penalty. I wasn't there today so ca not comment specifically on that, but no way could our previous performance at QPR have been described as "direct". We played some really good passing football there, spoiled only by the important elements of defending in our own box and being punchless up front. But definitely not direct. The players have the ability to play attractive passing football, although it may need Lines' inclusion to do so. He is the one who makes us tick and is able to take the ball from defenders and build attacks. I think we miss him, Sinclair, Partington and Holmes-Dennis (if he is what we think he is), hugely. Add to that the dip in form of Bennett and to an extent Sercombe (both can be excused to an extent as they've been played put of position - the only valid charge that can be laid at DC's door in my view) and in Smith a keeper with no command of a six yard box and it's clear why we've had problems. Let's see where we are after 10-15 games. Sorry, went off topic a bit there!!

He has to start somewhere though - a goal scorer is a goal scorer in my book. Hate to say it but Taylor was at FGN but scored in L1 and the Championship, To be fair, that was a great goal he scored in the championship.👏

Wow,so you think telford will top score[2nd top ] in the premier league in the future, brave prediction by you. Unlikely, but he'll score many more for Bury this year than your old favorite Nichols ever will for us .... I was simply replying to the comment that telford is the next marcus stewart and pointing out what he needs to achieve in football to be that.

Lets face it, today was sh**. It just happens that the team we played were just as bad. The summer recruitment was terrible. We have players he has brought in that he wont play, our new Scottish forward for example, and players that he cant play, an injured left back. Meanwhile last Januarys signing goes to Lincoln. DC WONT play any of our kids unless it is a cup games because he really doesn't care about them, but when it comes to league game he will try any of his "trusted" first team. Why cannot he accept that he bought a dud in Nichols I don't know. If anyone had to go out on loan, it was him. We should have signed Telford, no doubt, Bury have a bargain there, meanwhile we sign someone we have never heard of from Scotland, and then we panic but a forward from the Shrews. What a mess, and this is after he has qualified to coach. What a laugh Already we are looking at a "nothing" season. DC has more resources that any other Rovers manager that I can readily remember. If we are in the bottom 4 when we hit December, he should go The vultures are circling. Horrible creatures vultures, they prey on the wounded.

They are indeed much maligned and perform a vital function in clearing away carcasses

It was vital we did not lose this game and we didn't, so job done imo. It's only September plenty of time to turn this round UTG.

Would have taken a draw before the game - knowing that we were down to 10 men I’d definitely take it.
I mentioned last week that I am worried that we can’t seem to score from open play which still seems the case. Only 1 goal from open play so far in the league.
What a signing Martin was!

Fair enough, our of interest would you have tried to sign Telford if you were DC?
